    You can bet your bottom dollar that she did the right thing! I am so proud of her! Thanks to Life magazine Daily for posting this video! I've known more than one woman in my eighty years on this earth that opened their home to other precious children that had either been orphaned or whose parents were unable to take care of them. These women, and their husbands also, deserve medals, because of their love of children or that they are willing to take on more than their share simply out of their love for children and their fellow man. May God richly bless them & their families and the little ones to whom they've opened their hearts and homes!

    My mother took in foster kids and ended up adopting one of them. My sister took after our mom and started taking in foster kids. Now she has 3 kids by birth and she and her husband have adopted 11 of those foster kids - most are high risk. One young man that they weren't able to adopt still keeps in touch. He is So. Korean and he, his wife, and their baby keep in touch. Fostering is a calling. Believe me, they didn't do it for the money. They are very soft-hearted and I'm very proud of her.

Unfortunately, it's all too easy to mock and critiscize, especially when poeple haven't experienced true hardship. There's nothing more disgusting than people who think they know everything, when they really know nothing. Good for the lady who helped the foster mom. If everyone would think about what or how they could be of help just one time during each day, this world would be such different place. All you foster parents out there are doing God's work. Thank you!!!!

    Absolutely! Rude people need to be made aware of the fact that judging others without all the facts makes them look stupid. Lindsey showed this new mom compassion and understanding and encouragement. She did not have months to prepare for these little ones. Their loss was fresh and scary. Everyone within earshot of this scene, were given a lesson in kindness. These little ones were blessed to be placed in a loving home.

    Absolutely, 100% thumbs up. My wife passed away a couple of years ago, but, over the years, we fostered 101 kids, adopting 4, (she already had 4 biological). Most people don't realize (or care) how many kids there are like this in our society. Then we wonder why a disturbed teen does terrible unthinkable things. If everyone would do just 1 kind thing for someone less fortunate, our country might have a chance of coming out of its path of self destruction

    Bravo to her, she didn't even think, she just stood up for her fellow woman. That's what we should all do, if you see wrong/injustice, speak up. Some people need to be checked and put back in their own lane. NOBODY is better than anyone else, we all put our britches on the same way, one leg at a time. Never judge a book by it's cover, you have no idea what is going on and the current circumstances of strangers. That couple should be ashamed of themselves and I hope they are so that maybe they can be an example and stop this crap from happening to someone else.

      April Dannette Another thing I thought of why the couple were so insulting and scathing could be that they cant have children and these people can.get critical of peoples parenting styles because they have this assumption that if they had/have kids that it woukd be more special more loved. behave better because their little Prince or Princess will be perfect and want for nothing. Seen it.

    True or false, this is a wonderful way to respond to someone with such a negative attitude towards someone else trying to make ends meet. It is a scenario that generally occurs in real life and the ending is not farfetched. A similar thing happened to my Sunday school teacher at a Wall-Mart checkout before, and his response to the situation was similar in some respects. I don't know about other areas, but something similar happened in the American South. Whether you believe me or the video or not, there is still a lot of wisdom to be gained from this video. =)
    P.S.
    Not everyone thinks to start recording every time something amazing may happen. Having some kind of proof of the act is typically the last thing on someone's mind when they're busy helping someone else.

I will show no mercy to people who think it's okay to look down on others just because they arre different. I have news for them: Everyone is different in their own way. So I'd tell them to shut up and leave that person alone because they have no right to say that to another human being with emotions and a personality.

    This story touches me deeply. I also spent some of my early years in foster homes, and have experienced being prejudged. Just a little kindness goes sooooo far. Not all foster homes are child centered and loving though.Wishing this new Foster mom lots of wisdom and courage as she seeks to do her best for her foster children. Well done to the lady who gave a little lesson on compassion to the couple passing judgment about
    them, without shaming them.

    • @Quinn37
      @Quinn37 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Its very rare. And when you accept fake as real, you are subject to manipulation. When you substitute your feelings for truth you are unable to live in reality. The degradation of society is proportional to the degradation of critical thinking. Your comment is a complete absence of critical thinking, and therefore a much greater determent to society than rude comments made in public.

