The last time I saw Amit he told a story about how he acquired the cello he plays. It's a pretty good instrument. I forgot the story already but it was interesting. Great performance by the way.

+grg ww Because he is sitting slightly forward of the group, he is a bit closer to the microphones. We use a single stereo pair to record our concerts so we don't have the option to mix the sound.

I don't know... A concert is a story... it is interesting to hear it from just one "narrator". I've played with a teacher of mine playing the solo, for example, and it's a wonderful experience, for us and for the audience. The students always have other opportunities to play solos. But, of course, it's my opinion.

I LOVE this performance. Peled is so relaxed, and he doesn't rush the tempo. It's very laid back and stately.

If you mean by how long the endpin is, different cellists hold their cellos in slightly different positions, according to taste.

Bizarre. Why doesn't the teacher give the students an opportunity to perform the solo line? They could switch it between them even.
I think this is a good performance, but it would be even better if some of the students got to play parts of the solo, instead of just the teacher.
