The PES gameplay is far superior than FIFA. I bought FIFA 18 and PES 18, and I can say that FIFA is a cartoon with football players faces and symbols, people confuse that aspect with realism. It's kinda embarrassing that 12 years older pes 6 beats this gameplay in every aspect. Sure it doesn't have these fancy animations like current pes has but if you don't trust me download it, play it, feel it, love it. It's just the same like real football if you disregard old graphics and old animations. Konami should really base their gameplay on pes 6 and build from that, cause it's so good that I enjoy playing it to this day.

I've been a fifa slave ever since fifa 08, so saying I want to switch to pes is extremely difficult. From this gameplay the physics and dynamics look amazing compared to fifa 18. I didn't even buy 18 this year because of how "repetitive" it looks to 17. I had now made the decision to buy the new fifa every 2-3 years. Pes 17 didn't catch my eye but this sure did. I am now thinking about buying BOTH games switching every year. So pes one year and fifa the next

In conclusion I found that FIFA traded reality for gameplay and pes traded gameplay for reality can some one just make a game with FIFA gameplay and pes reality it will be a number one seller ☝️

But PES beats Fifa in Gameplay that is the honest truth...I mean he admitted at the beginning that Fifa wins in other departments but not when it comes to gameplay. I mean look at how EA is struggling with NBA vs 2K...Licences are not an issue for both camps in NBA and EA is struggling.

Onnethox with all respect to the awesome review i think its not that fair, Fifa has some awesome things in its gameplay the players movement especially while running feels a lot more natural, yes Pes has some good ball physics but the player physics lack a bit whilst contact and movement on Fifa feels almost perfect (except for some bugs) the players react to the ball and to other players like they would in real life, the goalkeepers are awful but they will be patched still in october, the pace of the game feels awesome too, for an usual 4 to 6 mins halfs you can expect realistic results and statistics whilst playing against AI, my main concern with PES has always been how unnatural the player movement feel and look has almost a arcady feel, with much respect for the review and for the game i dont feel like its fair to call out a winner, each person could attach themselves to each style of play and adapt and overcome the bad aspects that both have, i prefer Fifa but i would never argue against someone prefering PES

There is almost no reason to not give the PES 2018 demo a shot. Hell, both demos should be tried so you can make an informed opinion on which one you should buy (or not buy if nothing major has changed). It doesn't matter whether you play FIFA or PES, it's which game you find more fun and enjoyable that matters in the end.

licenses aren't even a big problem you can get accurate kits and names pretty easily using option files, fifa is ahead in many other stuff graphics, presentation n game modes, pes got better player models imo and it got the advantage in gameplay which is the only thing that matters to me personally

Still the best PES of this gen. Better CPU AI, better animations.
CPU dribbles, dives, shots from everywhere and commit fouls without needing a mod. Plus, CPU reacts to body feints and no touch feints more naturally.
Player models are bigger, it looks adults playing football.

It's so frustrating. Both games feel incomplete. FIFA has all the best game modes, better online features, most of the major licenses and more leagues and players. Unfortunately despite the presentation being eerily close to reality, the game play does not reflect it at all. The players are all skinny robots who move unnaturally. The ball doesn't move realistically, the animations are too fast and again seem alien. Even though FIFA is praised for it's licenses it paradoxically and glaringly lacks the Champions League, the biggest competition in sports. Meanwhile PES has players who actually move and look like humans, they are are slow, sometimes clumsy but still responsive, they seem real. The tactics are also more emphasised in PES too, the player rating actually means something and is dynamic. In PES Messi is 96 rated at CAM but a measly 40 or so at centre back. His preferred positions are even taken into account: he's a higher rating at RW than LW. In FIFA, Messi is 93 rated in all positions. FIFA may have systems such as preferred positions behind the scenes, however it doesn't communicate it to the player. In FIFA the player rating doesn't even mean anything! Ronaldo appears as a 94 LW when in reality his true rating is a 91 at LW. For fucks sake can they not team up and make a football game actually worth playing.

