      Agreed, I've had several Savox 1258TG servos in all types of cars, and no issues, never had one fail yet. Everything from Traxxas Slash, Losi Baja Rey, TLR 22 3.0 and Tekno EB410.

    As always a great source of info, and I agree with the statement on Savox servo for a great dollar to value ratio. I have been using the same on in my Short course for 7 full season now, and love the Tessman version for my buggy that is now 4 years old. I really have no reason to use any other brand I am totally satisfied with their performance and you can not beat their price.

    Some Guys complain that "Savox are too noisy".... well, SCHOOL eluded many of them - they would write "TO" instead of "TOO"!! 😜
    I digress....
    Anyway, I'm one who follows your Channel, even though I'm not Wheeling the same Rigs. I'm in 1/10 Scale Crawlers and Scalers, and 1/5 Scale Gas. My Servos NEED to have at least 2X the Torque of the ones that will work for you just fine..... As much as 650-750 in/oz in a 1/5 Scale Steering Servo!!! 😱😵
    Still, I use mostly the same Brands. Savox Noise?? SO WHAT! They WORK. They're reliable. The only downfall, for those of us who run longer than 4-6 minutes at a time, Savox Servos are quite power hungry! Though some of us, because extra weight is hardly a handicap - run a separate Battery just for the Servo!
    Even our 1/10 Scale Rigs use between 320-460 oz/in of Torque!
    With all that gibberish, I'll say the Savox and Pro Tek Servos do live up to their claims, and ARE nice, high performance Servos. They're both also backed by Amazing Customer Service. That's Important too!
    I've liked your Channel for awhile! You tell it straight and clear, and I never feel like you're ever pushing a Brand on me. I'm what you'd call an Old Fart in this Hobby!! I was THERE when the first Gold Pan RC-10 came out, while we were still running FROGS and Kyosho Javelins at our Track!! WHAT a Revolution! I did some 1/8 Scale Nitro Buggies, with the original OFNA 9X, which was quite good! Not the fastest, but definitely the STRONGEST. 💪 You can't Win if you can't even FINISH, right?
    Anyway, I've been around.
    This is the first time I've been able to respond to one of your Videos. Sorry it's so long!! 😱
    I've loved this Hobby since 1985. It's good to see that there's a couple of Guys like you out there, giving good advice to the next Generation!

    Hey Jason, I just got into the hobby this season and I bought one of the Tekin servos. I friend sold me a spektrum s6280 first and the Tekin is so much smoother. You should try one out and report back to us with your experience because I just had to go out on a limb with the Tekin. Everyone could benefit from some good information, perhaps even show us the hotwire setup as even Tekin doesnt have any content on that. I realize there expensive but if you are able to get yourr hands on one. Thanks for the great content it helps out new guys like me tremendously.

    Savox has been my go to brand lately good value for the price when I was still running Nitro (way back in the day) KO was my go to brand with Futaba & JR usually being used on my 1/10 scale electric stuff I liked Airtronics and Hitec and I did use them on occasion but hated dealing with the compatibility issues (still a thing with Hitec & servo splines just not common by me) but that’s back when everybody’s servo’s had their own plugs and you had to repin everything to work with whatever RX you had.

    Hitec HS-7955TG Ultra Torque Titanium, for Tekno/Losi Shortcourse 4x4. Great torque, fast, and unbreakable. Savox for the rest of the 10th scale. Savox SC-1258TG-CE Ryan Cavalieri, nice as it is black and a short connector wire.

  • @gpaje
    @gpaje 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love Savox and Protek. I run the Savox 1258TG in almost all my 10th scale stuff, including my bashers and clay cars. Best $60 servo out there. However, my ET410 4WD truggy is a different animal, it needs a big boy servo, and that's where my Protek 155T comes in. It's built like a jewel and cost like one at $149, but absolutely needed on that truggy.

    Xpert for me, they are awesome and centering one is smooth as hell. I think they quit making them, but use to run the XPds1015, those were good too. But unless Xpert goes under, i'll always run those

    Good video. I have mostly savox and protek servos, which I switched to from hitech all 3 brands are great. But I've come across powerHd servos and for a lesser known brand I've been completely satisfied over the last year or so. If you get a chance check out the PowerHd servos.

    great video bro, I've been looking at the Protek servo's but haven't got one yet. I'm into trail trucks and crawlers so I prefer and need tons of torque so I run Holmes Hobbies servo's, the very best in my opinion, super quiet, fast and right around 500oz of torque. I've had 3 different savox servo's and all 3 crapped out within the first month, even a monster torque one at $80, that sealed the deal for me on savox. If I'm in a pinch and can't afford the $120 for a HH servo I go with a PowerHD 23kg waterproof servo at $40 and still have over 300oz of torque.

    I know this is a old video but I'm running a sc6.1 as a sc modified oval car and I have been looking at the 1258 and the protek 130ss. Would they be enough torque for the sc trucks and I know u run sanwa radios. Have you tried running the protek amd savox in ssr mode?

    I've never had Savox because the talk I always come up against of them being power hungry. Which is annoying because it looks like heaps of folks use them and the price is right.

  • @Tuffenough4u
    @Tuffenough4u 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Futaba 9372SV FTW! Never had a servo that outperformed Futaba's in the end. Some might have better specs on paper, but you won't find a any servo of the same class any tougher, consistent, precise and quiet. Many other servo makers use cheaper metal in their gears and or less precise meshing creating premature back lash gaping, killing their precision. The Futaba's run for years as new. Worth every penny.

    Jason, we love your videos, but get paid man! You are leaving money on the table by not including Amazon links to these servo's in the description so if we buy them based on your recommendations we can give back to you. Maybe you get setup an affiliate program with AMain as well.
