I recently used one of these in a self defense situation here in LA. I've had it since May of this year. I carry it in my van with a fresh co2 and with 4 loaded cylinders, Two with what are called Devastator BBs in a Sabot and Hard Nylon rounds, and one in the gun with devastators. I Fired 4 shots of the Devastator rounds center mass at them and my attacker backed away and fled from the scene really quick. I had my Cold Steel Luzon as a backup but I didn't need to resort to it. It works. It definitely works for self defense. I wouldn't never recommend it over a gun but I definitely recommend it for us who want to be lawful in LA of all places.

This is a great option for those who live in apartments or condominiums, due to potential over-penetration issues with regular firearms. After all, you don’t want to harm or eliminate loved ones or any innocent people. God bless you, sir, long live the Republic, and Merry Christmas!
Thank you sir as a armed security officer at an apartment complex in Mississippi filled with young people I have to be conscious about that everyday not to use my Glock 40 cal if the need calls for and hitting someone else who is innocent 😂
Hey, I just wanted to say that of all the TR50 videos I've seen on youtube this is the best one. You're very thorough and pretty much answered all the questions I had concerning this revolver. The demonstration of how long it would take to change magazines was one of the questions I had and you answered that. I have a Gen 3 TR50L 13 Joules or 480fps. I'd love to see a video on that version of the TR50 as the 3rd gen increased from 11 to 13 Joules. Great video and thanks so much. I've probably watched it like 3 or 4 times.
@alfredj.leeper2920 open it then open it again the top right where the hammer would be in a real gon there's a brass cap then you use a screw or whatever and push out the restrictor out then screw the brash cap back on and you're done.
As an ex felon in California from 1997..I have this gun and love it. I'm amazed how powerful it is ..along with my Umarex Air Saber I'm set for home protection ....TIP...I spray a little WD-40 on the devastator pellets and they fly out of there... great video 👍
Hope you can get your 2nd Amendment rights back in CA. There are attorneys on here that specialize in this area. Go for it and let us know how it turns out.👍 Otherwise you may have to leave CA to get your 2nd Amendment rights back from any other state than CA.
We used to add oils and greases to pellets in an air rifle. I think it's called dieseling. You get combustion of the oil if you do it right and it definitely gives extra power.
Dieseling won't happen with co2, to create dieseling it needs air or the oxygen in the air , remember, co2 is used as a fire extinguisher and works by stopping the oxygen in the air getting to the combustion. WD40 would help if the pellet is a tight fit. I spray silicone dry lube in most my barrels to help em slide easier
Hey PEOPLE LISTEN UP!!! Saw this video and went on Amazon to see if it was available there. Of course, I always read the review section extensively before making any purchase. Time and time again, people were complaining of this very CO2 gun blowing up, with no fault of the user. Apparently, there have been instances where the CO2 cartridges fill up the tank (unintentionally), and when the pressure goes too high, the reservoir blows up. People have had damages to their car windows, household sheetrock, and one reviewer got a broken jaw (allegedly). There are many accompanying fotos of the damaged guns on Amazon. Of course, a lot of people had nothing but positive experiences. However the negative ones, were pretty bad. Don’t want to see anyone getting hurt, so I had to share this info.
The one that said he had his jaw broken had a picture of the co2 cartridge in the chamber upside down. If he hit it hard enough to puncture the bottom of the tank the contents of the co2 cartridge would have emptied into the chamber. The loading upside down Im sure is causing issues for those that dont read the instructions.
CO2 air guns don’t “overpressurize” and “blow up”unintentionally. The pressure is limited by the amount of liquid CO2 in the cylinder. The pressure is about 800 psi at room temperature and remains consistent until all the liquid vaporizes, at which time the pressure begins to drop rapidly as you shoot. Of course any gas cylinder can be dangerously overheated. But this typically is a result of foolish experiments or a gas cylinder in poor condition .
Not for nothin, but the devastators don't expend more gas, it's just the same amount of gas pushing more weight. The gun is designed to put out a fixed volume of gas with each shot. Also as the total volume of gas in the cylinder decreases, it can effect how much gas becomes available in the chamber for your next shot. Temperature is a factor with these guns too. As the CO2 cools down the components of the gun, the density of the gas decreases and reduces power a bit. Great video though. Very informative as to the power and capability of these guns. We have one for home defense ourselves. We chose this over a more traditional handgun not because firearms aren't available (we live in TN), but because I feel it helps eliminate the hesitation factor. If you're hesitant about the idea of killing someone, a less lethal option might make it easier for you to pull the trigger when you really should.
I got the Stinger 2 compact pistol crossbow for home defense. I modified it to be able to shoot those gold bolts. The modifications made the crossbow more reliable, as well. I feel confident this crossbow will do a good job for home defense. I will buy a gun eventually, but this will do for now.
I have the same pistol. I like the 2.7 gram rubber-steel balls, no loss of fps and they will break 1" X 4" fence slats in half at 40 feet. This solves my high density housing dilemma as I worry about a pass-through and harming an innocent person. A thin wall can be your downfall, especially living in a condo.
