The filter on this thing is the bees knees. I love it to the point of distraction. So glad it has audio in to effect other gear along with that reverb which is the ducks nuts.
Hope you don't mind but I took the first 90 seconds and made a loop out of it for personal use - amazing for closed-eye relief when I've got a migraine!! 🤗
Hi Kirk.
Hello. I've been looking at the Summit for a long time, it's a very powerful synth and it sounds great. I am very interested in the quality of the case itself, what it is made of, the quality of the knobs and the keyboard. how well everything is done. How easy it is to make patches yourself, is there Wavetable synthesis. I will be very grateful if you share with me.🙏🤟
90 minutes wow thank you. Character and uniqueness plenty. Maybe the best thing from England since EMS. Totally underrated. Think I get me one. Are there any known issues?
The only thing I miss right now is on synth A B basis the option to pan hard right and left also semi tone tuning on A or B. Currently its only octave based. But I think Novation will listen and make this happen with a firm ware. Fingers crossed :)
Yes yes yes yes yes, these are the synth videos I absolutely love. Every time I click on a synth demo video and I hear someone speak i want to shoot myself.
Beautiful sounds. I just love the versatility of this synth. No one really talks about how dope the Novation Summit is for EDM sounds and those classic supersaw/hypersaw type sounds. I've made a couple of sounds demo videos showing how aggressive this beast can sound. Check out my latest patches, click the link below. th-cam.com/video/pzYSZTk_f_I/w-d-xo.html
It's a collection of the original ones and those you can download from Novation and a commercial pack. some of them I left as they are and some I tweaked it for my taste.
Ok, I upload my favorite patches to Summit, disconnect the computer, go with the band to the concert. How fast can I call e.g. program 2 then 9 then 5 while playing a song ?
This is like a Virus nuisance, so I sold it. There must be quick access buttons for the concert, because there is no time for +/- scrolling or using the knob, it is easy to make a mistake in the choice. Summit joins the next synthesizers that are not very good at performances, while home or studio use is a great piece of equipment. Korg Prologue 16 is a better key for the stage because it has QA buttons.
Hello, I saw that your last name is Monteux and that you seem interested in Pierre Monteux. If this is the case, we have blood ties because he is my great great grandfather.
Very nice demo but wait....Oooh no ! There you have the new Prophet 5. After watching some YT video's I could only smile about the new Sequential. I'll stick with my Summit. Surpasses the new P5 in every way. Unless you prefer some overpriced mythical nostalgia over real synthesizer power.
Thanks. Well if a new Prophet then with 10 voices only. Despite there is no new invention in this, the clean structured surface might drag a lot of people into it.
Yes, the Summit destroys the new P5 but that's ok, it destroys my Mini-Korg too but the Korg has a distinct sound and it's fun to have both! Same with the P5, it could live together with the Summit for a lot of fun.
What would you say about the Summit vs Moog Matriarch in terms of pure analog sound? I think in this case the Matriarch wins, although for the price of giving up patch memory and full polyphony. But the raw analog sound of the matriarch seems more distinct to me.
@@bateimidrashnetwork seems like the moog would win out in pure moog/analog sound (it being a moog and all) but the summit seems more of a Swiss army knife synth.
Please watch Part 2. with all my favorite multi patches here: th-cam.com/video/4GBo-55g5A0/w-d-xo.html

i like to think there's a special section of heaven reserved for synthesizer makers, because of how much joy they bring to this world.
Finally somebody showing the pure analog power of the filter and drive section by turning off the effects! Thumbs up 😊👍
Thanks to Novation who made that knob available, which should have any synthesizer mandatory by law.
Hey dude, thanks for playing lots of patches live and covering lots of territory without resorting to all arpeggiator all the time. You sold me!

Long playing videos with no talking are just what the doctor ordered sometimes. And this synth has range like there's no tomorrow!

enjoying your Star Trek fleet uniform the most 🌠

Sounds very analog, Juno type sounds. I like it!
versatile and with pristine sound quality. a good one!
Man this sounds so CLEAN!
Thanks to the analog distortion stage it can be dirty too :)
Kind regards ... your Summit fits now perfectly in my setup 😉
yes it does!
You just convinced me. Thanks.
Awesome
Are you using a sequencer off camera, or are these all solely making use of the arpeggiator?
Superb demo, by the way!
all the sounds and sequences are purely made by the summit!
Sounds Killer!
Thanks
Thanks for the awesome demo - I am now 100% sold! These patches are great too. Anywhere to buy/download them?
So beautiful! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Outstanding sounds and performance! 😎👍
I can't get over how good and versatile this synth is. It should compete with REV2 and Hydrasynth.
It does indeed
Very nice sounds and vid. I love this synth but not sure to get this or an UDO Super 6 next...
I had the same thoughts for a moment, and it came clear the summit has just more to offer besides the huge numbers of voices
Great job Kirk, the Summit is amazing and your playing is cool too.
Thank you so much, a session with all my multi patches is coming up
Underrated synth

how are the black keys hinged? are they a nightmare to play near the end ?
Yes yes yes yes yes, these are the synth videos I absolutely love. Every time I click on a synth demo video and I hear someone speak i want to shoot myself.
I know what you mean, especially those who rather scream at you than talk. in the other hand if you wan't a full review someone has to talk.
Not bad... not baaad.

U r everywhere dude hahah
I would not hesitate buying this synth were it not for the keyboard. I would like to have it a s desktop (yes the full lenght of it).
But 2 Peaks and run them from an 88 note master keyboard then.
What is that weird hollow(?) body. Second on the left.

Nice patches - are these presets or did you make these? If so, can you share them?
Partly from the Novation library and partly from commercial patches. th-cam.com/video/ycqDeaxVmLA/w-d-xo.html
How are favorite presets selected when there are no programmable buttons ?
Its a selection of gazillions of presets organized with the novation desktop software "components" that let you down and upload your favorite patches.

Nice, but unfortunately only bitimbral, which is nuts. What a waste.
