This is great phone for elderly people , going to buy this for my dad .He uses his phone mostly for calls and checking news and this one got big screen and amazing battery. Perfect

the 'dont buy' aspect is unfair, I bought this phone and I love it, I am used to very decent Samsung phones but I did not want a new subscription and pay lots of money, or pay heaps for a new phone alone.
I am a bit of a gadget girl, but when money does not tollerate the expensive things you have to deal with less... but the less is hardly an issue, this phone is awesome, its big, and it functions very well!
I have compared many phones and options, and while searching, stumbled accros this video and it put me out of balance and made me doubt my decision to buy this one.
I am glad I was able to ignore this and go for it!

For around 100Bucks, this looks awesome. If the connectivity holds up to somewhat modern standards, if the performance is ok for day to day use and if the battery mostly gets you through your day, what more to want from a 100 Euro's device
Does this phone suffer from interstatial adverts baked-in to the operating system?
As for alternatives, how about the Honor 8A or 8S?
Go for realme lineup devices these are priced competitively to MI devices .Plus no bloated as mi phones are. smooth and Better functionality.
Other options i would suggest is getting a used/refurbished one plus device like 6t which will cost around 120-140$ would give you value for money in every aspect price hardware and software

Great review. I liked the specs & pricing but I prefer Samsung M20 3gb option, Samsung has better support & can be upgraded, hence a future proof option on a budget

18 hours battery that's insane!
Purchased one, great battery but it stops there. Very laggy, purchased the 2GB version and it was a big mistake, but for $87 it was worth that. Just ordered the Redmi Note 8.

Well, it's a sub $100 phone, don't expect too much. It's not for us power users. In my opinion it's a very good phone for its price. If you want a slightly better phone with glass and fingerprint sensor, I'd recommend Redmi 8.
I can get the Redmi 8A for $90 and Redmi 8 for $115 here. So for $25 more, you'll get fingerprint sensor, soft TPU case, infrared, 3GB RAM, depth camera

For 100 euros I think it's really worth the price,even If I would change the phone once/year it's all good instead of paying 500 for a phone once every 2-3 years.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I refuse to pay a lot of money for a smartphone that doesn't have a headphone jack or SD Card slot as I don't store anything on on some "cloud service" I don't have control of. My pictures and music are on my SD Card and backed up on my computer and thumb drive. I've seen too many people trying to get a picture from some "cloud" and we're in a building they have a good signal in. I'd probably give this some serious thought when I want a new phone.

I bought my shepherd this phone not because it's the best in terms of Processor speed, network speed and ram for the price, I know that for 20 USD more, the performance of realme c3 is way above this. But this phone is build like a tank. Last week he dropped it while the cattles were running and it withstood the onslaught of their hooves. Yep, still fully functional.
Gotta give credit to the case too though.

dude, compare the phone in its price range, every phone fills a need according to price, no use whining why it doesn't have this or that, and it's dumb to compare with phones costing 60 to 80 dollars more
Xiaomi 9S it also has 5000mah battery and SD720g.
If xiaomi added IR blaster, notification LED & metal back phone with 20$ more like the Redmi4X, I will consider this as a backup phone or as a giveaway to relatives.

first why not buy it... everyone that have one said its already BETTER ( but less powerfull ) than a Apple iCrap. so yeah $800+ for a crap iphone that apple slow down with update so you buy the new one vs near $100 for one that beat it in every aspect but power ? the choice is easy....
second , in the description you say the mi 9 lite is a bugdet phone buts in reallity its a HIGH END phone... Mi are mid to high range for power but high end for quality.

Redmi stutter a bit this year when it come to their entry level and K series phones with both the redmi 8 and k30 receiving a downgrade in processor than their predecessors the redmi 7 and k20.
At the start of the year, redmi note 7, redmi 7, redmi 7a and k20 were amazing. the end of the year had note 8 pro but otherwise it was embarrassing.

Not a bad review but you can't compare to the Redmi Note series cause they're not in the same catagory. 100 bucks Redmi 8a is a really good phone consider the price. I'd be happy the back is plastic, easy to scratch but more durable compare to the glass back, 5000mAh battery with low end processor making the phone long lasting. And yes the phone doesn't have the fingerprint scanner which is a bummer but again, the price is low enough to not expect more.
Thanks! The reason why I compared this phone to Redmi Series devices because you can get Redmi Note 8 for $135 which is just $35 more but the Note 8 is way better in each and every department. I just tried to be as honest as I possible can, so I recommend the best bang for your buck :)

I bought uts really good
1. Redmi 8a = $ 95, cheapest Redmi Note 8 / Note 7 = $ 135. Yes, it just 40 bucks, but for budget person, that`s pretty huge gap.
2. I dont like premium looks / feels and how many camera it has. Point is, the quality. Camera amount mostly a gimmick ( except the real telephoto ).
3. Note series has FHD screen and it draws battery more. HD is still good to human eye, under 7 inches screen.
4. Note series use more power to work and that`s mostly overwhelmed by average user ( just to watch videos, light gamings, basic tasks, use camera ). And that`s `wasteful` efficiency considering you buy a power phone but for not heavy things, which is burn money out.
I have this phone. And I am happy for purchasing this .

bashing a 99 usd android phone for lacking metal case, nfc, finger print scanner etc is like comparing a bike to a motor cycle.
besides european phones has generally 1 sim card and lacks fm or ir.
this phone is for android newbies, spare phone or a developer tinkering with it in any way. my primary phone had nfc and for the active 5 year life it was never used because its actually faster to change settings by your self.
do you point out the shortcomings on this phone to other more expensive phones? you should if you want to be fair.

wouldn't recommend buyin it, bought one almost a year ago.
After 2 weeks of usage i started having problems with it, The phone restarted randomly for no reason, all apps started to crash.
I tried to fix it, did a Hard reset, flashed the phone several times, then i got to the conclussion maybe the backup i downloaded was the problem. So i flashed the phone again and this time i did not download the backup, things went right for about... 1 sec, the phone was still crashin and reseting.
I gave up, i did reported it, but it was worse, had a lot of trouble with the support guys, also posted in a lot of forums, almost everyone told me to gave up and just buy a new one.
If you are planning to buy a budget phone, this is not the one, you can risk it having the same problem i did, but i wouldnt like it someone having the same problem i had.
Also, if anyone thinks of something that could fix it, im all ears.
The only thing that can fix it is to give it to me😂