Yes, so true! That fact is overlooked! AR-15 or .40, 357 in an apartment?? No way man. I own this .50 cal and the .68 too. Also the S2, Gavle and Byrna LE. And have destroyed thick cans and boards. They are an option for sure!
I have one of these and it's so much fun! You can fire ceramic balls for maximum damage, the steel balls are too heavy and the CO2 doesn't have enough power to get any velocity out of them. The ceramic balls are very light and very hard. You can alternate pepper balls and ceramic balls and really provide something better than nothing. If you just like to shoot at pop cans and random stuff around the house the rubber balls are awesome
its not about the velocity it’s about the weight and velocity combined so although the heavier slugs are moving slower they have more energy due to the weight
@@Seabass1206 momentum is mass x velocity. There's a point of diminishing return with the energy you can extract out of a CO2 cartridge. The mass of a steel ball makes it so slow it's really not effective. The density and speed of a ceramic ball causes way more pain to your flesh. Trust me, I've been hit with everything except the pepper balls. The only time the steel balls hurt is if they hit a bone and it bounces off a winter jacket. Ceramic balls will penetrate denim and break skin
@@Seabass1206 You are technically correct, but the guy you are replying too is still correct. Although a slow moving but heavier ball can achieve the same joules as a fast moving but lighter ball, the lighter ball would still be superior. The heavy ball will be slow, which makes it easier for your target to narrowly escape the shot when he is scattering around. Also, since the ball is heavier, it won't be able to travel as far, and won't be as accurate. A lighter ball can be shot further, will stay on target further, and will have an easier time of overcoming the reflexes of your target. My comment only applies to heavy balls and light balls that achieve the same joules. If the heavy ball has more impact force, than it is superior to the lighter ball.
I got the same Umarex .50 and the main reason for the plastic surface of devestator rounds is to protect the barrel. Like it says in the website i ordered it: "The usage of the steel balls will damage your device. If you want to get more penetration with your self defense gun buy the smaller cal option, there are automatic choises with 30 rounds capasity like .25 that are actually fatal. If you want to pick a self defense C02- weapon, there`s a "sawed off shotgun" wersion out there (manuafactured that way) and the steel balls will reck it.
@seanx476 who also willingly gave their rights away and demean us for enjoying our God given rights. They choose safe slavery over dangerous freedom, a life as sheep over a day as a Lion. To hell with them.
Great Video! You are right on everything about this TR50. I have this one as well (11 J) and I made the mistake of not having a proper back drop, I missed the target, and a aluminum ball went in the wall, splitting the slat board behind the plaster as well, I have a old house where the walls are very tough. This is a powerful weapon to have on hand, just in case!
Deter, Delay, Distract, that's what these are really great for, if you have nothing else. And yes I own tuned up versions of the .50 and .68. The tuned up .50 will will blow through a cookie sheet no problem.
(4:12) The advantage of being able to not pierce the cartridge and not pressurizing the gun until you're ready to use it is that air guns will gradually leak air and lose pressure if they sit there unused.
@@chrisgaskill7923 Different power source. The airbow is a PCP, it's just high pressure air. All PCP guns are meant to be left filled. This is a pure CO2 pistol, they pretty much always leak and also don't work in the cold.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that if used for home defense it WILL stop even the most motivated attacker dead in their tracks. Use stainless steel Z-RAMs slugs or 50Cal ball bearing, and do one of the many available power upgrades including the barrel extension. Before doing any upgrade it is important to determine what power-valve your gun came with. Some are only pressure fitted on, some are pressure fitted and crimped on only two sides and the best one (which is actually in the 7 Joule lowest power model) is ring crimped all the way around. The pressure fitted and double crimped version have been know to come apart when the gun is modified with the larger hole gas-valve and shorter valve-pin. If you have one of these versions be sure to store it where it is not exposed to excessive heat to prolong the life/integrity of the valve-body. For locations where it is difficult to obtain a real firearm one of these (especially when modified) WILL save your life. Choose the slugs that do the most damage. There are lots of video showing which ones to buy.
@@justinfaires2782 Mine shoots through plywood, far less a denim jacket. Do you even know what a Z-RAM is? Even at only 400ft per second one of those slugs would probably kill someone if they got hit anywhere in the or vitals. Again if you cannot get a real gun this will make whatever is in front of you leave….immediately. Or just scream and cry until the police come.
In a bank robbery gunfight, the FBI lost several agents that way, prompting them to convert to firearms yielding 18" penetration in ballistic gel. They've switched things up several times since then.
People joking about it being less than lethal or not a real firearm I doubt would voluntarily step in front of it. 400 fps is nothing to joke around about and definitely lethal
Lots of people don't realize you can hunt larger game with air guns, you're not gonna hunt with this obviously, but an air rifle taking down a buck? Yep.

