Love my city. It’s beauty rests in its unnoticed uniqueness. It would be pretty easy from the outside to paint all Midwest cities the same. The issue is, you really have to look for the pockets of majesty dotted around here. I think the biggest issue with it sometimes is that for a Midwest city, we aren’t always open to sharing our secrets. And I think I like it that way sometimes. Most people are friendly to outsiders but don’t tell them shit. Thanks for the spotlight on our home. It’s always fun to see outside perspectives.

I’m born and raised in KC and this video is accurate. But one thing the world should not do is count KC out. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? #DontsleeponKC
You have a point, but WHY don’t they care??? I think it’s because of the general mentality of our inner city, and the images of our options for representation within the HipHop space. I think K❤C would be more supportive of an artist with an image and message that they could stand behind proudly, in SOLIDARITY. With ALL DUE RESPECT ✊🏾🫡… N9NE is too “strange” for most (love/hate), and Factor has the persona of a major kingpin (with the investigations and rap sheets to match) but without an overall positive end to his means, or the visual images to accompany the lifestyle that he paints. And maybe it’s the way the marketing is handled but Pharrell, MF DOOM, Tyler the Creator, Uzi, Kodak, Yachty, Wayne, etc… make their “strange” seem a lot more normal and marketable than Tech has been able to do. How many degrees of separation is there really between the music of Jeezy, Ross, Jim Jones, and Nipsey, from Rich’s music!? Not a whole lot in my opinion, other than imagery and consistent mention of rising above the level of a Drug Czar. And finally, THE PEOPLE’s CHOICE, aka… MINDSET + MENTALITY. You reside in KCMO and if you are in tune with the environment and the people in the environment (not all of KC, but too much of it), you’ll understand this… K💔C Just a long history of oppression, depression, and dysfunction from people who never learned any better than what they were taught and shown. Just my thoughts. Be Royal, ✌🏾👑

They music still sucked KC has a style only those people love it will never go outside of that until they grow... Rich the factor had a good run, but him tooooo didn't wanna leave that raggedy mf city... The music, n style sucks in KC... Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Kentucky all Midwest rappers are getting somewhere because they are keeping up with the times
I think KC has a big issue like the rest of the Midwest cities do. They’re too far from the major cities out east and out west and don’t have their own style that’s cool like smaller cities like Miami or Atlanta or Memphis.
Kc is a major city, and they do have their own style nobody wants to sound like KC it sucks.. I'm a Midwest Girl all day I like Chicago, Milwaukee, St Louis, Detroit rappers just can't find to like the sound in KC
@@lavenderlunchbox I grew up in Chicago, N KC I went to Southeast Middle, n Metro Tech got my Gold teeth done by DR Myers on Prospect I've been all over the Midwest n believe me nobody is bitting that rap style, I ran circles around mf in KC because the people are slow street wise.. Don't get me wrong I love the city, food, my family but nobody is checking for the rappers.. The city needs to catch up with the times n just maybe some rappers can blow up that's all I'm saying..
Do 1 on Flint, Michigan We had rappers like MC Breed, Top Authority, The Dayton Family, Jake the Flake, and Jon Connor. If not Flint at least do 1 on MC Breed 👍🏼
Im from Kansas City born n raised 38 years I know everything inside out the reason why Kansas City rappers don't blow up is because they don't take the rap game seriously and don't have consistent work ethic of rappers who made it like 50 cent lip baby, Dababy etc
I’m from KC and have lived all over the country. There’s too much hate here and everyone has to prove how tough they are instead of linking up and getting to it. We should’ve had numerous big name rappers out here already
Tech needs to use his influence and status to bring more unity to the city. His label needs to expand and grow instead of being so niche. I get that the niche horror, fast rapping genre is what he thrived and made his money in, but he could be making money off other artists by having them on his label. This would also help people set aside their issues and forced to work together.
The only other successful niches out there are pretty much gangsta rap, mumble rap, and backpack. 1. He's a Blood 2. Fuck mumble rap! 3. Backpack rappers get no respect🤷🏽♂️
As a local Kc rapper i agree with alot of this I hated all the beef and turn my style to that of the internet highlighting nerd culture anime and video games with my Crew wax dabby showing that fun stoner rap with a splash of street like A kc odd future if you will. But with all the “overly hood music” its hard to find a lane, acceptance and more importantly places to perform at reasonable cost. End up paying hella money to perform for small crowds t

I'm fw this series fr fr I'm from Shreveport Louisiana the most mainstream rapper we had is Hurricane Chris...unfortunately my city is stuck in that killing spree,if I don't make it then you won't make it mindset too
Wayne from Louisiana

Thanks for shining some light on this place tho
I’m born and raised in KC and this video is accurate. But one thing the world should not do is count KC out. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? #DontsleeponKC
K❤️C

