Jimmy your channel is by far the best golf channel on youtube. I've taken lessons from different instructors, wasted a shit ton of money on training aids and other shit, and saw minimal improvement with my swing. This video hands down changed my swing and my game and instilled a lot more confidence. I literally went through every club in my bag and incorporated this swing concept and hit every single club further than I ever have without trying to crush the ball. Turn it, leave it and go! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I watched this awhile ago and I know now whose swing this reminded me of, David Duval, the only person who was able to compete with Tiger when he was at his best.
I have listened to so much “instruction“ on the Internet that I’m in knots. I played baseball my whole life, including at the college level and I could immediately relate to this. I have an open acre in the back yard and started hitting 52° in my yard and started smoking’ the ball. This is the best instruction I’ve ever received and I’m 72 years old. The ball is firing off the club.
First time viewer from the home of golf, Scotland. Love your stuff. I’m a disciple now man. Keep it simple. I am screwing up my 11 hcap swing looking for the single figure bullet. Going to work on this repeating swing. ⛳️💙🇺🇸🏴
Yup, best illustration of the golf swing EVER. BUT WITH ONE EXCEPTION. We never KEEP the head down….and Jimmy doesn’t do it. You keep it on its axis behind the ball and allow it to turn after contact. Keeping your head DOWN after contact, is a swing killer.
As I've aged, now 68, my swing has shortened but I still hit it long. But my friends were always commenting on how short my swing has gotten. An insructor at GT kept trying to get me to make a bigger hip and shoulder turn to unleash even more power he beleived I was not taking advantage of with my short swing. Well, my back and body just don't won't allow me to take a longer swing without really straining and I'm way less consistent hitting the sweet spot. When I do, yea, I can hit it a little further. But Its just not worth it. This video and your other one on "Half Swing" made me realize I'm ok just staying with my short swing and I still hit it past all of my buddies. So thanks for reinforcing this valuable concept!! it Absolutely works. Love it.
I agree and the ball goes straight every time because the club face is ALWAYS square to the ball and the target. Length is not near as critical as straight !
I used this mindset the last two times I played. I only played 9 the first time and shot 42, today I played 18 at a championship course and shot 87. I normally start getting frustrated. Not today, I was totally unbothered by bad shots. In fact, I followed up my doubles with pars today. This is such great info for people!
I played golf for 16 years but I have never had any body show me this way. I started playing your style, man it was amazing how much Confidence 8:37 I gained and easily won it. Thank you so much Jimmy for showing us your technique.❤👍👏😆
I've played golf for years. I've watched everything on TH-cam possible. My biggest frustration is consistency. That's my number one goal this year. I watched your videos last night. I played this morning. I kept it so simple just like you say. I shot 81 with no penalties and it was a very stress free fun round of golf. Thanks so much for the videos.

Thanks Jimmy ! Let me tell you I've been studying the golf swing for many years explained by most of the great players of the game , I took the game up when I was 28 and now I'm 65 and play and practice every chance I get since then , I remember one golf swing footage explanation that was in black and white and this man said just turn and take the club back and up as you are showing then he said now you are ready hit the ball , Just turn your body toward the target and hit the ball , And he demonstrated and it looked just like what your doing , So perfect and and powerful with balance , You are so correct in what you are now doing , Thank You for this Video , And I Think Mister Hogan would strongly Agree !
Hi Jimmy .. recently had lessons but didn’t help & changed my swing back after watching these videos .. gotta say I’m enjoying my golf again & striking it better 💪🏻 keep up the good work fella . Straight advice
Butter bing butter boom from Thorpe Bay England. Just played your method this morning was a pleasure to play knowing you can repeat your shots time and again. Tried years to hit ball then turf with this method didn’t even think about it just happened naturally. Thanks Jimmy
After 2 carpal surgeries this yr. I will adopt your good tips: low and slow. Swing to shoulders and turn to target. With your extra power today, you don't even need driver all the time to par. E.g. par 5. I think those were geese not pelicans?😅 Also like your hands fwd. Tip to start. Cheers
Thanks for pointing out the cause-effect relationships between excessive movement and the golf swing. Your teaching method is organized, straightforward, AND SIMPLE. By the way, the mechanics of the hips turning to swing the club (arms) are identical to throwing a right or left hook in boxing. The hips are involved. They move the arms to generate power (without the haymaker "backswing"). Thanks to your swing demonstration I am able to see a correlation between the two.
Thanks, Jimmy! I played a really bad round on Saturday and felt my backswing was a mess. Back to the drawing board this week to simplify the process. A 50 degree shot like that speaks for itself. You are generating great power.
61 and coming back to the game after about 12 years. Always struggling with over top swing. I get so jacked over the ball and swing for the fences. I know what to do but 100’s of swing thoughts in my head don’t help. Watched the video and went out back to hit some 9 irons. This was the easiest swing thought I’ve ever used. Now just have to learn to take it to the course. thanks for the advice.
That swing thought is money! Shot 81 today after watching and 93 two days ago. Driver felt awesome with this swing, just got to keep head down into impact as Jimmy says 👌🏼
Great video. Really helped me today. Repeated the mantra before every shot. Most difficult for me: Keep your head still 🤔. When I do it, good things happen. Thank you.
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy! You stole my stuff! Well at least now I don’t have to start my own golf TH-cam Channel. I call what you’re saying many different things to help people get it. “Get to the top and hold your angles “ “Rotate your hitting unit down to the ball” “Also I tell them there is no down I the golf swing “ And for back up as I see you have a doubter or two this is what the guru Greg McHatton teaches! He calls it “hitting the ball as late in the swing as possible “!! Great Video Jimmy!!!

