It's a battle of distance. Ruiz wins by taking away the distance and getting on the inside again. He's good at doing it. But, if you watch the Parker fight, you see Ruiz struggles when he can't close the distance. If AJ stays on his toes, keeps moving, keeps that distance, he can win. He has to do an impression of Wladimir Klitschko basically. Might not be pretty but it gives him a good chance of winning.

Y’all were building him so much for that first fight with Ruiz. Weeks earlier wilder KOs breazeale in spectacular fashion. AJ, as well as AJ fans put so much expectation on him to win by spectacular KO as well. His fans predicting KO in round 1. KO in round 3 blah blah. then in round 3 when AJ had Ruiz down, thought he could rush in there and finish off Ruiz who was not completely hurt more so stunned. In rushing in and trying to finish him AJ gets caught by a left hook from which he never recovers. He just needed the win. He didn’t need to go there and blast Ruiz. This is where the people around him should’ve told him just win. Box. Don’t rush things. Wilder defeated AJ without even facing him 😂.

Joshua is a dedicated trainer, has power, reach, accuracy, fast punches and timing...but he is a big target for Ruiz and Ruiz is the more natural, schooled and fluid fighter. Probably because it was so boring it would have made people not bother watching the actual fight.

He mentioned his mood like 4 times, I hope AJ is not someone who has frequent mood swings, that’s something to watch out for in the next couple of days

One of the things that would benefit Anthony Joshua Massively is to learn how to LEAN BACK from punches and also how to HOLD on an opponent , like Jack Johnson and Muhammad Ali used to do. This is something he never did in his 1st fight with Andy Ruiz.
When he was in trouble AJ didn't know what to do. But if he simply leaned back and stepped to the side he would have avoided Andy's punches with ease. And holding on to get a breather would have helped AJ too. These TWO things would benefit AJ greatly. Other than that AJ knows what to do because he knows Andy Ruiz can ONLY box one way and that's to come forward moving his head, countering AJ's jab and combinations and throwing multiple power punches of his own.

That's why I said, if you noticed, he has to learn to how to hold.

AJ's sparring partners (rumored) to include so far: Tom Little, Timothy Moten, Dereck Chisora, Lawrence Okoli, Andrew Tabiti, Hussein Muhamed, Carlos Takam. I don't think anyone has knocked him out. I understand he does technical sparring not full on fighting.
