      I like your work so much sir it’s very helpful .
      I would like to mention that in your video penicillin you said “why we do call them b lactam because they do inhibit the b lactam which are part of the cell wall of the bacteria …”in3.25min and then in 5.25m you called them b lactam inhibitors which confused me because b lactam are not part of the cell wall neither are b lactam inhibitor because they contain a blactam in their structure!!?

    Really great explanations that are filling in my knowledge gaps. I feel my lecturers give out the information but don't do a great job of explaining how it's all linked. This is brilliant and comprehensive.

    How does the slime layer cause adhesion although it is covered by the capsule?

    • @karaokay5444
      @karaokay5444 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      ‘Slime layer’ and ‘capsule’ are two different types of glycocalyces. Capsular glycocalyx is well organized, tightly bound layers of polysaccharides that surround bacterial cells. They contribute to bacterial virulence by protecting the bacteria from phagocytosis and also help with adherence to host cells. Slime layers are loosely organized layers of extracellular polysaccharides that surround bacterial cells, these promote the formation of biofilms which protect bacteria from hosts immune response and antimicrobial agents. slime layer is not covered by a capsule.. slime layer is a glycocalyx secreted by the bacterial cell.
