    Lee, I must admit, you're the most straightforward good old school pro.......You're just as open and friendly since I followed
    your advice just around the Time you met your wife on a yacht/sail boat. (your friends arranged the meeting and its so nice
    also that you're still happily married!! God bless and wish you continuing happiness!! THANK YOU for all the great-great help
    over the decades.

    great respect for Lee, its amazing how a shorter guy was able to still become an elite pro by having complete proportions and great shape and conditioning. Lee still walks the walk, and owns a successful company, all coming from just doing what he loves! talk about inspiration, hes the epitome of what every person in the health and fitness industry wants to be.

    Lee, I just want to say that you have become an inspiration to myself. Your humbleness and dire drive to succeed at everything that you do is unmatched. Your supplements are incredible, especially the Lean Body as a post workout protein supplement with my banana and peanut butter. I haven't yet reached muscle maturity but I can see that I was blessed with great genetics. My vascularity is great (always room for improvement) and my gains this past month and a half have been incredible. I hope to be competing against your son in the near future and wish you and your family the best. Great vibes your way!

    I have been following your videos for a couple of weeks now and subsequently subscribed to your TH-cam channel as I find your videos extremely informative and devoid of anything unnecessary which people normally resort to in order to boost ratings and look more "adapting to the changing times".Good old accurate information.And boy do you look great!
    I've got one query in context to your video.I've heard that fruit must be consumed in isolation and not with any other food type.Can you shed some light on this?

    Lee, you're the man. Great physique.... I'm looking for a little advice. I'm trying to get big, but at the same time, lower body fat. Especially in the torso. I'm around 14% now and really want more definition but don't want to sacrifice important muscle building calories. Any recommendations as far as macro ratios. I pretty much eat a balance right now very much like what's in your lunchbox. Thanks in advance, Brian

    • @Labrada
      @Labrada  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Brian. Thanks for contacting us here at Labrada. To maintain and lose fat I have found in the past 15 kcal per body pound per day is a good place to start. With a ratio of 35% protein, 40% carb, 25% fat. Now depending on genetics, and your own metabolism you may want to adjust the carbs and fats to fit what you feel is best for you. While keeping the proteins where they are. Of course focusing the fats in mono and polyunsaturated fat sources throughout the day. Also 0.5 gallons of water each day per 100 grams of protein consumed. I hope these guidelines help you achieve your goal. All the best Brian thanks again for writing in!

    Question, I've found that buying huge bags of bone in chicken are cheaper than breasts. Although that would be nice. The bags I buy are leg quarters, but I skin them and slice all the fat off, then bake, grill, or pressure cook them. They come in at $7.30 a bag and feed me all week. Am I safe in assuming that makes them just as good as white meat with possibly a gram or two of fat extra?

    • @Labrada
      @Labrada  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Arlington, I hear what you are saying... Trying to save costs when buying food is a challenge, especially while trying to gain muscle. If you are eliminating all the fat you can, then you are doing the best you can with what kind of meat you want to purchase. I don't know if you can assume it makes the meat the same however. All we can do is the best we can with what we have. Hope this helps answer your question, all the best this week Arlington.

    I love rice but if you are predisposed to weight gain you have to steer away from carbs as much as possible and stick to a paleo type diet. Gary Taubes' books talk about carbs and particularly fructose being responsible for western obesity. No need to avoid fats at all.

    Can we take just bcaa between meals or if we don't have time for even a whey shake as well??

    • @Labrada
      @Labrada  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure you can, our ability to generate dense muscle has more to do with our overall nutrition for the day then the shakes consumed between meals. As long as you're consuming around 0.8 grams of protein per ideal body pound per day you can recover and build muscle optimally. Hope this helps, thanks for the question.

Thank u and your team

    • @Labrada
      @Labrada  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Angel, thanks for writing in. We tend to recommend consuming BCAA on their own. One of the reasons is simply to ensure overall water consumption is met 0.6 ounces of water per pound per day is what we would like to see. This also ensures the bodies digestive system is primed to focus on only the BCAA and the same goes for the digestion of the nutrients in your veggie and fruit shakes. Hope this has helped. Wish you all the best with your fitness and nutrition goals.

      @Labrada  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mga7891 Thanks for the question, but unfortunately there is no way to tell how many grams of protein and carbs with the description provided. What we would recommend is buying a food scale. From here you can use Google to find out the amount of protein by weight there is in chicken. Hope this helps, all the best.

    I can´t eat rice anymore, it just makes me fat. I could back in the day but nowadays I need to keep the carbs very low. I never thought I would say this but I don´t think rice is for everyone. Oatmeal is ok in the morning, from then on and out the days its all lean meat.

    Interesting... I find that too much starch in the cutting phase makes it difficult to lose bodyfat plus the sugar from all the fruit is counter productive but i'm not sure what Lees training habits are and he has a different body structure than myself.I rely on whole granis early in the day and lots of veggies at lunch and dinner with some protein like chicken or fish throughout the day.Sodium,sat fat and sugar are the enemy I think...

    Same things I eat. Or almost any bodybuilder for that matter. I never get tired of rice and chicken though.

    Lee..question, after years of following your tips for fitness and such, i believe your truly a master of your art. But i have to say am confused, being healthy is one thing, but using a microwave to warm your food. After years of research, which am a doctor or oriental medicine, found that microwaves remove most of the nutritional value from the food. The Russians found this to be true and banned all micro waves from the country in the 80's..please advise .

      Hi Jr Droke, this is a very interesting topic. I have read a few research studies discussing the potential lose of nutrients but I have yet to find any article that is conclusive. I do try and use the microwave as minimally as possible though. If you can avoid using the microwave all together, it can only help. All the best Droke.

    Can I have low fat or skim milk? I often mix it with my protein shake powder.

    • @Labrada
      @Labrada  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kevin Pickell You're welcome to mix with any beverage you like. Skim milk is a great choice if you are trying to gain mass. If you are trying to lean out using water with your whey will cut down on overall calories. Hope this helps, and thank you for choosing Labrada Nutrition.

    Ok for starters...half the people that comment won't look anywhere near as good at his age. Not saying he's old. And he's true to fact. I try my best to eat clean foods, and enjoyed the segment. But..... I will say this. That is no lunch box . LOL! thanks for the video!!
