    Mclaughlin was brilliant. He got shuffled from 1st to 16th due to yellows with 20 laps to go and made it back to 2nd without punting anyone into a wall. Easily the fastest on track all day. This is his 2nd year of open wheel racing and he's schooling much more experienced drivers. Future champion for sure.

      Definitely was the best driver over the weekend. Pole position, easily up with the most passes, all of which were fantastic. His comments about street courses were interesting. He hasn't learnt all the kerbs on the circuts and doesn't have all the track knowledge, but knows how to put it close to a wall and hold it there. Amazing potential. Future champion? I'm sure.

      IndyCar is a 'spec' formula with only a choice of two engines and one chassis. This does result in close fields and close racing. I've followed Champcar and then IndyCar since the mid 1980s. I've been to five or six races in that time (based in Australia and then the UK). I've followed F1 since the early 1980s and been to around sixty five races all over the world (including 11 of the 17 races in 1995).

    I was initially a bit miffed with Josef Newgarden thinking he crashed out Romain Grosjean... Looking at the video 25:40 Romain turned into Josef after he was already ahead of him before the apex. It was an aggressive and legitimate pass.... Sorry for Romain who was having a great race but if you left room you would not have been in the wall. Keep in mind I took Romains side at Mid Ohio when Rossi plowed into him twice. Not this time it was a good pass and the wreck was avoidable by Grosjean. When you make contact you lose control and your car always goes wide no matter if you are the inside or outside car Josef's car would have made a very normal racing line had they not made contact.
    So what is the difference between this and the Rossi Grosjean crash... Rossi was behind went wide and Romain did not turn into Alex. Here Newgarden is ahead Romain turned into him and he didn't understeer into the former F1 driver. Romain closed the door way way too late. I know I will take heat from those who don't realize the contact caused both cars to run exceptionally wide, but slow motion video makes it obvious. Matter of fact Romain might cost Newgarden the championship as he should have finished 4th not 6th as contact with Grosjean let Herta and Rossi back by after one of the best restarts I can remember.

      @jamesbowman7963 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cereal-killer4455 Yes including the part where Josef Newgarden is completely alongside Grosjean 3 car lengths before the turn, that part might be important. Then I watched in slow-motion as Newgarden is inches away from the wall at the apex actually further ahead and Romain turns into him with two car widths on the outside, that also might matter. Again I even time stamped it to make it easy. Romain is reckless and doesn't use his mirrors well, he caused his fiery crash in F1 by swerving directly into the path of a car going way faster to avoid debris?
      Now if you only look at them after contact and we didn't have the before contact footage it certainly looked like Josef divebombed Romain and plowed him into the wall, but that video happens to far after they contacted to understand the cause. James Hinchcliffe's comments only add to that thought, but Townsend Bell was adamant that Josef was there and with the footage of them entering the corner and seeing Romain turn in on Josef it is obvious. Newgarden had a perfect line after a crazy good restart and got ran into by Grosjean. The video makes it obvious and I'm certain if anyone deserved a penalty (his race was ended) it was the #28 car not #2, who lost valuable championship points as Rossi and Herta got back by him and he was on such a run he might have caught Alex Palou over the next few laps.
      So why did so many people see it wrong in initially? Because the trajectory both cars were on was towards the outside wall and with only that late brief shot it almost looked like Newgarden T-boned Grosjean and ruined a great race for the Frenchman, it was a great race by him up until the collision. Not what happened though Josef's line was a perfect racing line and he was against the wall, the only one that could have avoided that was Grosjean period. FWIW when Rossi actually punted Romain at Mid-Ohio they too went flying off line when Rossi's hands got knocked off the wheel. In that case Romain left room and Rossi understeered into him and yet after contact same trajectory, the wheels straighten and momentum takes them outside. I took up for him and I much like Rossi as a driver but the facts are what matters. Romain caused his own crash and damaged Newgarden's championship fight it's on video.

      Because they were both side by side in the corner. Newgarden was even ahead. IndyCar had been consistent all year about that.

    Nashville is brief periods of racing between yellow flags. Two years in a row of trying to pretend this is racing. Dump this farce and move on, it's worse than Belle Isle , and didn't think that was possible.

    Ericsson went from p18 to p5, just to end up DNF cause of being forced out from a corner by Grosjean and then hit by Herta, just after Ericsson overtook them both.. To bad the Championship will be affected by revenge acts.

    What a clown show. Never seen so many bonehead moves. Indy car is becoming just like NASCRAP. A demolition derby. And my man, the JJ continues his stellar performances. Once again wrecking all by his lonesome. What a joke all so called professional racing has become.

    Easy to edit, just show race without commercials. A NASCAR style crash track, there has to be a better venue. When will Jimmy Johnson become embarrassed enough to retire, hopefully before he gets hurt.