I mean, my problem is over swinging, so this style of execution can; perhaps, pull my head out of my backside, so I thank you for that in advance; because I know you are sincere...well done.

Wondering if I’m rolling my wrist wondering if I’m inside out wondering if I’m outside in wondering if I’m going to hit another big‘s slice! If this works this is awesome I can’t wait to try to groove this with a simple thought
Your vids are really great for handicap golfers & showing without cuts adds credibility 100%. Great approach to teaching the swing, with the 'wave at the camera' and the shift to the left at the start of the downswing ( 'jacuzzi' got me thinking about a whole different approach to long putts) and the downward move of the right palm. It all works. In case some folk are confused re turning the shoulders, the reality, if you halt the downswing at impact, your chest still faces the ball, or just slightly ahead of it, the full turn to face the target completes the follow through....
Jimmy, I love your videos and your instruction. I spent 2 hours today at an indoor facility with Trackman. Driver wouldn't go more than 170, 7 iron was less than 120, 9 iron almost 90 yards. For some reason, I just can't do what you do. Likely never will.
Funny.. doing a version of this right now! I would ADD for "me"..perhaps only me, I lose "all tension" in my arms hands and wrists. I feel like I am holding an infant at the top of the swing...I mean "ridiculously" light arms. From there the club goes flying through the bottom with no effort. Its insane. Just bombing the ball. Soooo much fun! Love your videos...
Man - Jimmy you break it down so well - first time after years of hearing after arms at shoulder to turn belly button toward target..feels perfect..a-ha moment..everything is so spot on..do it slowly..key.

Loved that you duffed that ball in the rough after a good drive because that always seems to happen to me 😂 going to try this out my round for sure though.
great video. Q: when you turn forward (downswing) do you "feel" like you are swinging with your right shoulder, or just turning your belt buckle to the target and not thinking at all about your shoulder/hands/club etc? also do you think about "bumping towards target" at the top of your backswing, or is the bumb forward just muscle memory at this point?
This is something im currently transitioning to. Been hitting the ball cleaner and more consistently when I do it right. But sometimes still get armsy.
Weird but I have this same style with the chuck-it I use to throw a tennis ball to my dog. Without thinking, I keep my elbow tucked to my side, turn, and include a slight wrist action that adds a little more power right before I release it.
@@TropicanaEntertainment you're welcome--possibly the most helpful tip/reminder I've ever gotten from TH-cam, and I watch a lot golf videos! Well done!
wow Jimmy, this is by far the best tip & swing thought I’ve ever saw on youtube. I play golf for a little more then 10 years now and am just in single figures but always struggled with my driver (slices). The idea of only letting your arms to help you to the top of your backswing and then their work is done, is so liberating. It becomes almost impossible to come over the top then. Thanks for these videos and greetings from Belgium 🤘
Great video Jimmy! Often after striking the ball I find my arms begin to collapse and fold after hitting the ball and following through. Do your arms remain straight when following through and keep them going towards the target?
Good video Jimmy, does your lower back get sore swinging like that, man i got to do something else,i hit a 5 iron for 150 shot,i am 63 tho and play with blades but i sould be farther for sure.

Too funny, great video!!
Love your videos…and this one’s great!!
thanks for watching
Loved that you duffed that ball in the rough after a good drive because that always seems to happen to me 😂 going to try this out my round for sure though.
let me know how it works for you.
Great video Jim, your a natural.
Any chance of putting shot traces on ?
Love your wardrobe! Fred Couples look-alike from 1992!
Love boom boom Freddy
great video.
Im swinging with my lower body. Arms just go for a ride
This guy is the best!
This is something im currently transitioning to. Been hitting the ball cleaner and more consistently when I do it right. But sometimes still get armsy.
BODY BODY BODY
🎉😊 another great vid
Yay, thank you! Thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
Weird but I have this same style with the chuck-it I use to throw a tennis ball to my dog. Without thinking, I keep my elbow tucked to my side, turn, and include a slight wrist action that adds a little more power right before I release it.
thanks for watching! -jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
New to the channel Jimmy, love your work man.
More Jimmy Gold.
im glad you like it. thanks for watching
Almost trip over myself when a new vid drops. 8-)
Love to hear it Neil. Get out there and PLAY!
Awesome stuff!! At the top of your back swing Is your right hand still in the “wave to camera” position? Thanks
Yes. Always wave. Then just stop, leave your hands there and turn.
Wish you do a video on how far away should we be when we are swinging around are body . I feel like I’m too far away. Or on top of it
It's funny, you are a good golfer, and you also do worm burn shots! Thanks
So do pros on occasion. Pros shank shots, too. Pros miss easy putts as well.
Everyone hits bad shots. Part of the game
I lost it at the EH. EH. EH. 😂
Best idea ever!!!
Great video Jimmy! Often after striking the ball I find my arms begin to collapse and fold after hitting the ball and following through. Do your arms remain straight when following through and keep them going towards the target?
I make a V with my arms and point them at the target.
