Been using it for about 6 months - both boom arm mounted and occasionally as a mobile recorder for note taking. It is a brilliant design and a very capable microphone, when used as you describe. In fact I love mine....
I heard a good studio sensitive microphone with a finely tuned frequency balance and absolute phasing. I am giving you a secret distance figure of 35-40 cm (14-16 inches). You don't need any further EQ, and trying on a pop filter can be replaced with a 11-14 degree turn.
I am actually interest in the boom arm you are using James but I can't fully see it on this video. I am hoping to find a boom arm that is table top free standing or can be screwed down. I am stuck for space so I can't handle the boom clamped to the front of the desk without having to keep dismantling it to use the desk. Etc. What ca you suggest? Regards, Iris
The arm in this video is K&M. The Rode boom arm is also a good choice: www.amazon.co.uk/R%C3%98DE-Swivel-Mount-Studio-Microphone/dp/B001D7UYBO/ref=sr_1_1?tag=radioco-21
Good question. I don't actually know the answer to this, I'm leaning towards probably not... but then you could just easily record the audio from the mic on your computer via another app whilst you're on zoom (eg Audacity).
I bought a neat little pocket voice recorder from Phillips and it was almost eighty dollars. But the sound quality is just a bit better than a cell-phone mic. If i can pay $200 for a mic with good sound that i can carry around for dictation, as well as use with my iPad pro 2021 as i travel, then i'd think this is worth the purchase. Not only that, it has sex appeal. And, as well all no in the recording industry: sex sells!
@@richardrichardw9520 We use the Procaster. Love it. It's a bit heavy so your gonna need a strong boom arm, but the sound is amazing. Absolute workhorse.

I wish this were stereo for ambient recording. That would make this about perfect.

Can this mic be used on a Zoom call AND record to it's local memory at the same time?

Yes, it can
