Take Me Higher is my personal Ultraman Opening song choice aside the primary Showa Ultraman.
DYK: the song itself was published under the Avex Trax Record Label, the melody itself was made from Dave Rodgers, the Godfather of Eurobeat in Japan(often credited to his real surname Gian Carlo Pasquini) and later made his own cover of Take Me Higher (in English, not a translation) afterwards. One of the performers of the song (V6) is also the main actor for Ultraman Tiga (Hiroshi Nagano).
Ultraman powered was originally created in America and they just decided to dub the show in Japan later on . The show before it(ultraman great) did the same thing but it was made in Australia instead.

as you mentioned during 7:46, Takamura's comeback song in Hajime no Ippo, well, IS Ultraseven's theme! Straight up, same song, he used an instrumental version tho!

As you could tell, the mainline openings ended around the 1 hour mark with Ultraman Decker, the latest series. After that, there's compilation series (Retusden, Chronicle), web series (Ultra Galaxy Fight, Netflix anime), English dubs, spin-offs (Andro Melos, Kids), and straight up rip-offs (that Thai one).
Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, as mentioned, was based on Denkou Chojin Gridman (aka Gridman the Hyper Agent), which has been getting animated sequels from Studio TRIGGER, with a new movie coming this March.
If you're interested in the mainline Ultra series, all 25 episodes of Ultraman Z (2020) are available with English subs on the official Ultraman TH-cam channel. It's a great show for fans and newcomers alike.
We'll have to check out the channel. I'm happy to see that Gridman is still a thing.
100% agree with you, for newcomers who want to get a gist about the Ultraman Universe, the Ultraman Z is possibly up there to check it out first, along with Ultraman Gaia.
It's a shame that the Ultraman Nexus show ended short all just bcoz it was aired in a kids timeslot when it was planned for teen and adult audiences. I think its the first ultraman show with a dark storyline and not for kids.
Its actually kid friendly aswell. Even with some murderer scene. Still they keep hidden the whole time.
@@geelangadipr223 i would say the show was to complicated as it contains theories, conspiracies, and plot twist which is so much different than previous ultraman series. It's to hard for kids to swallowed all of it.

41:30 There's usually a blue light on an Ultraman, it is called the Color Timer, which was partially an excuse to keep fighting scenes short but that is basically where the "3 minute" time limit for fights came from. You often see many anime or other TV shows that references 3 minute fight limit or "I will beat you in less than 3 minutes".
The Color Timer Blue light is an indicator of how much time an Ultraman can stay on the planet. This is because Ultramen are 'Beings of Light' and Earth's atmosphere lacks purity of energy for them to stay alive. The red indicates they are becoming weaker or have been heavily damaged, and/or are running out of time. The more time and energy they use up, or the more they get hurt, the faster the red light flashes and beeps.
This mechanic is done more to make the fights more intense and for the sake of the audience's enjoyment of the show.

4:30 in this series, the main character is Ray, half alien and half human who can control monsters. Monsters at the end of the opening is his monsters. Ultraman only appear in final episode
For context, the only guy who survived in space in Ultraman Neos opening, was Genki Kagura. He only survived because at the nick of time, the alien being Ultraman Neos saved his life by possessing him, and the two merged. That's how Genki Kagura became Ultraman Neos.
BTW my favourite opening is always Ultraman Tiga's Take Me Higher, and then Ultraman Nexus' Eiyuu.

actually if you are interested there is a reboot movie call "Shin Ultraman" by the same guys that made Shin Godzilla getting a US Release January 11. everything I've heard is that it is an amazing movie

The irony of you bringing up Godzilla throughout this, in fact, your not wrong. As the founder of Tsuburaya was Eiji Tsuburaya, the man who brought the og Big G to life with his effects direction. So in a sense his career branched from there, while also being keeping good relations with Toho. Which actually saw some of the Toho kaiju suits be repurposed for a few Showa era Ultra Kaiju, with Jirahs being stark example of this.

