I really needed this so glad I found this video today. I'm in my first semester of nursing school. Full time job, part time program & full time family. It's hard!
@@shardayharmon starting January I will be. I have looked high and low for full time RN student and working full time and couldn’t find any video until you. I work 3-11 at a hospital and they are giving me hell as it relates to accommodations for clinical so I am scared.
I hope everything works itself out. For me personally, I always felt on edge with my schedule and job security but I just kept going. I know you can do this as well 💕
New subscriber today! I’ve been working in healthcare now for 16 years. I am a licensed phlebotomist as well as instructor. I also am certified in cytology and histology. I started nursing school back in 2011 after my first child was born but never got to finish. Fast forward 12 years went by and here I am waiting on a decision if I’m accepted or not. Recently took the TEAS on Monday 3/6/23 and scored 90.7. So, I thought after two months of studying for that I would apply for school again. My life is a bit hectic now with 3 kids and a job also married. But, I think I can do it now and I am determined. After, watching your video, I was absolutely intrigued about your positivity and encouragement to other students and future students. I can go on and on! I just wanted to thank you for this video in particular. Thank you for your POSITIVITY 😊
This was beautiful. Thank you for sharing,. Also your experience with patient is going to help with stress when doing clinicals and working with real people/ skills, bedside manner, patient compassion, etc. As far as timing, it will never feel like the right time. I’ve learned that “balance” is really just doing the best you can and being intentional in your purpose, health, and relationships. It’s going to be hard but from the sound of it, you’re true to it, not new to it. You can do it. God has never forsaken us yet in all the trials we’ve been through thus far, and your career is no exception to that either. Sometimes you just have to leap. You will adjust, your schedule will adjust, your family will adjust. Buss it out and you’ll be on the other side. Much love and encouragement to you 🫶🏽❤️🙏🏽 rooting for you
This helped so much I'm a single mom. Got my CNA and phlebotomy. Same thing after I had my daughter I just stopped school and then I had my son and now I want to go back and I'm so scared with busy life and kids already ❤❤
New subscriber!! I just want to say that this video was so great! I am starting my second nursing program next week after failing out of my first one due to poor test taking skills and your video helped me so much! I made sure to take notes and can't wait to use these tips during my new semester! Thank you again!
New subscriber too! Thank you so much for your positive vibes, and wonderful advices especially for those of us who are both fulltime students and workers. This is my second attempt at nursing school, and im very oroud to say that i passed my first year with my second school after failing out from the first one. And you are absolutely right when you stated that each program is different. My new school focuses on the most important info and even does interactive activities during class so that we can better understand the material. And this is for my ASN through my community college. In contrast with my previous school, which was for the BSN, it was long lectures in which the teacher would read word for word from the pps, without using real life experiences/interactive activities so that the students can better understand the concepts. Needless to say even though i would've prefered to leave the previous school on better terms, i am very happy with my community college bc i dont feel lost anymore 😊.
@@shardayharmonhank you! And of course! Like you said in your nursing blues video, all of us nursing students need to have motivational videos so that we can keep going. And it's thanks to people like you who spend their time on making these type of videos so that we don't give up on ourselves, that helps us to thrive and succeed in nursing school. So thank you so much for your kind words, and I have started sharing your videos with my nursing friends at school 💕
Thank you so much for this I am a Highschool student who wants to get into nursing so I am trying to learn as much information as I can now and see how I can implement it into my current studying style. This was so very helpful 😌
Not necessarily. Focus on what is special for that drug and what could jeopardize your patients safety. Dry mouth isn’t as important as orthostatic hypotension or a drug causing thoughts of suicide. Make sure that you get a NCLEX practice book and go to that specific section for those meds. They’ll give you BIG clues on what’s actually important for those medication.
I don’t use it for everything only for the concepts that are hard for me to understand. I never use it as a stand alone study resource. Khan Academy is a good one too!! Especially for learning the RAAS system and fluid and electrolyte imbalances.

The first person to say they are working full time 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾.
