One small detail that I love about PES are the goal celebrations. in FIFA the teammates don't even react normally, they start cheering in the opposite direction or what not. In PES it seems more organic. Plus the kit is reacting to the environment as if they players were in space.
No it's not the exact same fucking commentary. The same people do it, yes, but there are definitely commentary additions over the year. If you haven't noticed them, either you don't play enough, or you don't notice the commentary dialogues enough.
However it is way better than PES. Pes is good but always has some kind of bugs in it. Have u noticed that the referee doesn't blow the whistle for foul until another player touches the ball. Also, u have problem changing cursor on players from time to time ( u want to change the cursor but it just gets stuck on one player). And sometimes the player close to ball is not selected automatically and u can't change the cursor either. FUCKING ANNOYING!!!

Older football games could literally be played with a dpad- they didn’t have fluid dribbling or ball control let alone other advancements in AI, physics and animations and movements that are dynamically generated using constraints of anatomical motion- they were fun, sure, but your point about there being little advancement on whichever front is just horribly naive

They get to hear the anticipation from the crowd, the real support to the boys playing and the real atmosphere created by EA SPORTS FIFA and PES KONAMI. It depends on what kind of player you are. If you just enjoy the occasional game with friends then maybe licences matter to you. But, me for example, I like playing Master league, turning a trash team into a superteam, licences don't matter cause I take young players from the youth squad that probably don't exist in real life. In any case, if licences bother you that much you can always download the patches (PTE patches). They fix most of that stuff.

Fifa is an arcade game ( I've played Fifa for 14 years, I'm 18 now) and I can say that PES is headed for a much more realistic approach, FiFA hasnt changed since 2015, whereas PES is becoming the ultimate football simulator, the incredible animations, reactions, emotions, the crowd being a crowd and not robots with 2 emotions (cheering and sitting down), FIFA has become a predictable game, which is very wrong, real football is SUPER UNPREDICTABLE, and after 7 months of playing FIFA im sick and tired of playing the same game for 3 years, FIFA doesnt change, it's reached stagnation, EA is afraid of changing the core fo gameplay becasue they fear of losing players, and thus they will not go for a realistic approach, also because they want FIFA to become an E-Sport, and an e-sport needs to be predictable for the player in order to allow competitive play of highest order, there can be no luck or outside factors, PES on the other hand opts for realism, better ball physics, more animations for the players (but they haven't got the dribbling right still, but it's on a better track than fifa, which is very floaty and the players feel like they have no weight behind them), next year i'm saying goodbye to greedy EA, and saying hello to pes 2019, in a few years we'll be comparing fifa 25 and pes 25, fifa will remain arcadey with more or less the same gameplay but with more animations and stuff, but PES will become the most PHYSICALLY realistic football game ever produced, with some of the best animations in any sports game I've seen, the keepers are astonishing, and the feel of the players is so satisfying.
I downloaded a mod pack that included every club and every league, it works for online too, I play on PC, but XBOX users cannot use this pack tho, so I don't know about u. Also, it's not PES fault they cannot get the licensing, they ask for it every year.
Doggo Fitness the only PES games I've personally found to be better than fifa were PES 5 and 6. Since then I felt they went downhill with player animations for shooting, passing etc. Fair enough if you prefer the game over fifa though and I respect that. I also agree that fifa barely changes every year but in my opinion the gameplay and graphics are far better than PES. Even little things like the menus on fifa being a lot more user friendly, for example my first time on PES 18 I had to Google how to play a friend as it's the most inconvenient way of inviting someone to a game I've ever experienced. Also wanted to try pro clubs but wasn't even sure if it was on there so gave up looking after 5mins and uninstalled.
You make a good point, but I think that the problem we have nowadays with FIFA vs PES is that, no matter how bad FIFA 19 is compared to PES 2019, no matter how many improvements PES makes, be it licensing, graphics, even more realistic gameplay, more user friendly navigation menus. Fifa will be without a doubt the colossal football game, most potential revenue goes to EA, they have built a fanbase so one sided that they will NEVER leave, and that fucks up the healthy competition PES and FIFA had, before they were struggling to be better than the other each year, but now, no matter how good PES becomes, FIFA is the one people buy, they have the flashy game, but as deep in content and mechanics as a puddle, but it doesn't matter, they got the money, and games like PES end up eating dirt and not being financially supported And believe me, PES 2018 had a HUGE leap forward, whereas FIFA 17 and 18 feel the same, i have FIFA 18 (bought it for FUT, which is the main reason people buy the game for) but the game is boring after 3 months of playing, hence why I switched to PES
I used to prefer Fifa when i was younger but the older I got (im 18 now) the more I preferred PES and now thats the only one I play. PES is more realistic in its gameplay and has more of a tactical edge... while with FIFA it just seems like the gameplay is designed to allow you to hit the ball in the top corner almost every shot. That was fun when I was a kid but I prefer to play in more of a realistic manner these days (keeping possession, defending etc) and PES is much better with that in my opinion.

I’ve played both most of my gaming years, I always favored Konami’s since ISSS64, but Fifa has been improving year after year; the one thing PES has always had is amazing ball physics, it’s just a joy to kick that ball, but FIFA is a great and fun game to play, and it is like three games in one, FUT feels totally different from career mode, and of course the journey, FIFA has way more replay value, and also I’m sick of konami’s lack of real leagues licensing.
I am FIFA fan.. but man this time pes has nailed it.. it always had better player models but this time even gameplay is good.. I wish pes had license that's the only thing where FIFA gets an edge.. even the managers and environment is better in FIFA...
I love and play both games. FIFA is an arcade experience for casual fans. PES is a much more true to life experience for those who want authentic gameplay. After years of playing both, this is the best way I can describe the differences between the two. If I had to pick one (between FIFA 18 AND PES 18) this year I'd go with PES without a doubt. They got everything right with the gameplay.