Sootch Sometimes I questioned myself about the promotion of products if it is a paid endorsement but your testing of this lethal self defense air pistol is definitely going to help the person who made a mistake in their past and cannot ever own a firearm. I also have to say it has changed my opinion of you. Well done.
Excellent video!! Thank you very much for showing the different types of ammunition and their performance. As well as, the possible inconveniences when reloading the weapon during a self-defense situation. I want to mention that I live in a country where firearms are not allowed for personal defense use, so this type of non-lethal or "deterrent" defense weapon is the best option available. I have decided to purchase one for myself. thank you so much!
51 seconds in and it's already the best non lethal weapon review video, in 51seconds this man managed to show me and provide me with the audio that I would be interested in. Will def be checking out more videos on this channel if this is the standard.
It's not lethal as far as deadly because they are not made to be lethal .. It is an airgun not a real pistol, but I can tell you those 50 cal pellets can penetrate skin and no doubt would hurt and sting, that along with the realistic looks and sound of being fired would most likely chase any home invader away,, and what is great is they are perfect for those who do not have pistol permits or can not own a Firearm ( Pellet and BB guns are considered Airguns are not considered a legal Firearm ) I used to Work in Airgun Manufacturing and can tell you this is more powerful than what I have ever seen
Considering in most homes you will be at 10 ft range I would think this is a good option for self-defense. Plus it's less lethal so you won't have to deal with the legal mess of if you accidentally kill an intruder.
@@gaspumprepairservice7009 Yet a prosecutor may argue differently, and your self-defense case goes out the window. Don't be naive in thinking just because YOU thought it was self defense, that a prosecutor would prove otherwise just because they could.

