Nueva and Laguna = so different, how can I choose? Hah, I love the Laguna agates for their shadow banding and that last one - wow, it was so easy to see which isn't always the case. The Nueva agates were delightful for their amazing colors and banding. I really enjoyed all of them.
I have watched some other videos on cutting stones and you sir are my favorite. You teach as you cut plus you have a great personality. I'm always hunting for new videos and old videos that I have not watched yet. The rocks always hold so many surprises.
If not for Agate Dad I may never have started exploring the wonders of lapidary art myself. I love the videos and have a chance to see different materials cut that I may want to try. My goal is to cut agates from as many places in the world as I can.
Personally, I liked the Nueva agates the best - so-o colorful and with distinct banding. Yesterday I watched DOZENS of vides from your first years . I really enjoyed watching you and your wife "competing" on polishing with Dremel's, and her affirmative statement about it NOT what she will be doing on a regular basis 😃! WOW, you've come a long way with equipment and skill, but YOU are still the same in love with the stones fellow from the beginning. I admire (I think) you dedication to collecting in that (OMG) frigid cold water. Big difference to Arizona is it not! Watching these videos just warms my heart and makes me smile and laugh a lot too! Thanks for what you do!

I wondered how cutting one into quarters would look like. One of you cuts gave an idea of what it would look like. What about a round one +.cut like a plus sign???
See, that gritty matrix is exactly why I keep suggesting a Waterpik. Would be interesting to see what it could do to clean that out. Yes, I am persistent. 😛
I grew up in Laguna Beach. CA, but have never found any agates there? Maybe I'll run down to Agate St Beach and take a look? Must be a reason they used that name?
Isn't it fun though? We used to plug coins into machines so we could see what surprise we got, but we never got anything this permanently, unquestionably cool!

I love nueva agate. What I have done with the host one time because it was so crumbly, I scrubbed it before I cut. It worked really well.

The red color in the second one is striking. I like it a lot. The "eye" looks like a bead in a cup.

Liked the colors and the uniqueness of the Nueva agates, but liked the banding of the Lagunas.
