I actually asked for this in one of your previous videos. So, obviously you did this just for me :P Thank you very much. This will definatly help me. 4 Ats missing right now. The broken map 10 twice and 2 from the campaign we have right now.
Thank you for the video and the explanation on how to beat those, it is great for a person that just started and wants all medals in the old campaigns 😊
I recently got TrackMania and have been grinding the old campaigns. Had no idea how to get the Author times on these maps, this video is invaluable 🙏🏻 Thank you Wirt!
MY GOD I THOUGHT I WAS GOING CRAZY. I did indeed went back and try to fill my entire backlog with greens. It would usually take me anywhere between 5 to 30 minutes to get AT's. But I would randomly get COMPLETELY and utterly stuck... on the exact maps you showed. That clears a lot of confusion for me
I never thought of it but being able to watch a replay of an older physics engine imply that TrackMania have every version of their physics engine built-in. (replay just contains a series of steering angle and timestamp).
Omg tysm for showing they are still possible because its such a headache trying to get all ats on these maps as I only got club access now and Im aiming for all ats so again ty.
Is there a documented list of physics changes and if they impact for better or worse? Im going through old TOTD tracks and wondering if any of those are now much harder.
I actually found the wallride training map to be the hardest to get AT on (I just recently started playing). It has the most stupid "have to get it just right" feel of all of them IMO.
Mufat is back! Also I still think they should've tried doing something similar to Mario Maker, where they kept the physics for maps that have already been made like they were, and only updated them for new maps.
what do you think of the possibility that the maps retain whatever physics they were created on? That way the older maps are still beatable as intended and the newer ones eliminate complications. I don't know how viable this option is from a developer's perspective but I do think that it would make the game much more fun to play for people who are hunting maps or just exploring maps from across the years
I think patching the times to change the ATs to make it more accessible would be better the WR stays the same unbeatable but players that want to get the older ATs because they were not able to play them on time or had to wait for a better laptop (like me) or were just not interested in official campaigns but played around with the editor this would be a nice change I mean they even axed standard access and set down the price of Club but change the times with a physics update was not part of the plan?
@@acesw6124 - That's a good idea. Just changing ATs for old maps after physics updates doesn't do anything to fix the WR leaderboard problems, but it does fix the AT difficulty problem and should be easy to do. (Unlike having different physics for different maps; much of the physics is probably hard-coded into the game. Maybe some of it is parameters that could be loaded on a per-map basis, but others might be just how the source code works. So you'd need either loadable chunks of executable code, or rewrite the source to make more stuff conditional, which would be harder to maintain and test, and would run slower.)
@@acesw6124 But world records remain unbeatable. Some maps are trophies like a-01 and midori. If maps retain the physics they were generated in, it makes the world record accessible too.
The reason why they didn't do it is obvious, because this solution is obvious. They just didn't care enough to spend a few more weeks/months to make this possible. Management didn't. Developers didn't. Designers didn't. Nobody cared. They quite literally chose the laziest solution to the problem from the architecture perspective as they simply patched "a bug" and ignored the consequences. Maybe they actually want this. When your sub ends you keep the old maps, but if they don't work anymore they might've figured out consumer may be more likely to buy the subscription again. It doesn't have to be true, if someone got a bonus/raise because of that, that is enough, and they keep doing it again and again. Man, I love the new Trackmania, but controversial decisions and general lack of care for important stuff just prevent me from throwing money at the yearly subscription anymore.
@@araarathisyomama787 that last paragraph I fully agree with and just putting Blue-Black tracks behind more than a skill wall is another reason next to not having a way to get a datapack for older maps to have old ice physics is another why I will not renew my subscription that will end this month. I have more fun in the editor than COTD anyways Clubs I will miss... a little theres still trackmania exchange
Wirtual you are under no obligation to remember all the lines of all the tracks you've ever played. I'm pretty sure most players barely remember even one map they played a season ago until they drive it again and muscle memory kicks in. There's nothing to forgive, you're just human like all of us.
I've tried tm 2020 recently, and after getting AT for the 10 free maps I've tried the training maps. The one you've show gave me so much troubles to get that damn AT. At least now i understand why it was so hard.
I recently gave TM a try and went through the training campaign, and that dirt track slayed my soul until I really got the snap by chance. It was a satisfying moment of discovery, but replicating it took hours. So yeah, getting hit in the face in the very beginning with an insanely hard author time humbled my ego quickly.