Love that PVC target stand. I came up with that back in the 90's cheap, easy to fix, light, dissasemble by pulling the virticle apart from the base and put the 2 pieces in the truck. Easy stow also.
You're one of the firearm channels I like the most. I think you should think about maybe doing some vids with black powder guns and some pepper/bear spray options for self defense. Either way, love your channel, you're definitely the go to source I pick if I'm looking for information on something and I see you have a video on it.
Great video thanks. My opinion is, in the heat of the moment, even if it's an armed assailant, if this assailant hears them rounds pop off, and feel them snake bites, he's not going to think that's a non-lethal weapon coming at me. Instinctively in that moment he will think you shooting a real weapon. Especially when the blood starts flowing. My money is on this being an excellent self-defense weapon. Only a strong as an ox person won't take off running for his life.
I think here in the Netherlands we can't even have this: it looks too much like a real firearm. Still, I doubt that this is a good option for self defense, it'll hurt like heck to be shot with this... but nothing more. A better option is a modern repeating crossbow. Legal in most countries, and those things are deadly at close range. I own a small one, and can get off 6 accurate shots in under 10 seconds, reloading another 6 bolts takes less than 5 secs. Not as good as a firearm, but a viable home defense option.
I have so much fun with mine! But I use a whole raw chicken and you would be amazed at how it penetrates. It simulates proper skin, bone, muscle. The only way I would use it for home defense is head shots only! 68 to 80 deg f should keep Co2 at peak performance. Shooting it too fast weakens velocity and accuracy. Therefore depleting your Co2 quicker than desired. After all it’s not a fire arm! Instead of oil I use a dab of WD-40! It last longer. You don’t have to keep doing that in case you forget a few times. But honestly I didn’t think there would be a proper video of this. Mines is modded by the way so it is lethal. But I won’t share that info because there are a lot of irresponsible people out there..
I would suggest painting the nut on the far side of the cylinder red . Easily recognizing that if it faces you when trying to replace the cylinder that is the wrong way. Just my way of recognizing
Living in the U.K., especially the part of the U.K. I live in, in which firearms aren’t prevalent, I can see this being useful. Most burglars here would either not be armed or would use hammers, baseball bats or knives. This would actually be the best counter here aside from an actual gun (we have strict laws), this could repel burglars or street thugs from a distance and because it’s a repeater you could use it to maintain distance or at the very least afford yourself more time to either run or ready yourself for a fight against an already injured guy. An excellent video. Thank you.
I used to have a Crossman semi auto air pistol in my home. It's better than nothing and I didn't have to fill out any paperwork. My stepson asked me what I thought I was going to do with that and I promise you that if I'm shooting you in the head with it you're going to stop what you're doing long enough for me to reach the ball bat at the front door.
I'd like to see a Byrna T50 side by side comparison. Also, I'd like to see the steel balls in cased in orange plastic beef up with Vicks jelly dabbed on the backside of the cartridge in each hole. It should double the velocity and add a little flame.
That's called "dieseling" (works the same way), it works with 20 joules air carbine, but CO2 does not permit combustion. And moreover, dieseling spoils the inner parts of the gun. Greeting from France.
I'm not a felon nor restricted but I'm not comfortable owning a gun due to past mental health issues. This video was very informative, think I'm going to pick one of these up. Thank you!
This is to the negative comments. I purchased this Air Gun and the red slug devastator . I shot the devastator from 30 meters at a tree. The devastator round entered the tree 1/4". Common sense to the negative comments, that these guns are NON-FATAL and it will prevent civil lawsuits and money. I hate to be the receiver end being shot by the devastator. My Fiancée and I have the HDR 50 and the devastator rounds and Sabre pepper gel.
I own an armed security firm. I might get one of these &paint half the barrel orange. Everyone including me is former or current law enforcement and the pepper or the polymer balls would be great for that intermediate level of force. Leave it in the company vehicle and this is not a bad price at all.
With the recent handgun ban in Canada, an air pistol shooting under 500fps is about as good as newcomer to shooting can get. As a non-firearm it would also be free of many restrictions regarding transport and storage.
It is, but the only suppliers not out of stock are demanding a certificate of a paintball club to be shown before an order can be completed! nanny state UK
Amazing review video by the way. very quick yet straight to the point with all the vital information we would need to make a choice & covering all the bases of the use of the firearm. 👍
After watching thousands of Active Self Protection videos over the last few years, I've noticed that nearly every time a defender shoots at an attacker, the attackers immediately run off. In the heat of the moment, I doubt they'll realize that this isn't a real firearm. Not a terrible option for prohibited possessors, although there are more powerful rifle airguns.
yeah but you can't walk around with a rifle if you want a more concealed weapon...when you're OUT.... that where most of the crazies are...when you home you can use a real gun....well unless you're in a democrat commie state....
@angrysocialjusticewarrior not necessarily, you insert a mag in a 1911 the same way. Don't take your weapon out until your willing to use it and theres little time to see type of gun it is. Piercing the co2 can be done discretly.
As ridiculous as this weapon looks, there's certain states and countries where this is your best option without doing a ridiculous, probably rigged test just to own a gun.