The video review it's great but, it left out a lot of issues regarding playing PES online.
For instance:
-The review does not make any comment on how your defenders tend to open and leave huge gaps or how they run away from the ball.
-How player switching system is not working the way it should (hope Konami fixes this next thursday)
-How long does it take for Xbox one users to find a match online
-How the collision system it's a joke. Players get numbed by just a light touch.
-How stamina does not mean a thing. Players with no stamina at all they can still get you in a run.
-How Team Spirit it's a scam. You face against teams with lower TE and they can still play like if they were 99 TE.
-How player's form it's arbitrary implemented in the game with the system it has now.
-The worst of it all: How Scripting it's getting more present every year.
The list can still go...
I mostly agree with your points but the part with a player in FIFA being rated same in every position isn't true at all. Just because the different ratings don't seem to be displayed in each and every position it doesn't mean that for example Messi can perform well as a CB. It just isn't displayed unlike in older FIFA games where you could see his rating getting down or upgraded. To be fair that's a negative aspect in modern FIFA games. Though on sofifa.com you can actually check every players true rating on each position.
Totally! I love PES since I left FIFA behind in 2015 but I miss some of the game modes from EA and it's presentation. Then I play a match on FIFA and I realize I don't like playing FIFA anymore, I only like the fact they ask you to complete some goals on the carreer mode, and PES doesn't. I think Konami should steal the people responsable for those nice details on FIFA from EA and PES would have it all!
Trace that's what I said though. I got Ronaldo's true rating on Sofifa. My problem is that FIFA doesn't communicate it to the player. You shouldn't have to use other websites to get info that should be on the game.

Wise option ....Let me advice you some things ...First check the forms of the players before every match ! The ARROWS ! They have 5 different forms before every match,they react different ...if a playerhave an arrow down,it means he is out of form and he will move slower ...but if you choose to play with him and do something,you can reabilitate him for the next match ..Messi or Ronaldo have big ratings,but they are humans,so they can be out of form,right ? These conditions ,,forms (arrows ) have nothing to do with their ratings ! Their ratings change depending where you position the players on the pitch ! It's simulation,not fifa lol ....The best camera is dynamic wide,but choose dynamic wide custom,including online ,zoom 10 height 0 ,the players looks bigger,but the visibility is the same ...Always keep in your mind Pes have DEPTH ! Watch out,i warn you it is hard ,but this is what real players want,right ? And one more,for the first time ever in a football game,the AI is amazing only if you play well,this is also real ...Good luck mate,welcome to the REAL football simulation

I've been saying this for years, fifa is robotic as hell, crossing is mind numbing. You literally feel as if your kicking a brick into the air, no spin, no aerodynamics, just ooof, and the ball is forcefully flown up, then lands scriptedly into the keepers hands 8/10 times. I often dread crossing in fifa because your essentially kicking away your goal scoring opportunity. Year after year it's the same, never fixed. When it comes to fifa my rule is to only purchase a new game every 4-5 years to see any actual developments

you cant say FIFA is unrealistic especially with input from players like Ronaldo this year, this is not something PES has ever had. I had PES 16 and it is one of the worst games I've ever played, only bought it for Euro 16 and despite winning with Wales i hated it. FIFA is way better than PEZ in all respects , I have to say though FIFA's comentary team, Martin Tyler and Alan Martin Tyler Kisses My Arsenal Smith need to be a lot less repetitive and why UEFA have given the rights of Champions League to PES and not FIFA is beyond me, that's one off the main things that would help kill off PES and bring people back to FIFA.

Same here. I really enjoyed FIFA 15. I bought FIFA 16 and it was just horrible, one week later I did my research on PES 16. Gave it a try and dont regret it at all. There is still a much to work on but as far as gameplay goes, it's the best. Clearly.