Honestly, Nadeo should keep the old physics on old maps to make things fair. Just the official maps (incase its too difficult to do for _all_ old maps). If there is a way, then they should keep the old physics on such maps. It's only fair.
this is a really good video because i just paid for the game and i was seriously struggling with summer 2020 times. now i know its the game that was patched to hell. excellent video

Are you for real?! Yesterday I've watched a "Jet Force Gemini" 100% run after randomly thinking of it because I loved it as a kid. Now I click on this and BAMM JFG menu music in my face. What the hell is this? Am i going insane?
Things like this are why I wish they'd do like Mario Maker, where old maps are tied to the physics of when it was released (in Trackmania's case I assume tied to the date of validation run). With enough time the community would be used to it, and there could just be a warning that the map has different physics applied. Instead we're left with maps with either much harder or even impossible ATs after the updates (even if not the official campaign maps, some TOTD maps are notorious for this).
Super Mario Maker 2 saves the physics version for every level, so that even if the physics get updated, it's only for new levels and old ones stay the same. Trackmania should do the same!
Ahhh good Old Spring 2021 - 24.. The only non-Nascar map where i had a legitimate shot at a campaign wr, ruined by physics change mid-campaign🤣 W Mudda 💯
I am new to TM and those trainings were very hard for me to get the author medals. And i didnt have the ghosts so it took me soooooo long to try and figure out what i could do to get it and i didnt know what times i needed. Glad to know that they were hard from the start
honestly a group should go through all the official maps find the ones with problems cause of physics changes and give the full list to nadeo to artificially go in and fix the author times
No joke, as a new player I thought I should start from the first campaign to learn the mechanics. And I got stuck on that exact level you opened first and quit cause I thought the game was too hard for me. 😅
I think trackmania should implement what mario maker 2 does where the map when published saves the version of the game and every time you play it the physics and version reverts back to when the map was made. so In mario maker 2 its so past glitches that make a map beatable that get patched out later on don't become unbeatable for players playing on a version that doesn't have the glitch.
I really wish they went back and redid these author times or kept old physics for old maps, I tried to go back and do all of the old author medals just to get stuck with summer 2020 - 10 basically right after I started

Now imagine a newbie stumbling upon a GREEN map that randomly has an absurd gold time compared to all the other maps, not even to mention the insane AT which is unachievable for 99,99% of the playerbase.
It's a huge scandal that they even changed physics without a proper solution in place for the problems it would inevitably cause. THEY DON'T CARE! So we need to make them care.
Ah yes, I too remember the days before Nadeo removed fun
refusing to play riolu's record is peak
21:29 HE BECAME HANDSOME SQUIDWARD!!!
It’s right between 21:29 and 21:30 technically, but 21:29 is closer.
I actually asked for this in one of your previous videos. So, obviously you did this just for me :P
Thank you very much.
The jet force gemini soundtrack at the start threw me into a nostalgia wormhole
MY GOD I THOUGHT I WAS GOING CRAZY.
I did indeed went back and try to fill my entire backlog with greens.
It would usually take me anywhere between 5 to 30 minutes to get AT's. But I would randomly get COMPLETELY and utterly stuck... on the exact maps you showed.
That clears a lot of confusion for me
Dude he did all three so quickly! I grinded all these tracks and got the author medals some time ago and each one took me 6+ hours
Was absolutely not expecting Jet Force Gemini music, wowzers, that's a trip.
23:34 And I thought practicing the training campain is the thing to do 😲😳
Please make a video about it! 🙏🏼😃
12:12 *soul sanctum intensifies*
yes! omg the nightmares came back
NO PLS LEAVE ME ALONE IM JUST PASSING THROUGH WHY AM I DEAD
Is there a documented list of physics changes and if they impact for better or worse? Im going through old TOTD tracks and wondering if any of those are now much harder.
I would like to see comparisons on world records vs TAS with this physics.
7:00 Wow I did not expect to hear Conker music in a Wirtual video
I actually found the wallride training map to be the hardest to get AT on (I just recently started playing). It has the most stupid "have to get it just right" feel of all of them IMO.
Mufat is back!
Also I still think they should've tried doing something similar to Mario Maker, where they kept the physics for maps that have already been made like they were, and only updated them for new maps.
the game should keep the old physics versions around and switch to the correct physics based on the creation date of the map.
what do you think of the possibility that the maps retain whatever physics they were created on?
There's nothing to forgive, you're just human like all of us.
what? he is not a gigabrain mastermind that remembers every bit of track he ever played by heart??? I'm disappointed 😢
12:11 The time skip here is crazy good!
