This saves me so much money from having to buy the elgato cam link! Glad they added this as a feature
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
I would like to use this camera for 4k streaming via Camlink but I wouldn't work. Are there some settings of HDMI connection I am not aware of?

iFootage RB A200: amzn.to/3MRQRa6
i dont have the shogun. Please, how can I use the FS7 with vmix for livestreaming? I will be happy if u do a video
Thanks for the help bruv! clear and easy to understand. :)

❤Nice vidéo. I am using my Sony A7S3 as a webcam. Which option gives you the best image quality to record a video ? (Not necessarily streaming)
I have a MacBook Pro.
1) cable USB c - USB provided with the camera
2) usb c - usb c
3) camlink 4K with hdmi cable
Thanks for your video and your help🙏
If you have a USB 3.1 port or higher, the USB works really well. Personally I still prefer using the camlink with hdmi connected from the camera.
@@DoubtMeTech so you mean the image quality with usb 3.1 would be higher than a USB c- usb c ?
Yes I think I would go with the camlink as well but just want to be sure before making a choice.
Image quality won't really have a noticeable difference. But I prefer using a camlink because it's less processing for the camera to do and it keeps the camera in regular modes instead of a USB mode
@@DoubtMeTech thank you 🙏. Appreciate your help 😊

Hey! So when I'm streaming from this camera the lighting is going lighter and darker throughout the stream. Its a new thing I just recently have seen, Why do you think this is happening?
Maybe you're in auto ISO or auto shutter speed and it keeps changing the exposure. I'm always in manual mode and choose my ISO and Shutter Speed manually.
You have a link to that desktop camera stand on the left side of the screen?? Been looking for something like that ! 🙏🏾
This one is great. Here's the link: amzn.to/3SsBiH4
You still need a fluid head or ball head, so make sure to get one, but as a stand, it's great.
Really sweet function, well explained ✌️
I greatly appreciate that. Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
When I run my A7iv through OBS it seems like my video lags a little. On the Sony screen is fine. But through OBS it lags. I am using the cord that came with the camera and my USB port is 3.2. Would you happen to have any suggestions? Good video buy the way
I have the same issue. When I press AF-ON or half press the shutter button, it seems like the FPS on OBS goes back to 60, but after a couple of seconds it drops back to what looks like 60fps. Did you fix the issue?
Just a heads up for anyone, the only issue I'm experiencing is that the camera only "charges when the camera is turned off" it doesn't charge while its turned on in "streaming mode"
If you have the means to buy a capture card, do you recommend buying one over usb?
I personally prefer to use a capture card. I like using the elgato Camlink 4K.
Here's a video of the setup process with the camlink:
th-cam.com/video/A2iUO4ZaDhE/w-d-xo.html
What stand do you have that Sony camera on ya desk?
This stand: amzn.to/3T0mYG8
If you need a ball head, this one works great: amzn.to/3efa0FS
will it get overheated if u stream for a long period of time
Not if you keep the screen opened all the way
so useful, thanks a lot buddy! another question, when choose the "USB streaming" , the picture profile set was gray and cannot change, does that means when live streaming via USB using a7m4 , we cannot change the picture profile in this camera?
You have to change the picture profile before going into livestream mode
How good is the Sony A7 Iv
It's amazing for both video and photo
I am using my Sony A7IV as a webcam on my computer. I am using the Sony provided usb cable. I am noticing lag or a delay on my video in Zoom. It isn't much, but it is very noticeable. Is there a way to fix the lag/delay?
Could be the computer can't handle the data transfer. Make sure you don't have too many pages or apps open when streaming
How to turn of a7iv camera display while streaming?
I know this probably sounds basic but how were you bringing in everything to record it? Through the camera's themselves? Through OBS? All of the above? lol
when using camlink4k in sony a71V and stream in 4k in obs is the stream crop ??? thanks
