But I think men get it even worse because they are expected to be providers and protectors (especially when it comes to using his own resources to help raise another man's offspring). The stepkids get resources from the bio dad and the step dad. But will the bio dad help raise your offspring and buy your child a gift? probably not. So the stepdad gets most of the responsibility of his child and the 3 other kids that belong to different men, which means less resources for his own child. Women really have to think about which type of deal they're offering when they say "package deal". Especially if he doesn't have any children of his own. It's almost like putting extra requirements on the stepdad, but she didn't make those same requirements for the man who impregnated her and he got a baby for free.

I am the product of this type of household, I was very self aware at a young age of my mother's poor choices, I questioned everything and the sense of entitlement she felt at the time for men she was dating to take on myself and two siblings was always opened my eyes to how women maneuver. Parents sometimes are so wrapped up in there wants and needs not realize how their decisions indirectly affect their kids at the time. Both my mother and father alike were dating and trying to blend these strangers into our family, but as kids we were smart enough to see that these ppl wanted nothing to do with us in the end. But I think men get it even worse because they are expected to be providers and protectors (especially when it comes to using his own resources to help raise another man's offspring). The stepkids get resources from the bio dad and the step dad. But will the bio dad help raise your offspring and buy your child a gift? probably not. So the stepdad gets most of the responsibility of his child and the 3 other kids that belong to different men, which means less resources for his own child. I am the product of this type of household, I was very self aware at a young age of my mother's poor choices, I questioned everything and the sense of entitlement she felt at the time for men she was dating to take on myself and two siblings was always opened my eyes to how women maneuver. Parents sometimes are so wrapped up in there wants and needs not realize how their decisions indirectly affect their kids at the time. Both my mother and father alike were dating and trying to blend these strangers into our family, but as kids we were smart enough to see that these ppl wanted nothing to do with us in the end. We were the baggage in the way of them getting the outcome they wanted.

It's the harsh reality of life as a single parent. Kids get in the way of the sole purpose of dating someone. This is why people shouldn't be having children unless they're in a situation where the relationship is going to stand the test of time, and also having children as part of a grand plan instead of being an accidental circumstance.
