Notes from possible confusion in the video:
@9:15 - The pliers have a small piece of tape to prevent etching on the shock shaft. Be careful not to scratch your shock shaft when gripping them!
@20:30 - The battery leads are soldered to the side of the plugs to reduce resistance and provide a little extra grip when unplugging your battery.

love the video! I suggest that you resolder wire to the battery terminal into the top of it (in the "indented C" area) fill with solder for a much stronger bond, Cheers!!

Haha, Leave it to Ryan to post a video about breaking down and cleaning a car right after I do it! Such informative and well edited videos. I love them.

    Thanks again!!

Ryan Harris Oh it will! I do have to thank you a lot for all your tips and tricks. I've got some new CF parts and an LCG chassis on order to make it handle a tad better.
When money is a bit more abundant in my wallet and I have my mode of transportation reliably fixed, then I may venture into Buggy or Touring car racing, but until then, my Slash will do. Go tear up those tracks! And maybe not tear up the car, lol.

JRR R/C i tink that you are wasting your money by trying to race your slash.

    • @ShyLesPaul
      @ShyLesPaul 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Dark godz If I were to do that, I would have to travel over 2 hours to the closest track that runs such cars. My local track runs 2wd sct, 4wd sct, open sct, USGT, Slash spec, and Vaterra Spec.
I personally like the heft of the Slash, helps me really feel the car. I dont really mind not being competitive, I'm not doing this to become the #1 racer and gets 10 sponsors, I'm just doing this for fun.

Tip for you my friend when you are tinning the solder leave the rubber on first, tin it, and then take off the rubber. I usually cut it and don’t strip till after I solder, seems to give better looking and more consistent solders.

On the diff rebuild portion, it seems that you barely use any of the clear silicone grease. I’ve always packed each ball in a dab of grease in the diff gear. I used to build some of the smoothest diffs back in the day. Now on my modern cars I can’t seem to get them all that smooth even when using new parts and breaking it in. Thanks for the great video Ryan. Can you do an outdoor tire prep video discussing tricks and tips about closed cell vs open cell inserts?

I just throw mine in the wifes dish washer! Use pot and pan setting and you would be suprised at how clean everything gets. The rinse solution like jet dry really makes the plastics pop. Then use the heat cycle to dry everything. When everything thing is said and done, your RC car or truck will look great. Then just carry it out to the dumpster because if you followed my advice, you just destroyed your RC Vehicle. lol. Great video! I higly recommend this video guys. Leave the dish washer for dishes. Your mom or wife will appreciate it and so will your wallet.

TIP: 600 then 800 grit sandpaper and a glass surface can recondition diffrings that already had a ring in them. Use the outdrive without the nipple to move the rings in a figure 8 pattern until the groove is gone. This should really be done to new factory diff rings(not the aftermarket ones that are sold as "race ready" but the stock ones are often not as flat as they would be after this process. Also, a Dremel tool with a 1/8" collet has a lower chance of damaging the shock shafts or hung pins. Great video though. Subscribed

Hey Ryan, I just won an original TLR 22 off an eBay auction and I plan on completely rebuilding it using your method in the video. And I was wondering if the 22 1.0 is still competitive today. Can I race it today in 2018?

Is there a particular servo tape you use? I’ve struggled to get one that seems to hold esc in place.

If you exchange a cable in the motor it would just turn in the oposite direction

I believe that Polishing the Suspension and Shock Shafts, probably did MORE for overall Performance than anything else!! 👍👍
However, I HAVE to say that Wiring Job.... Is Proper and BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks
