Very good advice. Thank you! I especially like when you said, " If you can take something from complex to simple, you can go from simple to complex, and if you can do that, YOU KNOW IT!"
Great video! You definitely have the right mindset for getting through nursing school. I graduated with my RN in May and passed the NCLEX in July. I would say do not stress about not being able to read all those pages they give for exams. If your school provides you with an addendum, focus on it because it outlines what will be on the test. Also learning pathophysiology for diseases helped me greatly. Understanding patho can help you talk yourself through questions on exams to figure out the answers. Good luck with everything!
Yes girl good luck with everything! This is such a great video and advice. I am a nursing student as well currently taking patho / medsurg and been searching for some videos to keep me motivated (a year into my program) that positive mindset is key! There are so many people out here with such a negative mindset about nursing school and the career in general that discourage people from even taking the path. Awesome advice in this video and I pray God continues to bless you along this journey 🙏🏾💗🥳
I'm starting my prerequisites next year, right now I have no energy so right now I'm working on health and finding places outside of home so I can have some places to study when that time come
I just noticed that we attend the same school lol but i start the dental program next Monday and although you made this video for nursing i will be definitely be applying it towards dental school. Very good advice thank youu 💗
@@AshantiPhylice hopefully we run into each other it’s nice to meet new people and you seem like a great person ☺️ and thank you I really appreciate it 🩵🩵
I’m thinking about applying for a nursing program. Can I ask did you do your ASN or BSN? Or did you do LPN to RN program? Also did you work while in school? If not how did you support yourself financially? I hope it’s not too personal these are just all things I am slightly worried about. Thank you I’m advanced 😊 also great video and tips
Hey! Thank you for asking 🩷 I’m in an accelerated ASN program. As far as working and financials I’ve just mastered the art of balancing things behind the scenes😉
I’m sorry!! The start is usually tough as it’s a lot of information to memorize and apply. I read as much as I could that was relevant to my exams, did as many practice questions as possible (via homework assignments, chatGPT created questions, or the book), and tried to personalize the information. I often rewrote things in my own words when reading and reviewed that. I hope this helps and good luck 🩷
Hey!! I’m in fundamentals right now and here’s what I do. I try to read before class, if I can’t make it to it then I look over the PowerPoints. I go to class and I record the lecture. Then when I get home, I listen to the lecture again, open up my textbook and go through my PowerPoint and write down everything that is important/needed for the test. What I write down is what I study for the test. Say on Thursday we go over oxygenation, I do everything that I said up above and go over my notes. Practice questions as well, it doesn’t need to be a lot of but it will help with the critical thinking. On Friday we do pharm so I do everything up above as well but cater it to pharm but when I study those notes, I’ll add in the oxygenation notes from Thursday and do practice questions. Monday say we go over cognition, I do the same thing, go over my notes for cognition but also oxygenation, pharm, and cognition with the practice questions as well. Hopefully this helps!! If you have any questions feel free to ask