I feel like fifa has not changed in the last 4 years. Every year they change one thing. Last year was goalkeeping reacting different, next year defenders will slide different, the year after they will add better grass graphics and 4 celebrations... wtf fifa?!!! The only reason I kept buying it was to compete on ultimate team online tournaments but after realizing PES also has their version of ultimate team plus better graphics, realistic playing style... bye bye fifa. I've played fifa 18 demos, it gets boring too quick, but the more I play pes 2018 the more I love it..everytime I play pes 2018 in superstar it's completely a different games..you can't do same thing twice, most goal I scored happens only by luck.

Try a legend difficulty but first you have to unlock it by winning I think 5 matches in super star
Also, you should point out the dribbling speeds. I can trick opponents by changing up dribble speeds and PES is king for that.

Wow - I downloaded the demo, but as usual got FIFA which is utterly shit this year. Konami need to pay you for this video, you've sold me on getting Pro Evo. I refuse to call it PES as it was always Pro Evo back on PS2, which were & still are, the best football games of all time.

Pes wins in gameplay where it actually matters. Commentary has always been horrible in PES though. Same repeated stuff. If they improve that and give them the licenses, it'd be a beast of a game.

We all know PES will never sell more than FIFA for reasons such as licenses etc but real PES fans play this game for its game play cause its way more realistic than what fifa offers. This video is a great review that explains all those facts.

Leo Tuncer I used to love PES, but I haven't enjoyed the more recent titles. Sure the gameplay used to be great, but I feel the player animations are terrible, and they just lack that amazing gameplay of the PS2 era.

Leo Tuncer No moviment capture, no colision system, no contact system, no physichs on tackles and interactions between players because EVERYTHING works by animations not by physichs. Straight shoots with no variation since they are just a progression to ball didn't having ANY relation with the player, position or the contact with the ball (Because doesn't have physichs, just animation). Game modes getting shited every year, shit servers, shit online. This game is a fun arcade game, but realism is more that goals situations that can happen in real life, simple because in PES you can do it every time, NOT like in reap life
I really hate how lob passes don’t feel or look authentic in FIFA. PES has a very realistic ball trajectory when crosses and doing lobbed through balls. The only thing I don’t like about the gameplay in PES is that players look a bit odd because it looks like their bodies are too straight. What I mean by that is that it doesn’t seem like they can twist at the torso and it makes their upper body look a little robotic. PES should work on a few more details to make their gameplay perfect. Right now I choose FIFA over PES because I grew up with FIFA so I know the controls better and also because FIFA has licenses. I know you can download files off a PC but for some reason my console just doesn’t wanna work with me

I've been playing Fifa since 2005 when I was 9 but as I got older, I started to turn more to Pes's more realistic gameplay. Fifa is still fun but arcady and more pacy whereas Pes is an actual representation of a real life game of football.
in real life football pace is one of the biggest advantages a player has. you think raheem sterling got where he is now on his natural talent? and fifa more arcadey? yeh like fifa 10-13 were arcadey but back then both games were because it was hard to get genuinely real gameplay. but these days fifa is far more realistic, pes is the arcadey game
You actually got it wrong, PeS is the one "arcady" and "pacy". I've been playing FIFA 15 and Pes 15 to 18. And i can easily tell you, you can pick Bayern and run with Robben, that's It. Champions League winner.
I always said FIFA is more like an Action-Sports Game while PES is an actual Football Simulation close to reality.

Perfect Review! PES 2018 gameplay is really beyond superior than FIFA, it is for the real football players, it is realistic in the way you carry the ball and dribble, cut the defender requires ability of timing and intelligence and the mechanic is rewarding and understandable because it is almost natural, the timing is fantastic, in FIFA the timings is not understandable it is like an arcade game, slippery and it is not grounded, in PES it is what we, the people who plays the game in real life expect more from a football simulator, the shooting is way superior too, I've been playing fifa until 17 but in 18 is PES for sure it is the game for the real football players but in 19 it would be welcome if they implement a RPG like the journey or a new star soccer style mode like live the life and bring a New graphic design for menus, interface and a more animated presentation, not a texted one, too much text in this game like when you're chosen to be in the bench or you're chosen to start the game.

The player movement and ball physics is what made me buy PES for the last 7 years. When I occasionally played FIFA at a friend's it felt like playing something other than football