To explain the phenomenon of the cross eyed ultraman, those are eye holes, so the suit actors can see.
Tsuburaya can be slick when it comes to hiding eye holes but sometimes they lazy so they just put holes on the eyes

Ultraman was referenced a lot in other Japanese media like Dragon Ball and Pokémon also for Great and Powered they were filmed in other countries and dubbed for Japanese airing

I say yes, Ultraman is an amazing series and the one that made Tokusatsu/Toku shows into the hero styled stuff you see now. While Godzilla was the Forefather of toku, Ultraman is the Father of superhero toku.
Also for context, Ultraman is always about a giant of light/alien of light coming to alternate earths and such to help those in need. While they can be giant, there has been moments they need to fight on our level.
There's 3 Generations of Ultraman. The "First Generation", which is Ultraman to Ultraman 80. Ultra Q tho, is the prequel/start of the ultra series but revolves more around mysteries and monster sightings. Its kinda like The Twilight Zone in a sense before it evolves into the giants of light-esc heroes of the Ultraman you know now.
After The First Generation, we get the "Next Generation" which is from Ultraman Tiga to Ultraman Zero. And finally we have the "New Generation" which is Ginga to Decker and onward. These ones are fully about characters, their bonds with their Ultra's and more.

the reason some of them got pupil is because its the only hole the suit actor can see through otherwise they are blind because the eye is occupied by those LED plate. but even the latest ultraman has some sort of hole if you look closely like ultraman zero on that eye brow slit which has a bigger hole above the eye

Oh that thing at the beginning of the Ultra Q intro isn't just a Godzilla knockoff that's literally one of the Godzilla costumes borrowed and repurposed for the first episode because the series' creator was the director of special effects for the original Godzilla movies

Tiga is the Malaysian language meaning Three, Ultraman Tiga is also what raised the popularity of the Ultraman series until now.

I'm Thai. This song is sung by Chai Muangsing. He is a legendary luk thung singer (luk thung = Thai Folk Song) in Thailand, alias : the King of Luk Thung/Man City Lion.
and this movie, Hanuman vs. 7 Ultraman, is a co-creation between Thailand and Japan. (This movie has 2 versions. 1. Thai version (original) that puts Thai culture and has violent scenes. including nude scenes
2. Japanese version It has better content than the original version. ,Cut out the violent scenes)
And after that, Sompote Sand, CEO of Chaiyo Film Company (Thai company that co-produced this movie with Japan), he claimed ownership of the rights to Ultraman in the 90s after Noburu Tsurubaya former CEO of Tsuburaya Productions passed away (the company that created Ultraman (Noburu and Sompote they were friends because he was a former student Who came to study in Japan with Eiji Tsuburaya in 1964)) Well..... It's a long story.
Until Ultraman did not have a chance to appear in Steven Spielberg's "Ready Player One" in 2018 because of this case.
but that makes Ultraman fans in Thailand hate him Because he created a series with China "Project Ultraman" in 2007 without permission from Japan.
And to make matters worse, he sold the rights to Ultraman. which is not his for an animation company in China Until China put Ultraman in the Chinese animation movie "So Long Ultraman". In this movie, Ultraman becomes the main villain of the story.
and many of his evil deeds That destroyed the character of Ultraman, but fortunately, a lawsuit that spanned more than 20 years ended in 2019 and 1 year later, he died believing that himself was the owner of the Ultraman copyright. Most of Ultraman fans in Thailand are glad he died. i am one of them

Ultra galaxy fight is actually biggest crossover movie in ultraman series where the Absolutian want to conquer light planet where ultraman lives not just there bringing oversees ultraman from another country than Japan you guys can check it in Ultraman official TH-cam channel

My faves:
-Ultraman Ace. Easily the most underwhelming close combat fighter but he's the best when it comes to energy based attacks, he's nicknamed the "Guillotine Killer/Master" because he constantly cuts limbs off of enemies.
-Ultraman Tiga. Out of all the ultras, I think he's the most handsome one. He got a pretty face no? lol
-Ultraman Nexus. The helmet seems similar to a Samurai helmet, love how much more 'masculine' he looks. Since I'm a 'bigger' asian, he'd prob be the best one for me to cosplay, though Tiga is my favorite.
-Ultraman Mebius. This is the last season of ultraman that truly stuck to the original Ultraman universe, the Ultra Brothers, and overall a good show and good human team.

@@user-wx3ne7zj6v As insult I mean joke. We were gonna do the Kinnku Beam pose for the thumbnail since its a parody of the Ultra Beam. But we decided not to since we already did the pose jokingly wrong at the beginning of the video. I tend to do that a lot with Tokusatsu related reactions. Like when I did the Viewtiful Joe and Great Saiyaman pose while reacting to to Kamen Rider.

Tiga and Dyna are very famous here in the Philippines but Gaia is the best Ultraman for me specially his Supreme form.
Prevalent theory about this year's Ultraman series considering it's not going to be New Gen Gaia and that 2023 will mark Ginga's 10th anniversary.
