The brain matter wipes off perfectly easily. The bits of skull might lodge themselves in the board though, making it easier for the little bit of blood to seep into the wood pulp those old school blackboards are made of. Makes you really think: When you are rude or mean to someone you could literally be the person that pushes someone over the edge without realizing what they have been going through or have gone through! It is a great idea when you are angry at someone to stop and cool down before responding. Usually if you take a minute or however long you will chill and either respond in a more constructive/positive way or not at all. We need to develop a higher sense of empathy for each other. We are all on the same planet and all go through things.

One of the few songs I have ever heard (coupled with the video) that causes my throat to clench. I am not normally an emotional person.. but this song/video combo never fails to bring that out of me. Much respect to both Pearl Jam for making this and for everyone whom listens to it and 'gets it.'

Ayyy straight up this. It gets so much better later, it’s worth plunging ahead even if it feels like nobody else has been through your exact situation and can’t quite understand. It’s how many of us felt! But it’ll get better real quick in the scheme of things trust me even when it feels like it’s taking forever.

OK, so this is one of the reasons why I love this. Lex is smiling and dancing blissfully unaware of the horror that’s getting ready to take place. You too are so upbeat, makes me smile. Thank you for taking us on this ride. Eddie Vedder is one of the greatest storytellers in music. He can take you to a whole different place.

Pearl Jam - Ten is an album classic. I was at he end of high school when this came out & still gives me chills & awesome vibes. I remember hearing this for the first time & where I was, in a Virgin Megastore in Melbourne Australia & had a listen to it at those listening stations. I walked out with the CD.

Just wanted to say (and this comment could apply to any of your videos… but especially the Pearl Jam ones), that you guys are my favorite couple on TH-cam. As someone who was taught to truly appreciate all layers of music growing up - I love that Brad will sit and dissect the lyrics and find the bigger meaning; while Lex just exudes happiness and enthusiasm from the many different sounds and instruments. Your combined energy and excitement makes every reaction video enjoyable.
Keep up the great work - and keep the appreciation for old school music rolling. You guys are killin it!!!

In a documentary about the suicide some of his former classmates were interviewed and asked about the song and some felt angry at the making of the song because they felt it was not fully accurate. I personally believe they didn’t like the accusations of bullying because it made his classmates feel guilty about his death

FUN FACT- The edited version of this video ( which is what was primarily played on MTV and MUCH MUSIC in Canada) cut out many scenes including the gun at the end. The editing by the record company was the primary reason why PEARL JAM suddenly stopped making music videos during the prime years of their success. The group was so upset that the main message of the song was edited out of the video. It wasn't until many albums later that they finally did another music video. Keep smiling 🤘 🙂

This is absolutely my favorite Pearl Jam song. In fact, this whole album is perfection. To me, it's their most poignant album.
Since you know the backstory of this, I should also note that the parents of Jeremy said that Eddie Vedder never spoke to them about anything to get his inspiration. They said they didn't appreciate him painting them as bad parents because it gave a false picture of their family dynamic.
They said they were harrassed by strangers and got death threats. And dealing with all that, plus just losing their son.

    • @Melanie-AlwaysJustMe

Im glad someone posted this. Pearl Jam never reached out to Jeremys parents. Apparently Jeremy had a good home life from what I read the parents said. I can't imagine having a song done about my child killing themselves, and have to bear the pain of losing them and then relive it deeply when they hear this song..lord the pain they feel 😢