Co2 is around 900psi. High pressure air, like modern airguns, are up to 4500 psi. I have a .45 cal precision air rifle that has over 620 ft/lb (not a typo) shooting a 350 gr hp bt @ just over 900fps. There are 5-0 cal HPA pistols as well.
I'm not in the US. Air rifles and .22lr were the "go to" choices when I was a kid. I returned to shooting a few years ago. When I went to purchase a new air rifle, I couldn't believe what I was looking at. Air rifles are not what they used to be, that's for sure. Yes, you've got big bangers like yours, but I couldn't believe how many options that there were for PCP's that compete fairly and squarely with a .22lr on a use case basis. I keep promising myself to get one, one day. In the meantime, it's an HW97 springer. Even that is an amazing rifle, compared to what we had 35 years ago.
I'm not complaining, but I really wanted a sidelever. I had a Webley Viscount, when I was a kid, and I've got to say, the balance was better than the Weihrauch. My dream at the moment is a top notch PCP. I love the look of the FX range. @@tormentorxl2732
I think most high powered pellet,BB guns are pretty good for defense. Even if you hit someone in the face and neck several times with a standard pellet gun, odds are they’re gonna be incapacitated or run away Mine takes dime sized chunks out of cinder blocks. Imagine a couple shots to the adams apple.
The trouble with ideas like this is that if you live in a country that does not allow you to use handguns for self defence (or at all) it's likely that you're not really allowed to defend yourself anyway. So the gun itself might be legal but not legal to be kept and used for it's intended purpose, at least that's the law in the UK.
Well at the time the intruder entered your home you just happened to be doing some target practice and they stood in the way. Whatever happens, law or not, if anyone comes into my home (I live in the UK) they will be leaving on a stretcher with paramedics.
I worry about gangs (I live in London) getting hold of these and entering other people’s houses. Most of them don’t really know the law and they might think it’s ok to shoot with it.
Purely on visual appeal, this is a very beautiful piece. It immediately reminded me of Deckard's blaster gun, also known as the Steyer Pfläger-Katsumata Series-D 5223 (PK-D 5223) or Detective Special, in the original Blade Runner movie. I would love to know if, or how much that 1982-era gun influenced the design of this new Umarex TR50.
Been watching you for years Sootch and I just realized who you remind me of. You got the danger element of Roy Scheider (Chief Brody) and the comedy of Chevy Chase. Great stuff thx for all your videos!
In the 80's my cousin had one of the early ones looked like a Smith&Wesson. I dont remember too much except that it was scary looking and he used to go hunting with it. This looks like it can do a lot more damage though nothing beats an old fashioned bullet. Oatmeal beats no meal i guess
My HDR 50 does about 25-30 joules. I carry that, a byrna LE and so on. Trust me, loaded up with some killer spikes and Eagle Eye 380 slugs, you will get someone away from you. And yes there's ammo for these that will penatrate flesh. You can also run these on hpa...some serious stuff.
or just buy the HDX 68 and but the power kit that pushes it to 40 joules. The 40 joule kit is not even an aftermarket part. The international version of the HDX 68 comes in 40 joules as standard, so you just need a few parts from the 40 joule version to upgrade the american HDX to 40 joules. Once you have a stock 40 joule HDX, you can then install aftermarket parts to get it to 60-80 joules. At these power levels, you will have to go from avoiding body shots, to focusing only on body shots to avoid manslaughter charges.
I have the same thing at home. I wanted to know how much energy the metal balls were putting out but you only measured the rubber balls. Also, next time try 50 cal solid metal balls without the sabot and measure the energy. You're one of favorite channels so please continue the information. Here in Commie-fornia I keep this thing in my car.
I have one …actually I have several “less than lethal” guns and they work well and get the job done. Now having said that, not every job will call for the same tool. Train constantly and know what battles to choose and which to turn from or use a different tool. You’re not going to come out on top against someone who has a firearm.
Nice neview! Maybe the silver hex nut on the magazine/ammo clips can be blacked out to aid in proper clip insertion during reloads. When the "silver star" on the clip is facing you, you'll know its facing the correct direction when reloading.
Thank you for the discount code! 😊 It will be a nice addition to my 9mm guns. Never tried anything like this. But I will enjoy. I want an AR-15 next. It's good to be prepared.