    High praise to both of these women. God bless them and all of the children. I can’t stomach people who think having money makes them better than those that are barely scraping by. My husband hates shopping with me, because I am always, as he says, sticking my nose in other peoples business. But, I cannot just look the other way, when there is a wrong being committed. I am 64 and I remember more than a few times when if I would only have just been acknowledged as a human being in a bad situation would have made things a little bit better. Sometimes just a smile or a kind word can turn someone’s day the other way. I grew up seeing my mother used as a punching bag. I tried to protect her when I was 8, and ended up with a broken nose. I have never been able to look the other way when I observed a situation where I knew or suspected a child or a woman was being abused.

God bless her for helping as so many people are judgmental when the see mixed racial children with a family !! There are more reasons to stop & think for couples work at Children's Homes as Houseparents & others are Fostering kids who need a loving family & some are adopted & some of course are from different fathers & that one mother ! But thank God they weren't aborted or left on the streets but some precious mom or couple are taking care of them !! Those "people" are upset at millions of other "people" that have eight kids and no job, the "men" that brag about having 10 or 12 kids and the "women" who have a herd of children because they are apparently promiscuous and won't insist on birth control. Sex is like a hockey game and the woman is the goalie keeping herself from getting pregnant. Of course the man should share responsibility for birth control, but it is ultimately up to the woman whether she gets pregnant or not. It's her body, after all.

    I really can't stand these robotic voices but sometimes when I come across them I just soldier on through it in hopes that there is a sweet heartwarming ending & that's definitely the case with this video. I'm happy I sat through it. Both of the women in this tale are wonderful compassionate SELFLESS women. There should be MORE mothers, & people in general, like them in this world! People are so quick to judge others anymore when they haven't a clue the entirety of what someone else could be going through. Who are we to judge others??? We need more compassionate loving human beings in the world, not only when our country/state or cities are in crisis but EVERYday.

Sometimes I wonder if people even see me as they knock into us. It was a hard transition from 3 to 4. Thank god for my 11 year old son who is a gentleman and opens doors and carries bags for me. @angiew2324 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hater of Humans, I think you, and many like you, believe that more abuse the system than don't. That's absolutely not the case!
      As she said before, it's humiliating pulling out that food stamp card, or telling the receptionist at the doctor's office, in a room full of people, that you or your child has medicaid. Most people won't go through that if they don't have to.. and that's not even mentioning all the hoops you have to jump through to get approved in the first place. It's not as simple as filling out an application and getting approved. If you're lying, you _will_ get caught. It's not hard for the government to verify information about someone so they _will_ find out...and they _do_ look into each and every person.
      I wish everyone had to go through the process of attempting to receive assistance and then have to live on the assistance for a period of time. It's nowhere near enough money to survive on, even if you receive cash assistance/welfare on top of everything else. It's not worth the headache and the embarrassment if you don't actually need it. Most people would be in shock if forced to give up their assumptions and face the truth.

    • @angiew2324
      @angiew2324 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hater of Humans, I actually wasn't trying to argue with or offend you, and I apologize if my original comment came across harsher than intended. However, I've worked in grocery stores, too. That doesn't tell you anything and in fact, even mentioning that and saying that's seeing it first hand shows that you missed the point of the video.
      The absolute only thing you're seeing first hand is a fellow human being using a food stamp card. They can have a designer bag, an expensive new iPhone and drive a brand new car.. But you still haven't seen inside their private life first hand. Even if you're their friend, you probably don't know the entire story. You have no idea why they have those things, if they even belong to them, or who bought them. It could be a gift. You also have no idea what has brought them to that point. It could be a newly single mother whose husband just ran out of her, leaving her with nothing but a few material possessions. Hell, it could be someone that's approved to use a card to shop for someone else. We have no clue.
      And no, if there were more people that abused the system than those that don't, there wouldn't be a system. All your response did is show that you don't really know the ins and outs of government assistance.
      That being said; yes, there are way too many that do abuse it, I don't disagree with that at all. It's just not as many as people assume, nor does it even affect the individual American's paycheck as much as they think it does. Regardless, those that abuse the system deserve the felony fraud charges they're likely to receive. They're making things so much more difficult for those that need it, if not, essentially, stealing from them, as well as taxpayers. People forget though, or assume differently, that the person with that food stamp or medicaid card is more often than not, a taxpayer, too.

