Them being a barbarian tribe was only theorized because of the barbarian armor. The theory was still pretty flimsy even before totk because there are zonai stuff outside of faron
Why cant they be both,i mean, suppised "zonai" constructions litter the land and underworld. Plus, nobody saud the zonai where exclusive to the sky,so maybe the zonai branched of sometime ago to make the three zonai civilizations we see today

The Stalnox under Hyrule castle is implied by the books and signs around the castle to be a test for hylian knights to defeat in order to become some high level of royal knight, for which the Hylian shield was presumably the symbol and reward. Also, whilst the Hylian shield seems like it should be some important relic, usually in it's other appearances with only a few exceptions it is purchased or won rather than looted (LttP being the main exception) which implies they were a relatively well produced item inside Hyrule rather than some legendary one-off relic.
Lol yeah. Ocarina has it purchasable in a bazaar. Common townsfolk can have it. It’s iconic for us outside the game, not for the people within the games. The Master Sword is the truly legendary item

Yes, good point. Only since Skyward Sword has the Hylian Shield been treated as an important relic. In OoT and some other games it was just a generic shield you could buy if you lost. And even in BotW, while there is only one that we know of, it's still just another shield, just a very good one. There is zero importance to it, it's just something you can find if you look hard enough.
My favorite tip is that Stasis will show you which Guardians are alive and which ones are broken.
I will just be repeating what others have said, but Ravali is the most tragic character in the game, and maybe one of the best thought out LOZ characters ever. As various video essays have described, Revalis brash persona is only a front, a way for him to appear strong in front of the other champions, Zelda and his people. He was the only champion to have worked for his champion ability, whereas all the others were either given them at birth or were destined to possess them (Zelda and Link). In his Japanese diary entry, he describes how he wished Link would recognize his abilities, those which he worked so hard to master. In champions ballad, it shows him failing to live up to the strong persona he exhibits, lending credence to the idea that it’s the reason he had the flight range built so far away from Rito Village, so as not to appear weak. During his fight with wind blight, he was at an extreme disadvantage compared to the other champions. Ritos cannot see very well at night, and Revalis arrow of choice was the bomb arrow, both of which were exploited against him by the rain and darkness he fought in. The Vah Medoh theme exhibits how he was overpowered through the covering up of his SOS signal by the blights SAD signal. He likely realized he was in a bad situation from the start, and I wouldn’t simply chalk up us late SOS call to hubris. He wanted to appear strong, and he had already shown weakness in front of Zelda, something that was likely embarrassing and demoralizing for him. In his Moment of weakness, he finally realized that he truly needed help from his fellow champions, and especially link, help that would never really come. He fought valiantly to protect his home in bad conditions and against his own short comings, and he died fighting just like the other champions, confirming his skills and fighting prowess were on par with the other champions who he sought validation from in the first place.

Yes absolutely! And I adored his theme the most and it is just a generally melancholy but beautiful piece!
There's a bit more to the morse code one. It's a lot easier to hear with headphones, but it spells out SOS in one ear, and "... .- -.." or SAD (standing for "Seek and Destroy") in the other. Almost like the blights are sending out their own signal, since they're corrupted Sheikah tech, it makes sense for them to use the same channel. Like you said about the Vah Medoh one it sounds different in each Divine Beast, reflecting the champions. The way I've interpreted it feels quite grim, so just a slight warning:
In Vah Ruta the SOS starts up immediately, Mipha must have noticed something was up quite early and then sent the signal, but then after a while it sounds *panicked*, speeding up a lot. Possibly when she realises that she can't out-heal its attacks. Vah Ruta is also the only Divine Beast theme that sounds gradually more sad, maybe reflecting how Mipha doesn't want Link to have to fight Waterblight as she's worried for him.
In Vah Naboris it also starts up immediately, but sounds sporadic, like Urbosa was sending the signal out whenever she got chance between the fighting.
In Vah Rudania the SOS starts later, Daruk was a strong fighter, so maybe he thought he could handle it without bothering the others, but then had to put the SOS out.
And like you said, in Vah Medoh it takes Revali longer to put the SOS out because of his pride, but when he does, it's urgent. It seems more frequent than the others. When he finally realises he can't do it himself, he starts panicking because no-one's around to help him.
There's also the fan theory that because the champion's spirits are trapped, and because I don't *think* they have graves anywhere, they might have been corrupted and/or absorbed by the blights after being killed. I feel like Hyrule Warriors 2 kinda disproves that though. I haven't played it yet, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the blights looking the same in that. I know it isn't canon, but still.
Well, AoC does kinda say that but I feel like the timeline splits before Teriko (egg gurdian) shows up because of other minor details that are different from BOTW.

