When I saw the title of this week's podcast, I heard Danny's voice in my head saying "nope, it's resource guarding.."😅
    Brilliant podcasts..👌

Only just watched this. Really interesting. I had a chocolate labrador who used to push between my husband and I whenever we had a cuddle. Sometimes she would really try to push him away or even pull his hand. We thought she was jealous and just laughed but maybe she saw me as the resource and was guarding it!

How on earth covid is an excuse to have an unsocialised dog I don't know, all we could do was walk. If it had gone on any longer I think I would have walked my dog to death,

Great episode. I’ve often thought my little Jackhuahua is jealous of my beagle but this has opened out my thoughts. Always amazing and Iove the show

We have 4 golden retrievers, have had retrievers for over 30 years. We will not allow 1 dog to push another out of the way to have a cuddle.
They all spoilt, but not to their detriment. They know their limits and what they can or cannot do. One of them will bark and growl at me when he wants to play. He is a pure working dog strain of golden retriever and was bought during the Covid period but he was socialised and trained just like the rest of our dogs.
I prefer being with the dogs than with people.

Please do an episode on how the dogs know time. My dog knows 4pm everyday playtime with her friend!

Space and time is interesting. My dogs wake up and come and look at me when it's time for feeding and when the clocks change they come to me at the old time but then adjust after about a week.

Who would have thought exposure changed behaviour for the better.......... not hiding dogs away from triggers !!

I have subscribed to your channel on recommendation from the lovely Trevor Coult MC. As a human l believe jealousy is a wasted emotion, but l know animals do not think as we do. Now my problem is this, l have a 7 year old 3/4 Chihuahua x 1/4 Jack Russell and my Daughter has a 18 month mixed breed dog. I have her dog every day from 5.30 am until 8.30pm. Each morning when she arrives and each night when she goes my dog barks continuously at her for about 5 minutes, but during the day l have absolutely no problem with them. It isn't jealousy because they both sit with me cuddled up in my chair without a murmour. I have tried distracting her with treats, an anti barking device without success. Any thoughts or ideas?

Can I ask- what is all of your interpretations of dog socialisation? Purely out of curiosity because to some it means interactions with other dogs and to other people it means dogs being around other dogs but not actually engaging.
