Your videos of the Sgt. pepper remixes are my favorites. You go into incredible detail and your reviews are what made purchase the 2 CD set. One day I will get the DELUXE edition (there's still the Holidays!) I listened to the REMIX CD and the Sgt. Pepper Sessions with my eyes closed and enjoyed thoroughly hearing the drums, bass and backing vocals more pronounced. It was a wonderful experience that I'm sure many music fans all over the world will enjoy as well! Thanks TJR! - Brian
Picked mine up today and I did not realize the box was this big. It is gorgeous a really well done super deluxe set. I am very pleased at the packaging and the CDs sound phenomenal. Great in boxing TJ thank u
Nice to see the CDs put in same format as vinyl in the set, it reminded me that you once remarked, in a previous Video, that the fall of CDs sales was in due part the awful small packaging downgrading album artwork - thanks for the unboxing and info on the collection.
Well Done . The final 100th gold watch that the beatles richly deserve. To cap this massive celebration I would like to see a 2 dvd, blu-ray companion piece come out this fall. Have all the session photos, text and interviews totally studying this masterpiece. Also have the PBS special that aired last weekend on it also.
looks great, mine shipped 2 or 3 days ago, should have it any day now, can't wait to get it. I like that 3-D artwork on the cover. I hope they do all the Beatles albums in editions like this, I'd love to see some other bands do some of their albums in editions like this as well, like the album Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper, and maybe some of Elvis Presley's albums, Tom Jones, and the album Back in Black by AC/DC I mean it's the #2 selling album of all time, come on it needs a release like this!
Got mine today. I already loaded it onto my iPod and iCloud, so I'm ready to go for a drive. lol. The pages are pretty heavy, aren't they. That's the bulk of the overall weight of the entire package.
HI TJR, I`ve just watched your first 3 Sgt Pepper videos up to the unboxing edition. I`m still waiting for my S.E. Box to arrive along with the double LP. I do have the double CD, so I`ve been able to have several listens. Regarding what is going to be your review of Giles Martin`s stereo remix all I can say is that I found the remix amazing, a massive improvement on ALL the previous releases. Every track is an improvement, some to lesser and greater extents. The tracks that really stand out, for me are `Within Without You` and `A Day In The Life`. If I`d have put money on what would be the standout tracks prior to hearing it would have been those two.
I ran into a little snag... I live in Mexico with my mom waiting for our house to sell so we can go back to Texas. The problem is the packing and airport rules about baggage. When something is do many pounds they charge you. My family being my mom or my sister would probely have to pay. We already agreed we leave behind the heavy things (Cut our losses) i wished I would’ve thought about that before I bought that Sgt. Pepper’s box set. ☹️ Any ideas what
Even though it wasn't recorded with Sgt. Pepper in mind, when I found out it wouldn't include Carnival of Light my enthusiasm in obtaining this dropped significantly. I'll probably get this box set somewhere down the road.
....Learn something new everyday....believe it or not, I had never heard of Carnival of Light till just now....I went and looked it up....Thanks for the heads up.
TJR. Sure thing. It was originally going to be on Anthology 2 but George Harrison vetoed its inclusion. It's the most sought after unreleased Beatles track along with Take 3 of Helter Skelter, which is 27 minutes in duration.
Hi Tim, I look forward to your review. I'm still undecided about purchasing the super deluxe. Can you let us know what stereo gear you will use for the review. Thanks.
I just posted the review. As for gear...nothing out of the ordinary. I listened on my computer speakers, my blu ray home theater system, my earbuds, and my car stereo (standard Toyota car stereo system).
Great job TJR, loved it! If I can ask, could you take a look at songwriting credits? It's rumored some have changed from the original Lennon/McCartney to McCartney/Lennon, and that one authorship has changed to McCartney alone. Is this true? If so, I'm pissed!
Hey Tim ! I got real lucky cause I called Barnes and nobles early and they held it for me! No one here got a lot of copies and they're sold out around town ! Also got the vinyl !'
TJR I've read people saying the vinyl is superior. I'll check it out sometime this weekend for sure. I was so anxious to hear the remix of my favorite song off the album - getting better. Definitely love what he did to it. :)
I just got mine. I was able to get MOST of the CDs backed up on my iPod and pin drive. I also have the 2CD edition. What I have on my iPad is the complete 2 CD edition with the complete 4th disc (original mono mixes) on my iPod and some choice tracks from the sessions discs (2&3) that weren't on the 2CD edition. I have a 6 year old clunky laptop living on borrowed time I ripped them on and my pin drives so I'm good. I will say this I had a scary experience ripping the CDs, it seems the disc drive on the laptop is going haywire and was having problems ripping so I had to reboot the laptop. I as so scared the CDs were scratched because of the experience that I played them on my blu ray player to see if they're still OK...WHEW! The CDs were fine but I had to start all over again with the ripping. This time no problem. But I'm telling you one thing, I'm NEVER sticking another disc into that laptop again. I'm getting a Mac when this laptop dies. Hehe,
I just read your reply to my comment on another video and it’s scaring me. th-cam.com/video/J84ORBvsVbc/w-d-xo.html please I need reassurance that my 150$ CDs in the box set are not scratched because I tried rip them on a clunky computer because I wanted to back it up and that is the only computer I have.
I’m listening to the mono CD of the box set now on the blu ray player I. The living room. That jam box I mentioned was a cheap model the songs didn’t even sync together it left a 2 second gap I between, so now the blu ray is all I have, anyrate the inner grove does end ubrruptly it just goes through the loop once and ends suddenly. Maybe it doesn’t do that on the mono box set but it does on the Sgt Pepper box. So my CDs are fine... WHEW!
Nice set! Unfortunately for me it's out of my league so I ordered the 2CD edition. Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road share the 2 spot as my fav to the White Album. However sadly I could never enjoy it in the same level as most people because how I first heard of Sgt. Pepper. It's gonna sound like a rant so be prepared: the first time I ever heard of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was through The Bee Gees and that movie in 1978. When I finally did hear the original 1967 Beatles album. I just could not enjoy it on the same psychedelic level as most people could. The experience has been ruined because of this movie. That would be like taking a young person who has never seen "Jaws" and have him see "Jaws The Revenge" twice before he/she ever had the chance to see the original. The person would be robbed of of an awesome experience he would've had if he/she just saw the original FIRST! And that's how I feel from this movie and soundtrack....ROBBED!
The overall box is splendid and all that BUT for the price, they could have at least housed the CDs in digipacks with proper CD trays. Cardboard sleeves increase chances of scratched and damaged CDs. :(

Yes it has! :)

This is the one for me if I ever get in the mood to buy Pepper again for sure!!! I go all the way baby!!!

Great box set.
I hope they do this for the earlier ones as well.
I hope so too

Thanks, now I'm going to unopen my box that incredibly has been sitting there for the past week.

If that's the one I think it is,it's the one Disney showed around the time of the Anthology series.
I got mine today. It is a beauty!
Cool!

+Roberto Chiang 👍
I'd like to see the Abbey Road album get the same / or similar treatment ....any thoughts TJR
Nice job.
Thanks
Also the problem is music critics who think they know more than the ex Beatles themselves

They should have included at least one vinyl.
Also where is carnival of light?
Where is it’s only a northern song and demo of mmt
Did you get this on vinyl or CD?
+PinkDevilFish This set is only available on CD
a dream
