Its a good idea to upgrade brakes whenever you add horsepower to your vehicle, especially when your rotors are solid and from the 80s. On this episode we use W126 non V8 brake rotors from (1986-1991 gen2) which are 20mm Larger than the previous generation (1985-1979 gen1) but that does run into its own issues like trimming the dust shield, and potentially upsizing your wheels. The Calipers have to be exchanged with as well do to the thicker vented style rotor, if you do stick to 280mm rotors the calipers will be more available and a bit cheaper. or you can pick them up at your local junk yard for over 50% off and they're original OEM parts but might require a rebuild and resurfacing so the cost might be about the same.