Unfortunately yes. Whatever crop happens in camera, carries through hdmi.
@@DoubtMeTech thank you
@@DoubtMeTech how about in a7III ? is it crop also in 4k ?? when streaming ?
What will be the battery backup ? How is the performance if one wants to stream for more than 6 hrs a day.
Have it connected to the wall via the USB cable and you'll be fine
@@DoubtMeTech so in this case I will have to use usb for charging and hdmi cable with capture card as source ?
@@prince-sonawane You can use the Micro USB for charging. Or you can also get a dummy battery that connects to the wall.
Excellent! Thanks
Happy to help. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Awesome Video!! Have you had any overheating problem's? I have seen that on some other reviews. Have you used any other Sony A cameras for livestreaming. Keep up the great work.
I've used a lot of Sony cameras for livestreaming and haven't had any overheating issues on any of the cams. Just open up the screen and dont have it against the camera body.
Awesome! Thanks for replying. I will pick up a mark A7IV and try it out!
@@yourloved6741 Happy to help. Thanks for watching
@@yourloved6741 I am having overheating issues. Did you manage to avoid those ?
Doesn't work if you use USB power and streaming. Mine works for 25 minutes and camera crashes
Hi, I'm using Sony A7iv as a webcam for zoom. I setting in Camera:
- Shutdown Auto Turning off
- Livestreaming USB
But the Sony auto shutdown after 10 minutes in zoom. How can fix this?
Mine shuts off after like 10 minutes? Is it overheating because its getting power and data
What lens are you using when looking at front of the camera and also when using the USB angle plugged into your laptop? Lastly is it me or is there a slight qualify and color difference when using the USB VS recording straight into the SD card? Thanks for the video and look forward to your feedback. :)
The lens I'm looking into is the Samyang 24mm f1.8 lens. The USB angle lens is Sony 14mm f1.8 lens. There is no noticeable color or quality difference between the USB and the memory card. The reason they look different is because they didn't have the 2 cameras didn't have the same settings. I had to increase the ISO for the USB angle because the lighting wasn't set for that angle. But in the same lighting situations and angle, the quality would look pretty much the same
@@DoubtMeTech so if one was just doing TH-cam videos would you agree that an expensive SD card is not needed ?
@@safetyhomeloans950 Yes. I use the Sony G memory cards. V60, UHS II. They are affordable and work great
Unfortunately if you enable Powering via USB while streaming, the camera will overheat after around an hour and a half or so (tested in 1080p60) ... I will have to try to power the camera with a dummy battery maybe ... But couldn't find a recommended one yet
Mine did after 30 minutes! it then wouldn't turn on for a few minutes and then shutdown after 10. Maybe firmware update will fix trying it now.
It might last longer if you shoot in 24 or 30 fps. 60 is overkill
@@arziesart1306 60 not overkill when the content alongside the camera is 60
Does the camera get hot?
It gets warm, but I havent had any overheat issues. Make sure the screen is flipped out and not against the camera
@@DoubtMeTech thank you
My camera auto turn off when streaming. How can i fix this issue?
I have only 25 fps 1080 for streaming. Why is that? Version of software is 1.11
Can't you do type C to type C?
Yes you can. Just make sure it's a USB 3.1 gen 2 cable
had to totaly reset initialize my camera, to get it to work, it was always greyed out. it kept saying what the problem was, but it was not. now ill start changing settings, and it will quit working. i hate this, about Sony Cameras. Best experience, turn usb power off, use a dummy battery, and leave the screen open, dont dual record unless you want a Crop if you select 1080p 60. Far easier to just use a capture card, in the end, and you can do 4K 60 if you buy the right one. any usb, is going to be 4K 30, none of them do 4K 60. buy the avermedia live gamer 4K Pcie Card or the Thunderbolt version, same device.
my hd is 50p why isnt it 60p?
North America is 60p. You might have your camera set to PAL instead of North American NTSC
@@DoubtMeTech oh thx :)