Honestly, Nadeo should keep the old physics on old maps to make things fair. Just the official maps (incase its too difficult to do for _all_ old maps). If there is a way, then they should keep the old physics on such maps. It's only fair.
Wirtual is Div 1 in avoiding taxes
this is a really good video because i just paid for the game and i was seriously struggling with summer 2020 times. now i know its the game that was patched to hell. excellent video
Hello Wirtual, I was wondering how you got your ingame camera like that, i dont like how my cam was focused on the car but yours when you ice slide is focused on the track itself. Thank you, love the vids
EDIT: I found the setting😑
i swear the music is always perfectly timed on what ever streaming service he uses
Can someone give me the title of the music at 20:54 pls?
that viva pinata music hit me like a brick fucking wall at 4:15
I’m sorry, is that Viva Piñata playing during 6:00? That brings back some really great memories
Same! I had to stop and turn the volume up to hear it :D
The idea that Trackmania physics change (I don't care if they consider it a bugfix) just baffles me.
21:30 1 min 13.372 was wirtuals way of saying i leet too
bro just fully ignores riolu, goated.
Let's look at the WR!
1. R̶i̶o̶l̶u̶-̶T̶M̶
2. Hefest - Watch how Hefest just dominates this run.
LOL I love it.
Are you for real?! Yesterday I've watched a "Jet Force Gemini" 100% run after randomly thinking of it because I loved it as a kid. Now I click on this and BAMM JFG menu music in my face. What the hell is this? Am i going insane?
shoutout to buckley for adding the green timer
Things like this are why I wish they'd do like Mario Maker, where old maps are tied to the physics of when it was released (in Trackmania's case I assume tied to the date of validation run). With enough time the community would be used to it, and there could just be a warning that the map has different physics applied. Instead we're left with maps with either much harder or even impossible ATs after the updates (even if not the official campaign maps, some TOTD maps are notorious for this).
impossible ATs for players who are not YTers and get frustrated by the grind because they could not play before the physics changes.
18:46 Bro’s forgetting to give the advice
Super Mario Maker 2 saves the physics version for every level, so that even if the physics get updated, it's only for new levels and old ones stay the same. Trackmania should do the same!
I see you Buckley with the Jet Force Gemini | Main theme
Casually leaking Malta finally in a video is hilarious
He said he just moved to Sweden in the bonk cup stream 3 days ago
@@coldes97 u got baited hard lol

@@philhcks8257 why would he lie about that lol
@@gaemeer895 He's joked about moving there before, and Mufat is a troll account. Same thing as ligma but for "my fat nuts"
Who played jet force gemini ? That music in the beginning brought back so much memory though.
honestly a group should go through all the official maps find the ones with problems cause of physics changes and give the full list to nadeo to artificially go in and fix the author times
OMFG I have been playing this campaign recently and COULD NOT figure out how they got that jump lol. Thanks for the heads up!
HOLY SHIT IS THAT JET FORCE GEMINI THEME?!??!?!!? GOATED
Nadeo have to apply old physic on old map it's just the best thing they can do
The return of Muffat
THE GLORIOUS RETURN OF MUFAT
I can't believe I was able to beat the AT on Training 02, its way too hard
I spent so long grinding summer 2020 map 10 before I realised the physics must just be different
Sucks because it’s actually a really fun track
No joke, as a new player I thought I should start from the first campaign to learn the mechanics. And I got stuck on that exact level you opened first and quit cause I thought the game was too hard for me. 😅
But no one can break ur mayo slide, go for it!
I think trackmania should implement what mario maker 2 does where the map when published saves the version of the game and every time you play it the physics and version reverts back to when the map was made. so In mario maker 2 its so past glitches that make a map beatable that get patched out later on don't become unbeatable for players playing on a version that doesn't have the glitch.
the video has been out for 32 seconds and i have watched the entire thing 17 times in a row and can now comment that it is indeed a quality video 👍
Poor summer campaign was left out from the beginning 😢
Man I miss those old seasons after the release of the game :( Everything was so much simpler!
If I shouldn’t use the training campaign, what should I use to train?
Good question come back tomorrow
"Actually hitting the broccoli is probably the best" 🤜🥦
WE LOVE GREEN TIMER!!! ⏱️
"Taking a look at the record from Hefest here..."
- Riolu's time completely ignored 😆
I really wish they went back and redid these author times or kept old physics for old maps, I tried to go back and do all of the old author medals just to get stuck with summer 2020 - 10 basically right after I started
Make that video on the Training maps please!
OMFG Jet Force Gemini theme
Nobody talks about that game. I feel like almost nobody knows about it.
