How about half throtle? Do you have a steering wheel around? Maybe a controler could fit the bill... Remember, half throtle doesn't mean half the speed...
That's such a good project, but now to answer the first question: "Can you beat Trackmania NF steering in only one direction?", it creates the question if it is possible to beat Trackmania NF without steering left. We may will never now...
And mapping, say, steer to A/D, throttle to Up-Arrow, and brake to Spacebar or RShift is quite possibly more comfortable anyway. Don't have to squeeze your hand into the tiny area of four keys, and your two hands can reserve themselves for two wildly different tasks.
D12 is possible. I managed to find an angle that allowed me to get to the last block of the wallride, where I fell off due to low speed BUT this attempt was directly from the checkpoint, without gathering speed first - which you could do.

Great video and concept but, I must ask, if you were instead allowed to use EITHER only left or only right, would it be possible? I would love it if you keep doing these "is it possible to beat [trackmania game] while [playing with this limitation]" Example: is it possible to beat this while never stepping off the gas and never braking? I imagine yes but you get the idea.
Perhaps an idea would be disabling a key (forward, backwards, left and right) for each track. Like for A01 he could drive without braking and on A02 he could drive without going left or something.
It would be interesting to see the differences between not steering right and not steering left. maybe some tracks that are possible this way wouldnt be possible only steering right and vice versa. some of the strategies/difficulties would be different
