I'm curious what different types of ammunition will do. It should be safe in theory. If not you could always empty the powder out and put the bullet back in. It would be cool to see different calibers and brass case VS steel and aluminum.
There are so many cheapo watches from Ali express to test out. I mean, you could do one episode with bunch of those. The watch community would be so thankful.
@@nunyabitnezz2802 I had to design the world's smallest deep ocean hydrophone. There was nothing available that is rated to that depth and could fit in that tight of a space.
The Skmei 1123 is amazing I ordered one from the Skmei Store after watching this! Where I am in S.E.A. I got it for $5.82 delivered, unbelievable value IMO!!
Super nice pressure test rig! It's hard to build decent one with windows and seems that you have had some of the same problems also as I have faced. I must admit that yours is much nicer than my version that I built from hydraulic cylinder with some sight glasses on both ends. I am not sure do you have some kind of quick release valve / burst disc in case some chemical reaction from batteries etc. starts to produce a lot of high pressure gasses or not sure is that even necessary. But that's one safety issue that I recognized myself before testing stuff like cellphones etc. with larger batteries. You probably know better is that even a thing?
Thanks! Yeah, there aren't many options out there for sight glasses at these extreme pressures and large apertures. The custom one I ordered cracked so I ended up making one myself. I was fighting leakage issues for a while. Even the thread sealants that are rated to 10,000 psi ended up leaking. Your set up is nice as well because you don't need to worry about any internal components. The windows on my lamps are still holding but I can see tiny internal stress fractures forming within. I do have a pressure relief valve set to the design pressure at 8700 psi but I'm not worried about chemical reactions from batteries. Lithium batteries are made from flammable materials and when heated or shorted, which flooding it with water would do, could start a chemical reaction. The reaction is exothermic but for an explosion to occur it needs an oxidizer and would be a "thermal runaway". The presence of water would eliminate that I would imagine. If any gases do form it would quickly compress and dissolve in the water due to the pressure. Love your channel. Thanks for the sub!
I thought it was interesting to notice that the pressure got high enough on the Timex to push the buttons in just before the water was visible on the inside, made me wonder if it was the button that leaked, or the plastic window... Great channel!!!
Thanks! I think you're right. That's a great observation that you pointed out. In that sense, the Casio is probably more functional underwater with better sealing on the pushers.
I'd be interested to see how some inexpensive analog dive watches hold up. Maybe something like a Casio Duro as a quartz example, and a Vostok Amphibia or Invicta Pro Diver Automatic as a mechanical example? Those are some fairly popular watches in that segment, and so it might net you some additional engagement.
I have a question, the timex t80 is the same as the PacMan edition wich i bought, but can you actually swim with these watches or is it only resistent against rain
Today i buy timex T80 TW2R79400 after casio PRG-240 11years using everyday :) iam curious to timex my father using timex.. i buy this very nice T80 its awesome watch :O i love it !

It's nice to see brands actually mean 3 ATM when they say 3 ATM, when a lot of companies use that rating to mean "maybe it's safe to wash your hands? I dunno."
If you're interested, I'll probably do a Casio F91W original vs hydromod side by side test after I destroy some other watches. Time to pick on some other brands...
I know all these watches tell you not to use the pushers under water. I wonder if the surprising resistance is down to this being sort of a best case scenario. No one is wearing the watch, banging it around, pushing buttons, etc. Anyway gives me a lot more confidence wearing my T80 in the rain!
Can you make popcorn with releasing pression on corn ? air go in the corn at hight pressure and when you release it expand making popcorn... like cold fusion or fission. You must have a box or a bag with air. Sorry if bad English, I'm French
Um. Could you do ice cubes? I honestly have no intuition about that. The temperature of the water in the abyssal depths is different from your setup I imagine, water is densest at 4C I think?
Second dibs? Since two have said first dibs and one has said third, nobody has specified second dibs so let's see how much of a stickler there is for it haha
Thanks for all your comments guys. Good or bad. Let me know what you want to see crushed on future episodes. Cheers!

How do you get audio from inside the canister? Any mic would be subjected to the same ocean pressure as the test subjects, yes?
The real issue with those watches was that once the case was opened to change the battery the seal was broken, and the warranty void.

The most underrated channel, I can't believe this channel doesn't have +1 million subs
I'm sure the algorithm will figure out that this channel is awesome and you'll see him jump up to like 50k in a few days.

It was the best 5 bucks I've ever spent... Before I destroyed it.
Thank you for the great tutorial, cool Retro- Watches. I couldn’t afford them back in the days!
I had a calculator watch in the 80s. That was totally awesome.
Me too ,but probably only used that function a couple of times as it was too fiddly for big fingers.😂😂😂😆
@@associatedblacksheepandmisfits I used a pencil most of the time. I even had one that could store phone numbers when I got a little older.

I was so excited to see how capable some of these old school watches in this channel! Keep growing and given us this amazing content
Thanks! I was really curious about this one as well. They actually all did better than I expected.
I forgot it! First dibs

First hour gang! You should try and do a colab with Slo Mo Guys. Would be amazing to see thing crushed at super slow mo.
Apparently it's a four year wait list for a colab... lol

Fascinating as always.
Could you crush cement samples
I think they would just saturate with water but I'll try it out to see what happens

Casio' and skmei worth buying !Timex over price!
i think at 04:04 it would have been better if you decreased the pressure to see if it survives, love the watch content btw!
Has anyone done a similar test on SKXmod Casio?
Wow, great test.
any chances on revisited this test with the oil filled version of those watches near future sir? thank you for this video.

That's actually the next episode I'm working on right now. It should be interesting...
also dibs?
Skmei is amazing for its price
In a future it will become a great brand, as it was back in its days Huawei mobile phones
dizayn kötü skmei, aslında kullanışlı..örneğin logo marka yazı tam ortada konumlandırılmış..çok göze batıyor, kibar bir dizayn olsaydi
Dose it keep tome accurate?
Styrofoam cup? People have taken those to extreme depths and they end up tiny. And solid...
It would be good to see these oil filled.
Timex..!
1:03 - smartphones are not cool. Regardless, interesting tests!
now let's do a rolex
