I am 25, didn’t know what to do with my life, no degree, being unemployed, my friends getting married, HUGE anxiety and depression started to rise. Zoloft helped me find myself. Still unemployed and crap, but happy because I started to develop hobbies. I wake up with a cause. I cook, make videos on TikTok, going to the gym, doing self care. I aspire to be a successful content creator. This is something I couldn’t achieve without medication. It saved my life literally.

Reddit made me too scared to even take it when I could have started months ago, I had to delete the app because they’re so negative. Keep in mind that the people on Reddit are not a reflection of everyone taking Zoloft, only people with issues with it actually seek advice out on forums so it’s always so negative :(

I have had life-long depression from mild to severe. At the age of 57, I was prescribed sertraline for the first time after taking every antidepressant on the market over the course of my illness (I started with Pamelor, which is not even used or mentioned anymore, to give you an idea how long I've been treating the depression). My experience was similar to yours in that the initial dose of 50 mg helped the anxiety and depression but didn't quite get me where I needed to be, so I was prescribed 100 mg. I have never been so positive or in a consistent good mood all the time. I am so grateful I lived long enough to experience this. I'm 64 now, so almost seven years of serenity.

I did this for three days. I know how crazy this . may seem BUT I have now been taking this medicine 100 mgs a day for over ten years, my depression and anxiety are mostly in the past. I started with 50mg three days ago and so far the side effects have been mild. Had a slight feeling of confusion and short term memory took a bit of a hit. No nausea or anything like that. My anxiety or depression hasn't really gotten worse. A bit drowsy maybe. But there's also been positive effects already. More relaxed and just general sense of wellbeing. Also for some reason I sleep a bit less. Dreams are a bit strange, like tripping and intense. Oh.. And been able to get into stuff easier, like watching a movie, work or listening to music. This all the music sounded so good I did a little dance.

I am a 44 year old male. I got rectal cancer when I was 41 and it was a tough year. Plus, my marriage took more of a hit than I realized at the time. I also came to realize while working on the trauma that I have probably had moderate depression for years. I just started on 50 mg about three weeks ago and it is already made a difference. I’m actually sleeping again. I was so anxious and angry that I was barely sleeping or eating. This is the most hopeful I have felt in ages.

Thank you. I've dealt with depression and anxiety for years, but I've always scared of getting on medication for it. I'm afraid that my depression and anxiety "aren't real" and getting on medication for something I don't have could be a bad thing, but that line of thinking literally just proves my anxiety. I finally got diagnosed for PTSD, anxiety, and depression last year and am 100% disabled for it by the VA, but I still kept avoiding doing something about it. But today I gave in and had my PCM prescribe me sertraline. I'm nervous about starting, but I hope I have results similarto you. One huge thing that I miss is my hobbies. I still claim to have them, and still have the stuff to do them, but it's been 3-5 years since I have participated in them.

I can relate to this so much. I realized I needed to seek help when I sat in a dark shower crying for two hours. My quick downward spiral started when I realized I didn’t film for two weeks (still haven’t filmed) and immediately started beating myself up telling myself I’m bad at it, I can never accomplish anything, not attractive enough etc. It felt like a dark cloud over my head and the smallest things made me feel even worse. Even just seeing crumbs on the table.
I felt I needed to seek help right away and so I went onto doctor on demand and spoke with a medical professional who prescribed me Zoloft and I picked it up that same evening. I’m only on day 3 but I feel better already in a sense that I’m taking care of myself and this is the first step in the right direction for me.
Don’t be afraid to seek help. Don’t let people tell you that you shouldn’t feel a certain way or that you’re “too pretty” to be depressed. Your feelings are valid and there are so many people that are battling with anxiety and depression around you. You’re not alone.

@@Nydeida I've been on zoloft for almost 3 years and it's true about the decreased libido (this also depends on each person) and on 100mg my libido was killed but felt really good and I could kick ass hahaha and the cravings were unbearable, I couldn't stop eating. This dosage was too strong for my and I went down to 50mg and the cravings stopped and regained some libido (like 60%) and finally after the first year I tried to tapered off and being without it was HELL.
I relapsed badly after carefully weaning off during 3 months. I felt hopeless, without purpose, I couldn't enjoy anything that I would previously would and I fought it really hard to stick to no meds but it was pointless to keep going like this.
Mind you, I always had mood swings and worried about every single thing, ruminating to no end, remembering the past and trying to change while I was in it (like being in inception and never getting out) I was never stable emotionally despite being in therapy and was used to it, it was my normal and I thought it was OK to feel that way, that I was just "sensitive".
I'm thankful for zoloft and I don't mind if I have to take it for life. If I can feel at ease inside my mind and enjoy life it's totally worth it. I also have to control some cravings and weight gain but at 50mg this is easier.

So much daily persistent stress with work most especially with my boss I won’t get into details. I was placed on a leave by my Dr. and ordered to begin Zoloft and Lamictal as part of my treatment plan. I’ve held the bottles for 2 weeks reluctant to take meds as I do not take ANY meds. He asked me how I thought I was doing. I guess since I had overcome a few hurdles, like boundaries with my older kids or not blowing up as frequent as work (I was in recovery lol.) I thought I no longer needed to be on the medication. As I continued to inform him about my sleepless nights, and overwhelming feelings about my family he asked if I would like to increase my meds from 25 to 50. I was like uhhhh Im not sure. In my mind I guess I thought that meant worse. Watching your video has given me a little peace. Well see what happens. Thanks again.

At the same time I am proud of myself because I feel I can smile again without to force myself. I am only 19years old, but the last time when I remember to laugh sincely 100% was at 6years old.
    Hope you are well, reader.

@@ZombieOfun I am now 3 weeks in and have noticed signs of improvement. I am still dealing with tension headaches, although maybe not as badly. The one thing I noticed last night was I felt a bit energetic, maybe too energetic. I am going to see if that goes away, and if not, I will talk to my doctor. The dosage might be too high. Thanks for asking!

Thank you so much for making this video I’ve been hesitant to take prescription meds for the longest although recently my therapist has recommended it to me because I haven’t been feeling like myself at all and the anxiety had consumed me. Hearing you say that it will get better after listing the symptoms I’m currently experiencing lifted a weight off my chest! God bless you❤️

Thank you for sharing. I was prescribed Zoloft today and hearing that you actually feel better is making me feel really good about my choice. I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for over 15 years but I didn't want to get help. I was urged to speak with a psychiatrist a few years ago, from a therapist I briefly saw, to be prescribed an antidepressant but my family and bf at the time told me not to do it. But here I am today making the choice to change for myself, I'm tired of feeling like this.

Totally understand. Remember that zoloft isn’t addictive. You can stop whenever you want, just give yourself about a week to taper off so your brain doesn’t get upset with the lack of serotonin. Hope you feel better with whatever path you choose!

If you taper off you're going to need more than a week. You will need to slowly taper off. I have tapered off of ssris 5 times. The slower ypu taper off the Lee's your withdrawal symptoms will be. I did alot better with brain zaps when I committed to a month or more of tapering off of them. But here I am again starting another ssri. Hang in there

I really appreciate all the info as I was just proscribed after many years of not on them. I hadn’t done research and gave up too soon years back due to lack of research along with denial.
I thought just counseling & out patient grip therapy just not to be on any medication.
This time I’m going to to all and give this med a chance as you helped me to better understand and feel not alone as I related to all your symptoms and I mean all. Looking to watch more videos and again thank you for the inspiration. Can’t wait to feel the hopes for living a step @ a time.
