  • Sewable Keder Rail is a PVC awning track extrusion designed to secure two fabric panels together. The soft flange is designed to be sewn through with a sewing machine allowing for greater track versatility and flexibility. Keder awning track can be installed over a gentle bend. Use to replace a zipper on canvas-to-canvas attachments for a more durable, leak resistant seal.
Pair this awning track with Keder or vinyl extruded awning rope (sold separately). Attach the awning rope to fabric and pull through the groove in the awning track.

I love this stuff. I work at Thunderbolt marine and we have used it for hinging cushions together for things like sun pads and lounge chairs. I rarely do canvas work but the upholstery side of our shop loves to work with this product.

Planning on using this to install something like a "sliding door" on the forward eisinglas of an enclosure on the next flybridge we do!

I just have a regular household sewing machine by Brother GX37. is that possible to use that machine to get the keder rope on at the end of an awning? Also, what size needle should I use?

Maybe, that is a small home sewing machine. If you can sew 6 layers of old blue jean materail, then yes it might work well.

Interesting, I have an aluminum rail on my camper, I wonder if the rope will fit in it? Is there a way to get a sample, like an inch?

No, sorry it is sold only in 4 foot lengths. However at this link we have all the specs with measurements: www.sailrite.com/Keder-Rail-Track-White

Is there a poundage rating on this system? Thinking of using this for a soft top camper design with swap able solid and mosquito netting side panels

..was there an answer to this question? ... the poundage rating? for the keder rail / rope connection -- if I use it to link tarps together?

What thread did you use and what do you recommend as stitch size?

      Hi Phil,
We used V-92 Polyester thread with a 6mm stitch length.

But what is it used for? Can you provide examples for its use?

It is used for canvas to canvas applications, sometimes in lieu of a zipper. For boating applications sometimes it is used in an extension panel between the bimini and dodger. I have seen it between cushions as a hinge joining two cushions together. I have also seen it on awnings as side panels.

@@SailriteDIY Perfect! I want to design some awning side panels, so I will try the sewable keder rail/ and pair with the keder rope to join panels to the awning.
