This is great! I love Casios, I got one for Christmas in 1979.....I know I'm old! I got into modding them in the last 6 months or so, mainly colour gel filters, negative display filters and different straps. SKX MODS have done some great kits for the AE-1200 and AE-1300 so I'm really pleased they've branched out to other models. I know they can't do it but I just wish you could still have Casio on the face! Great job Kieron and brilliant video as always. Cheers 👍
Yeppp. That would be the best combo. Maybe there's one Casio model that has a faceplate that can be removed? It would certainly bring the Steel one to life with all of that classic Casio text. Oh, great you to mention it!!! I have one, I bought it in April, 2011. And it's STILL running on the original battery!!!😮 Great watch! The strap long gone (after several years), the watch stayed in a drawer for 5-7 years, only sometimes I got it out. I put a nice soft NATO than a bungee hook and loop strap on it. I had to file down some plastic to have more space between the case and spring bar but it was easy to do. I also put a screen protector on the "glass" (that plasticy one, like on smartphones). Although it is not an Illuminator watch, the LED light is quite decent on this model. I wish it would have the Illumintor but than the battery would suffer. Although, it offered 10 years and now it past 13. A SKXMod case would be really nice for this model.

I’m probably gonna pull the trigger at some point, but if they were to release an updated clasp with toolless micro adjust at some point it’d really make the case for me.
I can get how this is a big 'on the fence' product. With it being 3x more than the actual watch (for the case alone that is). Only you can truly know it's value. If you'll beat it up everyday and get your moneys worth, absolutely. I don't think it's something to sit around in a watch box though. Standard Casio does that fine enough!
Small correction: not the ultimate Casio, maybe an ultimate affordable digital watch, but not Casio. If you change everything but the movement, it's no longer a Casio. Just like those Pagani Design watches-they have a Seiko movement in them, and some of them copy the Seiko look. But that doesn't make them Seiko, nor does this qualify as any kind of Casio.
I think most can appreciate what these cases offer without needing to define them. Modding of course takes away that 100% authenticity, but a lot don't care about that with cheap watches. They'll just buy a spare. Most buy these for the fun of the creation. Putting something together like this is satisfying and does indeed transform a standard Casio into a beast! 💪

However, I find it interesting that reviewers (not you per se, but reviewers generally) HATE the Tissot PRX digital watches but praise these modified Casios. The digital PRXs offer a similar, if not better, look and quality.
Quality, probably so. Maybe not the butterfly clasp but that's that. Looks wise, I thinks it's an ugly beast (digital PRX that is). I don't think the display looks good in that case. But also you have to consider that these kits are good fun. Building your own watch isn't something you get to do often 😁
Agree! Prx digital are ugly! Display doesn't compliment the case.... it's just not meant to be... Complete failure in my opinion. Regular Prx on the other hand are gorgeous!! 😍
the case shape is not the same, it doesn’t even have the holes on the sides to change the strap easily and the bracelet is not made of bronze, just the case
What people complaining about the cost are missing here is this,you are getting,for less thay £200 a classic digital watch that will absolutely and without question last you for the rest of your life AND be a generational watch,they dont break amd of it did?theyll make this watch forever,the modules will be available no matter what. I absolutely think this a STEAL!!!
They don't, that's the point. There's a few steel models available, but they definitely don't have sapphire crystals. And there no where near as much choice. Something like this is done for the fun of it, and to get a great watch at the end 🙏

While you are correct in saying these don't have sapphire crystals, they are cheaper and come with Casio assembling them securely. I certainly enjoy watch modding, but I feel as though a Royale kit or metal Casioak kit makes much more sense than this one. Just my opinion.
I can't wait that chinese copy this and offer it for a fraction of a price. It's pretty greedy to ask 150€ for a kit to modify a watch that cost like a few €. And they know that they are greedy because every watch youtuber is making advertisement for them!!!

These mods really sterilize the watches. Theres a ton of charm in all of the text on the OEM Casio dials.
