God, people seem to think there's only two types of movie: great and shitty. SPECTRE was good, not great, but an entertaining ride. My opinion, yes, but people need to be more positive sometimes.
The spectre rights were down to the fact that MCclorry wrote the screenplay for Thunderball and Fleming wrote the book based on the screenplay. As MCclory came up with the idea for Spectre he got the rights to not only Spectre but the Thunderball screenplay . He later did a deal with Sony Pictures where they remade Thunderball, but called it Never Say Never Again. Daniel Craig has recently said he actually spent most of the film with 2 broken ankles, which is why he later said he would rather cut his wrists than do another Bond film.

I love James Bond, been watching since I was 5 but spectre fell short. It felt very incomplete and the way he hooked up with the women didn't feel natural to James Bond. He literally saved that one chic pushed her against the mirror and undressed her. It was really weird and didn't feel right. I will be really surprised if it makes more than its budget. Even the bad guys went down easier than expected

'Spectre' was the cinematic equivalent of randomly chucking flour, eggs, butter and sugar into a cake tin and thinking that by simply sticking in an oven you'll somehow get a cake. A Bond movie should be greater than the sum of it's parts. Sadly, 'Spectre' didn't even make the most of it's parts. So the sum was always going to be defficient. The theme song encapsulates the film perfectly. All the musical signatures of Bond are there but just when you think it's going to deliver it puts a card through your door telling you you can collect your parcel at the nearest sorting office after 24 hours!
Really letdown by this flick. The opening is AWESOME but the rest felt like a waste, especially Christoph Waltz who was totally underused. And for as much as bringing back Spectre was hyped up, in the end their whole motivation in this movie was kinda pointless.

My favorite Spectre camera shot was of the hidden Octopus when James shot his gun at Blofeld behind the glass in the old MI6 building. The bullets carved out an octopus. It was cool.

I really like the new M in this movie, in a way he is more James Bond than Daniel Craig once he gets into action. Craig is fine as a secret agent, but I just think he lacks a certain charm to be James Bond. It's more like he could be 005 or such.

Where the scene takes place that Bond is planning to rescue Solitaire and take down Kananga's voodoo hideout. That reference is very cool and basically Daniel Craig looks cool with his black outfit like Roger Moore wears. Nice reference.

It was a shame that due to legal battles for many years, SPECTRE was kept out of Bond films since the early 1970s. Sure they reappeared in Never Say Never Again. But they were never used for the Bond films featuring Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan as Agent 007 himself. SPECTRE are to Bond what HYDRA is to MARVEL Comics. An evil criminal, subversive, terrorist, paramilitary cartel that became the arch villainy that made the Bond movies entertaining and suspenseful.
They did not do enough to get the most out of Christoph Waltz's potential in this movie. Maybe they didn't want a 'Dark Knight' or 'Inglourious Basterds'(the French farmer's youngest daughter from IB is the bond girl in this one, right?) situation on their hands, where a supporting actor became the bigger draw. Although, the fact that he was the only villain that was not killed (La Chiffre, Greene, White, Silva, all dead) might mean good things for the future of SPECTRE and Bond. I mean, he could have easily been blown up in the helicopter, right??
The copyright issue actually comes from the fact. That the production company asked Kevin Mcclory to right an original screen play for a Bond film (Thunderball). He wrote the script and came up with the idea of SPECTRE. Ian Flemming agreed to adapt the story line from the film into a book. But because it was Kevin Mcclory who came up with the idea for the Spectre organisation and not Flemming, the Mcclory family had the rights to it. He also had the rights to Thunderball and it is how their was a remake of Thunderball called "Never Say Never Again". Mcclory agreed to allow Sony the rights to remake thunderball and Because Mcclory had the rights, EON could not stop them. Red Nose Day and Comic relief are two different charity organisations. One is hosted by Terry Wogan (Children in Need) and Lenny Henry (Red Nose Day). Red Nose Day were the ones who did the James Bond Skit not Children in Need.
Well I'm afraid the DB10's gadgets were poorly made. A mini-gun with no ammunition. A switch that just turns on the radio. A flamethrower that barely does anything but set fire to metal (Occasionally) So the only useful gadget was the ejector seat. Which made an appearence seconds before the car drowns in the sewer (SPOILER)

No way is David Bautista's "Mr Hinx" (his character name isn't even referenced on screen - unless one looks at the end credits) is iconic as Harold Sakata's silently menacing "Oddjob" - the former has little time on screen. Monica Bellucci was 52 - Not 50 - either way she's still attractive nonetheless!.
For those who may not know the man that was tossing Sean Connery over the sofa is Peter Miavia he was a former pro wrestler and grandfather of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Miavia's role in "You Only Live Twice" was last time a pro wrestler was featured in a Bond film before Dave Bautista's role in "Spectre".
She said DB12 at 10:35 and only the car in the car in the movie can do 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and go over 200 mph. The real car takes 4.1 seconds and goes only 185 mph. Sorry, I'm a bit of a know-it-all about cars.

