    Adding fusable stabilizer to the liner fabric is the key to stiffening the fabric.
    The bag is soooo cute!!!

    Have you tried doing the patches without interfacing? Is it possible to just pin them in place and stitch, or too wonky?

    Thanks for this super clear and fun tutorial! You definitely achieved that 90s crafty teacher vibe 🍓 I do have a question: why did you topstitch the straps before attaching them? It seems like you just sewed in the exact same place when attaching them so I don't really understand the necessity to topstitch first.

    • @HiSydGraham
      @HiSydGraham  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good question! If you skipped topstitching the middle of the straps and went straight for attaching them to the bag, you wouldn't be able to stitch past that unfolded edge near the top of the bag, without stitching the top of the bag open or closed. I hope that makes sense without visual aid! Basically you need to stop your stitch on the straps at the top of the the bag to maintain that unfolded edge that comes into play when you insert your lining. I opted not to topstitch the entire strap before attaching it because I felt it was unnecessary to stitch, as you said, in the same places twice. This way you only overlap your stitching by a 1/2" or so, to secure it.

    Is there a reason for making the bottom pieces rounded at the corners? Can I skip that portion or will it throw off the measurements?

    • @HiSydGraham
      @HiSydGraham  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I felt it was easier to attach the sides when the bottom was rounded, and since this tutorial was designed for beginners I wanted to make it as simple as possible! You can totally leave your corners pointed! You may have to adjust the dimensions of the bottom though.
