Good informational review. I seriously shopped BMW X3 M40i, Audi SQ5 and MB GLC 43, on paper the GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige won, having to add every option available for the Germans to be comparably spec'd and prices climbed. The X3 is the performance first choice but the GV70 is a great all-rounder and I much preferred the interior. A test drive sold me and I bought a GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige back in November 2021, zero problems, I would buy it again.
I crossed shopped Mercedes GLC 43 AMG, BMW x3M40i, Audi Sq5 , and the Gv70 sport prestige. I went with the BMW x3M40i. I love it , and I am glad I didn’t get the GV70. I love compact SUV’s and sports sedans and the BMW wins it for me. I love the performance on how it drives a feels. It is a true luxury vehicle. The GV70 is a Hyundai with Hyundai parts , I BMW which is a true luxury brand.
I would say that.. german cars drives pretty same all of them.. unless you have porsche. also they are expensive compare to Hyundai and Kia.. I own german cars right now but Luxury in Genesis is far more than german premium family car. For your BMW paid nearly double the price of Genesis :)
@@representwest the genesis isn’t that luxury for me, but is definitely a premium car, and highly competitive to the Germans, BUT you get what you pay for at the end of the day it comes down to preferences. I love a German car. I love the fits and finishes of the Mercedes , BMW, and Audi , however I would disagree about the driving the same.. I've driven an Audi S4/S5 and the steering is nimble, the BMW handles better, steering is heavy feeling which I love, Mercedes definitely more comfortable than my BMW even the AMG, but I love the stiffness of my car.
I compare the GV70 with the Porsche Cayenne/S - same size, better power, lower price and WAY more standard equipment. Fit and finish are about equal (I have one of each in my driveway, but my Porsche is the Turbo Cayenne).. handling is very similar, driveline feel is similar if not identical. I tried using Porsche's "configurator" to build a Cayenne /S that was equipped the same as the Prestige GV70 package - cost was almost exactly 2x. We were considering both - the GV70 ended up in the driveway.

too bad Genesis is ditching the beautiful curved dash board and replacing it with a long rectangular screen (BMW style) for 2025.
I have a 2023 gv70, 2023 palisade and the 2024 X3 and it’s not even close. The Gv70 is 100x better than the X3. I like the palisade more as well.
Dumb question.

@@Don_Eilenberger ok congrats to each his own.
Does the STELVIO belong in the conversation ? …Some say it handles even better than the German cars …