This model can easily be doubled in power. Using the devastators at double the power, shooting for the face, neck, groin, no one is going to be mad enough to keep charging. Against a firearm, it is worse than David and Goliath. You would have to get the shots off first and they would need Devine intervention. and hit the eyes, or throat. Great review!. We all know firearms are better, but, the most important thing is not to resign oneself to being a victim. Against a knife or club, you have, at least a chance.

It's unfortunate that in the state of NJ, everything is illegal. It's very difficult to obtain this type of weapon for home defense or any for that matter. I appreciate your variety of content. It's good to have choice options for deterring evil intent. My biggest dread of lethal force is the paperwork, legal system and expense :guilty til proven innocent. The airgun options are growing exponentially allowing for fun and serious uses at a budget friendly price.
I watch dashcam accident and near-miss channels, and they always feature some intense road-rage situations. Situations showing some very hot-headed driver trapping the camera-car driver, getting out, and then beating on the windows and whatnot. No obvious weapons, but very hostile intent. Just the sight of one of these may change the rager's mind! Not to mention, in theory, it shouldn't fall into the same gray area that some municipalities like to use against a defender--'brandishing a firearm for someone merely trying to smash your windows and pull you out of your car?!' Possibly.
I like guns, but I feel like I would be more likely to actually shoot someone with this, without too much hesitation, knowing it is probably not going to kill them, especially if the first shot or two is a pepper ball. That could be a life saver if it turned out they were more dangerous than they appeared to be. I definitely do not want to kill someone who was just being stupid.

You can increase the power by about 2-3x if you remove the CO2 restrict or and change out the barrel. Both can be done with a jewelers screwdriver
Please ,, how to remove the restrict
@alfredj.leeper2920 open it then open it again the top right where the hammer would be in a real gon there's a brass cap then you use a screw or whatever and push out the restrictor out then screw the brash cap back on and you're done.
What is the barrel used to achieve the modification, and where does one go to purchase this barrel ?
Please make a video of this! 🙏🏼
Add a touch of petroleum jelly to back of pellet for faster round...
@@geoffg46 Use NOS cylinders instead then ;)

3:00 Adode puedo mandarlo abuscar y el costo PUERTO RICO..$
CO2 air guns don’t “overpressurize” and “blow up”unintentionally. The pressure is limited by the amount of liquid CO2 in the cylinder. The pressure is about 800 psi at room temperature and remains consistent until all the liquid vaporizes, at which time the pressure begins to drop rapidly as you shoot. Of course any gas cylinder can be dangerously overheated. But this typically is a result of foolish experiments or a gas cylinder in poor condition .
Good lookin out, thanks for the heads-up
Photos*