    • @Froggy77100
      @Froggy77100 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hater of Humans
      Your comments are sort of contradictory. Yes, you agree that someone who told their story is in need of food stamps. But in the same comment, you're making assumptions, and judging people, when all you did is check out their groceries. That does not make you privy to the details of why they need assistance. From what you're saying, it seems you're making judgments based off of your opinions, not facts. Unless every person you ever checked out gives you an explanation of why they are receiving food stamps, you don't know. I'm also permanently disabled. My disease leaves me home and bed-bound, so my daughter is who usually buys my groceries for me. She deals with a lot of people giving her dirty looks, and making unnecessary rude and judgemental comments, when they don't know the situation. Times I'm able to go with her, even being in my wheelchair, I've gotten the rude, judgemental treatment. You see, even getting disability payments and food stamps, I'm still well below the poverty level. Though I appreciate the assistance I do qualify for , it's barely enough to survive, it's not a luxurious position to be in. I had always done very well in life, purchasing a home at 21 for myself and my child. Working long hours to make ends meet, and also be able to provide my child with the best I could. One day that was taken away because of my failing health, something beyond my control. I do believe the majority of people who end up having to apply for food stamps, aren't happy about it. Having to depend on assistance such as food stamps isn't anything the majority of people would choose. I'd do anything to be able to go back to work, be able to live a normal life. And I definitely could do without judgment, rude and hurtful comments, from people that don't know my situation. I'm able to speak up for myself, and if I hear someone judging me, or my daughter who is helping me, I will kindly ask them if they would like me to tell them my medical condition. I don't do that to be an ass, I do it too hopefully open their eyes, and educate them. Hoping they won't put other people through that hurt, because it is very hurtful. Anyone who qualifies for benefits has to go through an application process. You don't just walk in and automatically get approved. Yes, you're entitled to have your opinions. However, if you're voicing your opinion in a public platform, you can't expect for "no one to tell you otherwise" , because they also have a right to voice their opinions as well. I find it hard to see how you can say with certainty, something like "people are popping out kids just to get more benefits". Do you know them personally to make that assumption. Go to the Human Services website in your state. You'll see even having another child doesn't give a substantial raise in any benefits. Food stamps don't provide this luxurious life style. If you have actual evidence that someone is abusing the system, there is also information on how you can report that. So by all means if you have actual proof that someone should not be on food stamps, other than your opinion by looking at them, file a report. I do agree that there are people who take advantage of the system and they should be reported. You simply can't tell just by someone buying groceries in your lane what their situation is, and why they're getting food stamps. They may be working two jobs, but their income is still so low, they qualify for food stamps. One of the parents may have gotten laid off and are actively looking for work. But in the meantime them and their children need to eat. I can't imagine a decent human being having an issue with ensuring children have food to eat. I was in the workforce since 1994 before becoming disabled. I never thought I'd be in a position to even need to apply for food stamps. But it happens, in an instant, someone's life can change, and they need help. Just to let you know, it's not an easy process to go through to receive benefits. You can't simply have a child, or even get sick and automatically qualify. In the majority of states, if you are able-bodied to work, you must participate in a work search, and provide proof of that. if you are disabled , you still have to go through the process and prove that . Once you are approved, you still have to recertify anywhere from every 3 months, 6 months, or annually. Even for those who have multiple children, once those children are of a certain age, they must work. Some States temporarily provide child care assistance so they can work even if the children are young. Best case scenario they get a job fast, and the income is enough to feed the family. Worst case scenario, they have a hard time finding employment, or even still qualify because the job, or jobs don't pay enough. In the state I live in if after certain amount of time they can't find a job, they have to do volunteer work. There are too many variables to even name. I also am not trying to be rude to you, or argumentative. I believe it's good to voice our opinions, even if they're different.That's how we get the opportunity to see things from other people's point of view. We can all learn from each other, even if it doesn't change anyone's mind, we can communicate respectfully, and if necessary agree to disagree. I think we all want the same thing, for people who truly qualify for benefits to be the ones receiving them.

      I'd say that the abusers are a small percentage of those who receive assistance; I'd rather let a few game the system (then force them to repay what they received plus interest when they get caught) than to deny help to those who need it).