So much hype left me disappointed of the film.

What about the fact that Christoph Waltz was not the first choice to play Franz Oberhauser/Ernst Stavro Blofeld? They originally wanted Gary Oldman to play Blofeld, but he turned it down because he refused to commit to such a long shooting schedule.

actual #1: Radiohead had the spot for the title sequence and song this time. The producers however, like the posh sods they were, chose Sam Smith's song over it, and while it was a good song, listen to Radiohead's "Spectre" over the title sequence to the film, and you'll see what I mean.

Thunderball. It was NOT in the novels of Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Casino Royale, You Only Live Twice ... although it was in those movies. SMERSH was the big opposing organization in most of those novels. A Soviet org.

It was a shame that due to legal battles for many years, SPECTRE was kept out of Bond films since the early 1970s. Sure they reappeared in Never Say Never Again. But they were never used for the Bond films featuring Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan as Agent 007 himself. SPECTRE are to Bond what HYDRA is to MARVEL Comics. An evil criminal, subversive, terrorist, paramilitary cartel that became the arch villainy that made the Bond movies entertaining and suspenseful.

They did not do enough to get the most out of Christoph Waltz's potential in this movie. Maybe they didn't want a 'Dark Knight' or 'Inglourious Basterds'(the French farmer's youngest daughter from IB is the bond girl in this one, right?) situation on their hands, where a supporting actor became the bigger draw.
Although, the fact that he was the only villain that was not killed (La Chiffre, Greene, White, Silva, all dead) might mean good things for the future of SPECTRE and Bond. I mean, he could have easily been blown up in the helicopter, right??
The copyright issue actually comes from the fact. That the production company asked Kevin Mcclory to right an original screen play for a Bond film (Thunderball). He wrote the script and came up with the idea of SPECTRE. Ian Flemming agreed to adapt the story line from the film into a book. But because it was Kevin Mcclory who came up with the idea for the Spectre organisation and not Flemming, the Mcclory family had the rights to it. He also had the rights to Thunderball and it is how their was a remake of Thunderball called "Never Say Never Again". Mcclory agreed to allow Sony the rights to remake thunderball and Because Mcclory had the rights, EON could not stop them. Red Nose Day and Comic relief are two different charity organisations. One is hosted by Terry Wogan (Children in Need) and Lenny Henry (Red Nose Day). Red Nose Day were the ones who did the James Bond Skit not Children in Need.

Well I'm afraid the DB10's gadgets were poorly made. A mini-gun with no ammunition. A switch that just turns on the radio. A flamethrower that barely does anything but set fire to metal (Occasionally) So the only useful gadget was the ejector seat. Which made an appearence seconds before the car drowns in the sewer (SPOILER)
one wrestler tapped to fight Bond was renowned Hall of Fame American Samoan wrestler Peter Maivia, grandfather of former WWE wrestler now actor/producer Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, a contemporary of Dave Batista...

Nitpicky but, your voice over actress said "DB12" once. I'm looking forward to seeing what Aston Martin comes up with for the DB12, but Spectre's Aston was the one and only DB10.
No way is David Bautista's "Mr Hinx" (his character name isn't even referenced on screen - unless one looks at the end credits) is iconic as Harold Sakata's silently menacing "Oddjob" - the former has little time on screen.

For those who may not know the man that was tossing Sean Connery over the sofa is Peter Miavia he was a former pro wrestler and grandfather of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Miavia's role in "You Only Live Twice" was last time a pro wrestler was featured in a Bond film before Dave Bautista's role in "Spectre".
She said DB12 at 10:35 and only the car in the car in the movie can do 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and go over 200 mph. The real car takes 4.1 seconds and goes only 185 mph. Sorry, I'm a bit of a know-it-all about cars.

I wonder how many of these commentors have seen the original Bond films... and it baffles me that people say Skyfall was one of the best (or even good). If you haven't seen Spectre, watch it because it's good. Skyfall is the worst Bond film next to Quantum of Solace
