TIL there are nuances between deck building to make top cut vs aiming win the whole event.
1-2 copies of a hard counter will make the opponent play differently once your deck list is revealed.

Discard in general, in ANY card game, is just bad design. The way to beat it is to play to the board ans empty your hand. So you just get put into a top deck war instead of an actual card game that utilizes strategy.

Because it is the least fun mechanic ever and takes no skill to pilot. Every game is a top deck contest starting on turn 3 or 4 which takes no strategy and is not even remotely fun.

@@SajackImadora Ok loan me $900 and I am confident I could get top 4 at a set championships haha. It's a mindless $900 deck for weak players. But that's all fine, the problem is is it unfun to play or play against. top deck battles are not fun.
