    I was there and this was my first indy event ever. This was honestly one of the coolest experiences of my life and I hope Indy comes back to Nashville. There were a lot of yellow flags but nothing beats seeing the cars come flying down the bridge. It never got old.

      @@Simon-gq8wn I’m still shocked that went his way. Kudos to Marcus & team for not giving up when anyone else would’ve written the race off. Kudos to Dallara for building a chassis that can go for a short-hop domestic flight and still be solid enough to win the race.

      It is a beautiful layout. 1st-yr street events always have their kinks (ie 2008 Singapore), they’ll work those out for the future. They’ve got to address pit lane layout & blending rules for sure, that just wasn’t fair. Overall, they’ve got something fantastic going on down there. I mean of course they do, it’s Nashville for crying out loud! 👍🎶😎

      You say a shame for Herta. I don’t think he should’ve been that close to the lead. Love the kid, but he should’ve restarted 15th, full stop. Being able to blend back in when the field is bunched under caution was a farce. In any other race he would’ve had to rejoin behind the other lead-lap cars. He’s certainly not the only one that benefited from it so I promise I’m not crapping on the kid. He is awesome, and the father/son dynamic really makes people cheer them on.

    Please Indycar move the restart line to the back straight. Being there I could see the potential this race has. Either work with the drivers to stop them brake checking in the restart or move it to a wider are like the back straight like I mentioned earlier.

      I agree 100% and was saying it during the race. I love the finish line being where it is. But the start/restart line should be the same place. Even moreso being that IndyCar used a "Restart Zone" where there is range given, they can literally define it as the length of the bridge. Then you dont have the problems like we did today. Really, take out the 2 pre start wrecks, today was a pretty fun and crazy race!

    i didn't know Indycars raced on Formula E tracks. All joking aside, this is a very weird layout especially with how narrow it gets in places, if they race here again, the restart line has to be moved to a different position. Mid Ohio shows that something like this can be done as the start/restart point is in a different position to the finish line there

    And just to clear things up, the first collision involving Will Power was not his fault, the second one however was. Watch them back and you can see the difference.

    Make the back section wider, change the restart location, change how tight the chicane is so it can actually be a passing op.

    • @CASEMSTR
      @CASEMSTR 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would even say just.. take the road there. I think the Chicane was put in for the pit lane. But there is a road there that just, goes straight. Would make the turn before the bridge a passing zone. Would just have to find a way to make the pit lane work without adding too much new pavement.

    Rookie fan here.
    When I saw Erricsson go airborne, I said, "What a dumbass. That dude can't drive."
    I didn't realize it was Ericsson at the time, who not long after that got the lead and held it. Man, was I ever wrong!
    He put on an absolute clinic to come back from THAT and beat the whiz kid, Herta, who had been running all weekend like a cat with its tail on fire.
    Well done!
    But lesson learned by me: Don't talk $#!t about these drivers, as they ALL are 100x better than me, and I don't know jack squat about the sport, apparently.
    Crazy event. I hope it's smoother next year, though, both in terms of road surface and FAR fewer yellows and reds.
    I just hope these drivers will eventually come closer to home, as a new 6-mile track is now being constructed about 15 miles from where I sit.

    Is gaining places under the safety car the new norm? Indycar, Formula E, maybe even F1 in Hungary with the formation lap.

    • @isadoofy3558
      @isadoofy3558 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      the guy who gained places in the F1 race had to give them back in the space of one lap (Russell I think was that guy, he went to P2 at pit exit and was P7 and the end of the lap)
      The guy who did that in the Formula E race was disqualified

    • @thechosenone45
      @thechosenone45 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@isadoofy3558 well, russel wasnt under a safety car, he simply overtook some cars in the pitlane waiting for the restart, which is a clearly illegal thing to do, I dont know why he did that. In all the other cases, during a safety car, if going into the pits could mean taking an advantage, usually the pit exit is closed and the cars have to wait until the safety car has passed before going back on the track (however, this is very unusual, you could see only in very specifical tracks, such as canada 2008). Formula e actually had a hole in the rulebook (which i hope its fixed by now), and if the guy that dived into the pits had stopped completely, he problably would have had the win.
