Question Medicosis, in the classification of the bacteria you said that Staph and Strept differ because one is *catalase* positive and the other negative. Furthermore Staphs are further classified by the presence of coagulase. Does this imply that coagulase is an enzyme that can be present only in some types of staphs or can other bacteria have coagulase?

Hey medicosis is there a book or reference for a list of pathogens and contaminants at a specific site in the body? For example in the urine s.aureus would usually be a contaminant or frm the blood.

Why do we give antibiotic bei SSS or Impetigo when its caused by the toxine?
When you kill the bacteria, they stop making new toxin. As for the preformed toxins, antibiotics won’t stop that.