Please do St Louis
.we stunted growth big time
I like the hair analogy...😂💯
Thanks for giving KC its shine. Good or bad. KC is the town. My top 3 in kc 2gunn kevi, Rich the factor, KC young boss.
As a KCMO resident. Kansas City just doesn’t care about rap like that.
You have a point, but WHY don’t they care???
I think it’s because of the general mentality of our inner city, and the images of our options for representation within the HipHop space.
I think K❤C would be more supportive of an artist with an image and message that they could stand behind proudly, in SOLIDARITY.
With ALL DUE RESPECT ✊🏾🫡…
N9NE is too “strange” for most (love/hate), and Factor has the persona of a major kingpin (with the investigations and rap sheets to match) but without an overall positive end to his means, or the visual images to accompany the lifestyle that he paints.
And finally, THE PEOPLE’s CHOICE, aka…
MINDSET + MENTALITY. You reside in KCMO and if you are in tune with the environment and the people in the environment (not all of KC, but too much of it), you’ll understand this…
K💔C
Just a long history of oppression, depression, and dysfunction from people who never learned any better than what they were taught and shown.
Just my thoughts.
Be Royal,
✌🏾👑
Rich The Factor might not be industry but he’s a king underground. They love his music in Ohio.
Aye my boi smacc turner at the beginning . My city full of so much hate. They will make sure that you never make it out before you even get the chance to pop Rip Fat Tone and Mac Dre (even tho he from Vallejo). Nuttcase , duck (ccg) , trimmer , both smacks and all the other fallen soldiers.
This papa. They sleep on kc bro

Fat Tone was a dope artist! KC has a bunch of talent! Great video
Do one on the dmv scene please
Do 1 on Flint, Michigan
We had rappers like MC Breed, Top Authority, The Dayton Family, Jake the Flake, and Jon Connor.
If not Flint at least do 1 on MC Breed 👍🏼
Khalifa Ty , go Tap N 💯💯
For the algorithm! 💯
There’s absolutely a jail here
Im from Kansas City born n raised 38 years I know everything inside out the reason why Kansas City rappers don't blow up is because they don't take the rap game seriously and don't have consistent work ethic of rappers who made it like 50 cent lip baby, Dababy etc
Tech 9 the only KC rapper I know.
Lol
And that's all you will know cause the sound n music sucks
@@kanyegang2810 you sure do suck down them
Foot long chili cheese dogs from sonic
Rich Tha factor
Stevie stone had a few good albums.. Rolling stone was good.. krizz kalico, even fat Tone had some shit back in the day
I’m from KC and have lived all over the country. There’s too much hate here and everyone has to prove how tough they are instead of linking up and getting to it. We should’ve had numerous big name rappers out here already
K❤️C
✊🏾👑
This is a good idea
Fantastic work. Born & raised in East KC couldn’t be more accurate. Also can’t forget about 2 Gunn & 2 Times. Long live Tone
Thank You. Salute
2gunn is fye and KNG Likk
Tech needs to use his influence and status to bring more unity to the city. His label needs to expand and grow instead of being so niche. I get that the niche horror, fast rapping genre is what he thrived and made his money in, but he could be making money off other artists by having them on his label. This would also help people set aside their issues and forced to work together.
The only other successful niches out there are pretty much gangsta rap, mumble rap, and backpack.
1. He's a Blood
2. Fuck mumble rap!
3. Backpack rappers get no respect🤷🏽♂️

As a local
Kc rapper i agree with alot of this I hated all the beef and turn my style to that of the internet highlighting nerd culture anime and video games with my Crew wax dabby showing that fun stoner rap with a splash of street like A kc odd future if you will. But with all the “overly hood music” its hard to find a lane, acceptance and more importantly places to perform at reasonable cost. End up paying hella money to perform for small crowds t
How y’all get a video of my brother family gathering in😂
Also, can you please do Vic Mensa and Amy Winehouse
Do Hartford Connecticut next
Wow My city Finally getting some love 😌❤️
The Mac Dre curse
Is it? Im curious why you say that & he was from the bay

Do one on Baltimore rappers
Tech N9ne blew up and is a legend
He didn't blow up due to the support the hoods of KC, black support. He did it by outside support and white people.
@@djbop He is from Kansas City, so that is fact. And he had the foresight to make his music appeal to the masses, that is the point of being an artist. Also, he took his superior rhyming skillset to elevate himself.
@@nabateisles7550 Right, and Tech9 doesn't sound like the rest of KC..Those rappers suck and it's not a good sound the beats are horrible it reminds me Cali back in the 90's, and even they have grown outta that sound I knew it was real when CBO switched up

Tech is just different…nobody wants to hear the same shit fam..you gotta be hard hard. Lyrically and creatively
KC should really have a better music scene considering its history. Not just in rap amd hip-hop, but blues and rock too. It's kind of sad how the local scene has died here.
Oh definately
The spirit of the city is dead. Jealousy. Don't want to take chances with the different sounds of music. No support. No money...shit I could go on and on.
KC is the Town All Around The Globe Tho! Im glad we never went the industry route because we made our own industry! You should do one on Mississippi especially Jackson Mississippi
Request: The Cool Kids

KC Native here, even on the backpacker side, the jealousy runs rampant. Not really any killings but its certainly a "crabs in a bucket" scenario for as long as i can remember, and im talking about like at LEAST as far back as 2002.
Earlier than that trust. I was here in the 90's. He hit every single reason why there will NEVER be anyone other than Tech claiming here. He's literally the only one that survived.
I’m from KCMO and our rap scene is now on the rise! We even have really good RNB artists too. Here’s a list of artists that are coming up that you’ve probably never heard of do to the plethora of reasons:
1. SayberNSpace (hiphop)
2. Boi Mystery {COMO} (hiphop)
3. Tymon Kimber/CODENAME KEMBA (rnb)
4. OCN DALLAS (hiphop)
5. Kushro Junta (hiphop)
6. Witness McGee (hiphop)
7. CTB Bino (hiphop)