Last part made me lol
You sound like a clear thinking person whose house is best avoided!😂
I got the Stinger 2 compact pistol crossbow for home defense. I modified it to be able to shoot those gold bolts. The modifications made the crossbow more reliable, as well. I feel confident this crossbow will do a good job for home defense. I will buy a gun eventually, but this will do for now.
me too , Im very happy with mine
If the heavy ball has more impact force, than it is superior to the lighter ball.
haha imagine getting pepper sprayed and whacked with steel balls at the same time. chaos
He takes classes on BALLS
that's pretty freaking cool
In any case, something is better than nothing. The peace of mind having a form of self-defense gives you is priceless.

(4:12) The advantage of being able to not pierce the cartridge and not pressurizing the gun until you're ready to use it is that air guns will gradually leak air and lose pressure if they sit there unused.

Different power source. The airbow is a PCP, it's just high pressure air. All PCP guns are meant to be left filled. This is a pure CO2 pistol, they pretty much always leak and also don't work in the cold.
@@thomasmacdonough288 ahhhh........you bring up a very significant point! Air pressure goes down as temperature drops.
An intruder with a denim jacket would be an issue ha ha ha Definately don't bring this to a gun fight.
@@justinfaires2782 Mine shoots through plywood, far less a denim jacket. Do you even know what a Z-RAM is? Your first sentence is complete BS. I've seen several people that were shot several times by real guns that continued their attacks until they died.
In a bank robbery gunfight, the FBI lost several agents that way, prompting them to convert to firearms yielding 18" penetration in ballistic gel. They've switched things up several times since then.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that your comment is so absurd it's comical.

Thank you.

It should double the velocity and add a little flame.
That's called "dieseling" (works the same way), it works with 20 joules air carbine, but CO2 does not permit combustion.
And moreover, dieseling spoils the inner parts of the gun.

Whatever happens, law or not, if anyone comes into my home (I live in the UK) they will be leaving on a stretcher with paramedics.

or just buy the HDX 68 and but the power kit that pushes it to 40 joules.
@anidiotmakesthingsBeginner here: can you elaborate on that? Why wouldn't someone be able to stop an attacker?
@anidiotmakesthings Much appreciated. Interesting angle on the whole topic. Thanks.
10:09 Always love your reviews- appreciate these air options very much because I’m stuck in an expensive blue state. Thanks!

Hi Nick here from Portugal love your videos keep up the great work, thanks
Great review! I guess it beats a sharp stick. I’m glad I live in a free state where my 2A rights are not suppressed too much.

Actually what caught my eye about it ,thought that’s what it looked like.
I think it's cool, but I am getting older 😂😂😂😂

Looks like a good platform for a smart bullet gun with 11 joules soft launch
Hahaha!!!!
Sootch is awesome! Great video. 👍
I have one …actually I have several “less than lethal” guns and they work well and get the job done. Now having said that, not every job will call for the same tool. Train constantly and know what battles to choose and which to turn from or use a different tool. You’re not going to come out on top against someone who has a firearm.
I want the secret behind how whomever picked that most perfect watermelon I have ever seen!!
3 signs to look for: Overall dark with strong bright beach ball lines and a yellow blotch
That is a cool device!!
Still using my Sig P250 Compact 9mm with 21 round extended mags. Yes I practice staging the trigger and yes I know it's very old school.
Due to the new gun laws here in Brazil I'm thinking abt buying a less-lethal gun. I was looking for the Bravo LTL, goes for somewhere arround 20 joules. Could you please make a review and a ballistic test of It?
You can still get a gun license no? Even if Lula wants to tighten some things up
I would love to see the upgraded version and it’s capabilities.. that's pretty freaking cool.
Some people mod them up to 20-30j. Can be lethal at close distance with metal ammo.
I would love to see the upgraded version and it’s capabilities.
Channel called mad dog air guns has done extensive mods on it. Some I think worth while , some not. Also air gun alley has done lots with it including mini arrows.
its called a 357 mag.python
bought one satisfyed with the quality and test run interesting
As said a viable option for multiple reasons, and multiple situations, but only if a gun is not an option. Army M.P. 76 to 82

