Dam , these never get old and EVERY YEAR I am STOKED when @Competitionplus posts everything for this race -- I LOVE these, and they just grow on your more and more and more and...😊🤘🏻 I say it a lot but thanks for all the hard work you guys put in!
Used to fly my airplane to the airport next door and walk over to the strip. Great place with tons of old school drag racers. A real time machine place out I the middle of nowhere.
Literally in an orchard. Can feel the years passed when you pull in, I miss the bud warm ups. Well worth freezing your ass off to go to that when it was around.
Yeah when I see guys not having tear offs...well, I'll change the story a little bit - I was talking to Adam's Sorokin about exact thing, because we were talking about his canopy and he said he wasn't a fan of it at first either partially because of the look (we agreed, butbotngrew on me and him - was how this conversation started) and when the motor blows up you don't have have windshield wipers or anyting LMFAO, you're just blind, then started laughing like he kind of enjoys the chaos of it.😁 But I brought up tear offs and I said to him, why do guys not wear them and he goes, because they're stupid, and I just lost it laughing, which in turn made him laugh, but yeah it doesn't make you a puss cuz you put caraway's on your visor it prevent you from hitting the wall maybe or hitting another car and so on so yeah I'm not sure why I went on with this story but there you go lol :-)
I don't watch much drag racing anymore, but where have I been. I don't think I live under a rock, maybe I do lol. But I thought 99% of top fuel dragsters were rear engines. Has anyone got a answer.
@@sanfranciscobay No computer controls in nostalgia racing. Sometimes the crew chief might want it a little fatter or lean and they can make minor idle adjustments. If you look at the Circuit Breaker, you see my buddy todd looking at the digitial display until the other car is ready to go.
Hey guys tell me if I'm wrong but don't these motors always get lean at the top ? Is there no way to fatten em up so they don't burn piston's at the top ? These poor guys must buy pistons by the case
We have a few things we now try to do to keep the air curve flat with the fuel curve. We're limited as to how we do it with no fuel management systems allowed.
As it was before garlits got the rear engine right. Some really really beautiful vintage racers out there. Saw one with 2 hilborn injected sbcs a few years back, absolutely wicked. Don't believe it was a fuel car tho.
love where that camera is positioned when the race down the strip. It's perfect
A little slice of drag racing heaven out in the middle of nowhere...Love the MARCH MEET.
I know I've said it on the other class coverage's, but again, Thank's Competition Plus, for bringing us the best drag race anywhere.

Call me a geezer, but FEDs still get me excited!
The video coverage was absolutely fantastic Bobby
Wow crazy good close up video, Felt like my eyes were watering just watching.
Old style (rear-seat) , dragsters ARE more dangerous ; but they look cooler, and bring back memories of the old days !!
What the world needs is more hot rods and back up girls LOL
I'll bet you never heard of Jungle Pam, back in the day. look it up.
Keep it tight n' short
Great team win. Well earned. ⚡️⚡️👍

I swear I put the phone closer, I smelled NITRO 😲🤣 Enjoyed the video, thanks for posting.
Thanks CPTV!
4:45 - 4:55 - Boing boing boing... I'm surprised he didn't back straight into the tree with that show going on up front.
Well, at least NOMAD got the choice of back-up right ... no ? ;-)
I love the tear off on Murphy!

Lots of guys blowing smoke on the big end.
Nice video guys love it.
I know they remove a throttle stop pin after the burnout, but what are they fine tuning or setting just before they roll into the lights?
Final idle adjustment
Awesome buddy
why can't these Front engine dragster join as a main event during NHRA weekend on t.v.

Rob Cbs - modern cars era cars are rear engine these are nostalgia themed front engine cars
Thank you, I thought maybe I was losing it for a while
Was the runner up running a big block Chevy!?
All great coverage from March Meet 2020, but do you plan to do a recap video of Fuel Altered final eliminations? Or did I miss it?
I would love to see that too!
did the corona hoax kill this event for the fall?
This guy cleaning the tire with bare hands at 13.47 and after that, cleaning his hands on team mate's shirts at 14.52. lol.
That's Riley, I'm cleaning the tire on the other side. Not sure what happened to his gloves, lol
Given the choice? would rather see this than any modern TF car... no denying the performance of the modern cars but they lack personality and heart...
What are they pulling off the motors after the burnout?
throttle stop
What are the pit crew typically doing around the intake up just before the launch? Seems this is standard procedure, but I'm not sure why?
I believe they wait until the last moment to change the computer that controls fuel settings, shift settings, clutch settings etc?

Michael Laverty limited to a 20 gallon pump in NTF - these guys do their best to keep em alive while going through the lights, with what they got.

No Tony Bartone
This may be a dumb ?, but what are those guys doing to the engines just before the cars get staged?
It's a throttle stop used only for burn out then removed for full throttle during race .
@@johnpena9165 thanks
Slingshots? Do they have their own class?
front engine top fuel?

What's with all the hugging and kissing at 14:48?
