Just ordered this boxset from Amazon.uk after watching this video. I`d just like to say a big thankyou for your excellent TH-cam channel, website, reviews and information. It`s very much appreciated. Cheers.
A big thank you for this preview! They used the first "Sgt. Pepper's" logo (which was rejected) for the DVD (I think I remember a photograph of Lennon with a poster of this logo in his home) and the second one for the Blu-Ray, which I found very tongue-in-cheek (with the old/new technology analogy)
Thank you for the in-depth review. I received my copy via the US mail here in the States yesterday (Sunday) which is "very strange" indeed. I haven't yet set aside time to listen to anything, but I must say that visually they have done an absolutely fantastic job.
Cool review. By the way - the heads of the Pepper Beatles DO move from side to side :) Put the cover a few feet away & move your head. Very hard to see up close by just moving the box. In fact the heads seem to follow your movement! Lotsa fun!
I bought this release, too, and it's every bit as great as you say! I do have a question, though, for anyone with a good answer. What do you think the best way to store this behemoth box set will be? I'd hate for the cover overlay to get dinged up or get scratched. I've been looking for a storage box to keep it in, but had no luck yet. They're either way too big, or far too small......
the Beatles certainly , know how to release a really premium product, mine was dispatched this afternoon. the only cherry on this box-set would have been the vinyl album, and frustratingly it could fit in the box with it being a 12 incher....however saying that, it really is the dogs bollox without a doubt. thank you Paul for that comprehensive unboxing...
yeah carnival of light as an easter egg, and the only other thing would have been an actual making of the boxset with interviews with sam okell and giles martin, i wish they would release these boxes for all beatles albums! especially from Revolver (missed opportunity last year) onwards!
Thanks, friend! I pre-ordered this set immediately when I heard about it in 2017(and the vinyl set). I still haven’t opened them yet! Thanks for showing the contents. Be safe!
Well yes I agree...but I believe I read somewhere that Giles Martin said."The technology isn't quite there yet for Revolver and Rubber Soul to get the same treatment....we are close...just not there yet.." of course i'm paraphrasing.
Looks fantastic of course. But it would have been nice had they included a disc of only the backing tracks. Remove the vocals and all of those songs completely stand on their own as instrumentals. Fans have been blown away by Paul's bass on tracks like "Lovely Rita." A bit of a missed opportunity there I think. I mean they did that when they released the box set for The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds" so why not "Sgt. Pepper."
The INSTRUMENTAL versions of: Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Strawberry Fields Forever Penny Lane Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) in 5.1 Lossless would be UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Just got my copy today. This is not even my favorite Beatle album (I'd rate Abbey Road, White Album and Revolver better than this), but they've done a super job with remastering an already great album. The packaging is awesome.
Paul, wonderful job! If I can ask, could you take a look at songwriting credits? It's rumored some have changed from the original Lennon/McCartney to McCartney/Lennon, and that one authorship has changed to McCartney alone. Is this true? If so, I'm pissed!
I pre ordered this from amazon about a month ago. Dylan did justice to his 1966 tour affordably. But Dylan's 1965 complete limited box was approximately $500.00! I got the mid-range 1965 Cutting Edge boxset instead. The Rolling Stones also did a fine Sticky Fingers deluxe boxset affordably. The Beatles definitely did a good job with this deluxe edition. There could have been so much more as far as outtakes. Blue ray, DVD audio don't really care so much about. A few years ago bootlegs of the separate original 4-track masters were released. Those are incredible.
Just bought the new edition. Somewhat disappointed with it. The new mix sounds way too tweaked and the take outs disc should be avoided at all cost. Just basically the backing tracks. A couple small things aren't real bad. A day in the Life stripped down sounds like it could have come off the Imagine LP. All in all I'd stick to the prior release. It's more balanced. Seems like they tried hard to bring up the Bass much more and the treble too high. What can you do with 4 tracks that hasn't already been done? Make it worse I believe.
When and if people attack the presenter in this or any well-done video, please take the time to report them, it only removes the comments, and it just takes a few seconds, just my opinion.
Today is 7/1/2017. 50 yrs. Happy Pepper Day Everyone!!!

It's a great time to be a Beatles fan with Apple giving us some truly nice releases on an annual basis since 2013. The future looks great.

It is freakin gorgeous. A true boxset. Price is fair.

Thanks for this review. The best in youtube I've seen. :)

JGP I'm only going to remove the top portion of the cellophane for the added layer of protection!!!
Thank You for showing The Sgt. Pepper Box Set. It looks like Apple did an amazing job puting this together. I can't wait to hear it.

Yeah the Vinyl would've been the cherry on top! Oh and Carnival right?!? Oh well.
yeah carnival of light as an easter egg, and the only other thing would have been an actual making of the boxset with interviews with sam okell and giles martin, i wish they would release these boxes for all beatles albums! especially from Revolver (missed opportunity last year) onwards!
"This is very much done in the style of the Fleetwood Mack reissues..." as if we all bought the Fleetwood Mack reissues.
Thanks, friend! I pre-ordered this set immediately when I heard about it in 2017(and the vinyl set). I still haven’t opened them yet! Thanks for showing the contents. Be safe!
Authentic reverse of typography going wrong way on the spine, but they included the apostrophe this time around.
I have the original (US) album, which contained an insert of a cardboard pressing of Beatle images.

Fascinating. Cheers.
Yes! Thank you!
Best box set of 2017!
WOW, this is a Deluxe Box set.....Prince's estate need to take notes!
Nice video wow !!!.
Wish they'd done something similar to this for "Revolver". Maybe it will happen in the future.
Well yes I agree...but I believe I read somewhere that Giles Martin said."The technology isn't quite there yet for Revolver and Rubber Soul to get the same treatment....we are close...just not there yet.." of course i'm paraphrasing.
it finally happened
No tiene el LP vinilo ??
Great shirt mate. Love. Steven. Wilson.
Great.. I love it :)

Nice t shirt!
Hi,, great video. You mentioned having heard Abbey Road remixed by Giles Martin. Has that been released?
Jeff Owen he said he heard pepper at the abbey rd preview for journalists

Is this the UK edition? Could anybody tell me if is it region free?
Hi, can you please tell me wich region coded are the dvd and the blu ray? Thanks in advance.
They're both region free.
Paul, wonderful job!

LOL!
Did he only refer to CDs and DVDs only? What about the vinyl discs? I missed any reference or view of that. Maybe its not included in this package.
Daniel Achille correct.
I just bought this, it's amazing, apparently there's going to be a white album box set as well 🎸🎸♥️♥️
HOLY-MOLY! REALLY?
That's what Giles Martin said, I hope the mono mix will be as good as sgt pepper
Correct - Just confirmed today 21.6.18

The video is alright but it seems so rushed in parts and a bit choppy. But it's fine.
why have they ruined she's leaving home by speeding it up?!
Because that's how it was mixed originally for the mono with the Beatles present. The slowed down stereo mix OTOH was done without them.
I like Paul McCartney of "The Beatles".

Thank you. Your views are appreciated among all the superlatives here.
pity there arent any actual samples to listen to. i will definitely not buy it unless i can hear it first
You've stolen Macca's haircut.
As much as I love this box set, the asking price of $190 here in Canada is absolutely outrageous.

Hand. Cannot. Erase.!
Lol
Sgt. Pepper is not even the best Beatles album ...
A Very Overrated album......................................
Meet the Beatles, Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Abbey Road are all better................
That doesn’t make it overrated, it just means your preference lies elsewhere in their album catalogue!
