I feel like Jack Lukosius would have been a perfect one to go for if he didn't want to go back home to SA. There's not a spot in the Gold Coast Lineup for him but there is in the Brizzy team
Brisbane have a fantastic player already for that spot. Darcy Fort plays a great forward. He has paid his dues as emergency all year and when asked to step up crushed it.
Mate, footy is tough on the human body...even in my early twenties I would be limping for four full days after a game. We would all train with strains, bruises, strapped ankles, wrists, shoulders etc. Then you would do it all over again, by 26 I had had enough. You cant give 100% at work when you are banged up and sore most of the week. Still love the game but crikey, even today 30 years later I have a weak shoulder at the gym and get pain in my knees if I go road running. Its only money keeping these guys in the game past a certain age.
With the team the lions have and the players returning from an acl they need to keep morris and hippy and drop the 3rd tall. We have a few smalls that can play tall and we dont need to get any slower by going larger.
Go for Lynch. If you can get him on the oval. Tiges play some/lot of his salary. 8 games in 2 years. Tiges pay most of his salary. Great player in his time. List clogger now.
The game had moved on from Lloyd by the time he retired. By his standards he wasnt the same for a few years always diving. Still one of my favourite players even from that 1998-2001
Sorry for being a pedantic loser but Athletes in their 30s don’t really retire ‘early’ do they? That’s a longer than average career no? 😅 loved watching Joe as a neutral. Should have gone back to back!
Joe Daniher should’ve been the greatest footballer of all time, never lived up anywhere near his potential, sadly he never quite got it between the ears. Played very good footy on talent alone but just lacked brain power
Joe Daniher is not a superstar,he was too hot and cold.He sounds like another Essendon player,Gordon Lane who played in the 1940's,a talented but erratic CHF who played well in finals.
He still kicked 119 goals in the last two years alone. Whether he was hot and cold that's alot of goals you need to find somewhere else. Those goals won the Lions alot of games. Hard to replace
@@SgtStressful Gordon lane kicked bags of 6 and 7 in two Grand Final but only football historians have heard of him.Read the fabulous Dick Reynolds biography,Lane frustrated the coach because he had the ability to be great.Still a good player but forgotten about in 30 years.
Why isn’t Cyril mentioned? Bro retired at 28 and was one of if not the best forward in the comp with his amazing skills.
pre 2017 for sure, but his last 2 season were injury plagued and he couldnt regain form
We will miss you forever joe
Brandon Ryan only been at lions 1 season, and infact played quite well for hawthorn at the end of 2023
Would Tom Hawkins play on another year?

@@jackduncan7214 he has the media on his back the whole time. Give the man a break. You must have forgot his clutch goals in the GWS semifinal game