In America most people are shot by their own firearms.. sad fact.
Ain’t it appalling? Every other living creature has the natural right to appropriate means of self 2nd Amendment is all about ‘guarding against tyrannical government’. Makes it all very clear, does it?
This model can easily be doubled in power. Using the devastators at double the power, shooting for the face, neck, groin, no one is going to be mad enough to keep charging. Against a firearm, it is worse than David and Goliath. You would have to get the shots off first and they would need Devine intervention. and hit the eyes, or throat. Great review!. We all know firearms are better, but, the most important thing is not to resign oneself to being a victim. Against a knife or club, you have, at least a chance.
1. It is a stupid idea
2. David, and Goliath is a myth.
3. It is DIVINE, not Devine.
If you mean going up against someone with a firearm with a less lethal, is stupid, I agree. Congratulation, you saw my spelling error, and informed as all that the David and Goliath story was a myth. Pure genius. @@xx8836
@@xx8836 I'm curious...if you think the idea is stupid, then what is your reasoning, or your thoughts, on various law enforcement agencies using them? And cases like this one:
th-cam.com/video/V-lT12mwAEk/w-d-xo.html
The suspect thought he was shot with a firearm...and that's just the stock Byrna. I personally have the Umarex HDR, but modded to produce about 21 joules, or nearly twice the power of one in this video (and equal to the power of the Byrna Law Enforcement version used in the example cited).
@@xx8836 The fact that David and Goliath is likely a myth in no way reflects on the commenter's post, his argument stills stands. The pointing out of spelling mistakes hardly contributes to the topic but does mark you as having some form of superiority complex. But hey, congrats on being a signed up member of the speling police club.
It's cool that it's Legal to carry in every US State and City!
Practical or not, it sure looks like a lot of fun!
If nothing else, it looks great for target practice. It rings steel nicely, and the holes on paper are big enough to see from a distance.
"Looks great" indeed...reminds me of Deckard's revolver from Blade Runner.
That is all it is good for.

500 magnum has a new contender
Lol.. not even close. The energy is nowhere near as powerful
Clearly a joke that went right over your head.
It's unfortunate that in the state of NJ, everything is illegal. It's very difficult to obtain this type of weapon for home defense or any for that matter. The only concern with using this type of gun for home defense is that the intruder will more than likely be carrying a real firearm that he obtain illegally no less.
This may have its place when considering home defense, but the bad guys are carrying some serious heat. Enjoyed the vid. Thx
I appreciate your variety of content. It's good to have choice options for deterring evil intent. My biggest dread of lethal force is the paperwork, legal system and expense :guilty til proven innocent. The airgun options are growing exponentially allowing for fun and serious uses at a budget friendly price.
Wait until a junky beats you to death because you didn't use lethal force first.
Bad guys don't carry non lethal weapons. You gotta fight fire with fire.
@@culcune I watch Watch People Die . Co
You do know the majority of gun owners ARE victims of gun violence... usually from their own weapons. Evil intent IS owning instruments of violence.
I think I’ll stick to bullets, tested, it does the job.
I used to target practice with air rifle’s when in my early teens.
1/4" or 5/16" tungsten carbide balls in a discarding sabot might get better penetration.
What great video!! This seems like a less lethal means of home defense...opposed to using a 12gauge shot gun for home defense.
U can't count on anything with air 100 percent of time. There far less rwliable
@@chrishoman3928 Exactly, we'll stick with our trusted 12 gauge's !!

I have to wonder what this would do with the 320 grain slug if it fits the mag.
This is also a great option for those who just don't like guns.
🤣😂🤣it’s still a gun and I like it
@@davidsellers3639, I was going with the definition that most people use, seeing as this uses air/CO2 it is not considered a gun by legal terms.