@@phyllojoe5346 The game (and every single game with a camera system) loads information of everything within a radius around Link. This is so that objects are ready to be rendered whenever the player moves the camera in a new angle. This very same system is used to track which items are to be replenished. The exact way it works is that, when a resource is collected, it sets a flag in the game's memory that an object has been collected. Then every minute, if and only if the object is also not ready to be rendered (thus it is a certain distance away from Link), a random number between 1-100 is generated, and if that number is 100, the flag is reset to its state before being collected. Thus when Link comes back the game knows to create the object and then render it to the screen, allowing Link to interact with it
there is actually another morse code message in the divine beasts. you can hear a faint, slightly different morse code message for SAD, or Search and Destroy. this is likely the phantom gannons.

The final room in the trial of the sword is also a blue variant of the Calamity Ganon room
I think there was a blue variant of it too with more destroyed walls, a thin layer of water and debris and decayed guardians on the ground depicted in concept art in the artbook actually

If you pay attention to the original Zelda u trailer, they are in the temple of time. Also those spiders obviously got reworked into the guardians, we don’t know how temple of time was ruined 100% in botw but this could have happened during the calamity then retconned.

That was clearly a tech demo showcasing what an HD Zelda game could look like. Everything from that video was taken from Twilight Princess: Link's design, the Temple of Time, and Armogohma. Nintendo did the same thing with the Gamecube Zelda tech demo reusing Link and Ganondorf's designs from Ocarina of Time.

I never knew about the tower theme being the ocarina chest theme. It really hammers home how BOTW’s fundamental value is that the reward for adventuring is the journey, with the map being your tool for exploration rather than an item that opens up the world more
Revali gets so much crap just because of what he seems like on the outside, if you look into his diary and other revali related lore then you’ll see that he’s actually just a shy overwhelmed champion. I explained it pretty poorly but there’s some videos that explain it a lot better than I did.
fun fact! from what i know the dutch translation is the only one that's describe link slience as "shy" otehr language usualy omite that's word. and say instead "With so much at stake, and so many eyes upon him, he feels it necessary to stay strong and to silently bear any burden" witch is closer to the japanese, french and spanish translation.

Man this video really makes me wanna play breath of the wild again. Im not one to keep playing a game after i beat it, but there was something relaxing about running around in that world. There was always something more to find and something to do. Something happening to Link's right arm that forces him to become left handed would've been awesome.
Watching this after the release of TotK, some of the things make a lot more sense now, like the hacks to the layers below-ground, or the spaces that are blocked but have rooms behind it.
You know what? I can't wait for the tears of the kingdoms iceberg being even taller in a handful of years.

@@rreprah9515 all of the abilities are better and more versatile. The story is so much better too, especially the ending. Better and more bosses and they’re all over the place. Fuse ability makes getting really good weapons much easier, zonal devices make travel and experimentation easier/possible. But really the story blew me away. Its so much better than BOTW in every way.

I didn't even know until leaving the Lost Woods that you could "get lost". I wondered in to the Lost Woods and I specifically said to myself "I feel like I should follow the wind and torches" and i did. It wasn't until I tried to leave that it reset me and I was really confused hahaha. 😂

I'm so confused by this clusterfuck of a sentence and the fact that there is footage shown of link sneaking towards the Lynel, hitting it, and then the lynel teleporting. Like the context makes no sense with the sentence
It is worth noting that the very first Zelda Wii U trailer was just a tech demo, sort of like with the Spaceworld 2000 one that looked like Ocarina of Time on GameCube or FFVII on PS3, in that it was never going to be a game but just a way to show off what the new hardware could create.

- The Master Sword respawning in the Korok Forest after its energy is depleted was probably abandoned due to it being tedious to backtrack to the forest to pull the sword from the pedestal each time.
- I always thought the Shrine designs were a shout-out to the original Legend of Zelda dungeon designs.
- It's generally accepted that Vilia is transgender and is the first transgender character in a Zelda game.

The Castle Dungeon Stalnox is the only one that gets up in front of you. So the animation exists.
Why Nintendo decided to have all other Stalnox only be present already up when you approach them at night, but not get up when you watch their bones, I never understood.
I really loved this video, I can't even imagine how much work went into this. Im currwntly working on an art Projekt and this video successfully carried me through a long time of being able to paint without losing motivation and procrastinating, so thanks a lot. That is wrong. This was never intended as a preview of the next Zelda game and was more of a tech demo to show off what the Wii U could do; similar to the one for the Gamecube that showed Link fighting Ganondorf.

Totk spoilers lol so don’t look if you haven’t played it:
The names of the divine beasts were first said to be the reference of past characters. But after playing totk and finding the secret treasure of each region (the divine beast helmets for the respective regions), I am starting to think that AustinJohnPlays’s theory about the names of the divine beasts might be true after all. He says that because when you wear the divine beast he’ll, your avatar wears the helmet of their sage ancestor. So the theory is, because the divine beasts were modeled after the first champions of Hyrule (aka the four elemental sages), the names of the divine beasts are the actual names of the four sages, meaning the sage of wind’s name is Medoh, the sage of water’s name is Ruta, the sage of fire’s name is Rudania, and the sage of Lightning’s name is Naboris.

You can go back as much as you want, using revali, you can escape most of the boss arena and explore most of them aswell
