One of my favorite things about Lupinranger vs Patranger is that the opening is two seperate themes, one for each team, mashed together. Separately, Lupinranger's theme has a jazz angle to it while Patranger's theme is more electronic.

kinda sad that you guys didn't like some of my personal fav OP Theme, like Kyoryuger and Go Busters, because it tells the theme of the series really well. and yeah, LuPat is one of a kind, a squad againts another squad is really bold idea but they really pulled it off so good, you guys definitely should watch it. and Kyuuranger is basically Guardian of Galaxy of the Sentai universe xD while Gekiranger is basically Dragon Ball
But remember this is our first time listening to them. I don’t think we get the full feel of the songs or some of the meaning. So maybe with another listen we like them more!

There's a very good reason that the look similar, They send Power rangers the costumes for the show in addition to the footage. Though sometimes power rangers changes the costumes a little.

@@THEJVSHOW53 @Yousis Ayon The series had been going on since the 70s in japan, and Haim Saban traveled there during the late 80s thinking that there was money to be made in licenseing the series in the west so passed the idea around for a bit. Jetman was the first attempt to be brought over but they couldn't find a network that would take the show. It wasn't until Zyuranger that Fox agreed and became the first season of Power Rangers.
This gave them access to the costumes used in the series for the heroes and villains, and distribution rights. A fun and interesting bit of info is that since Super Sentai changes characters each season, and Saban didn't want to change the costumes, The Sentai series actually filmed additional episodes of Zyuranger just so that Power Rangers would have more footage to use with their show.
@@THEJVSHOW53 It's a long standing licensing agreement that has been quite profitable for both sides. Buying the footage and suits is cheaper than making a show from scratch, and the footage and suit sales are a large chunk of change the show would not otherwise be getting.

Actually the first part is incorrect the second part is correct, Power Rangers had the suits from super sentai and the suits actors but Power Rangers had to give the suits back that's why the suits in Power Rangers now are less shiny then the Super sentai, and all the fight scenes when they are morphed and the zords we're from super sentai footage and how I know this the actor who played the blue Ranger in timeforce said that the Japanese suit actor was shorter then him that's why when he morphed he will get shorter and Power Rangers was owned by Saban brands and then owned by Disney and then back to Saban brands then now Power Rangers is owned by Hasbro and Hasbro said they would stop using the footage from super sentai and make their own footage I am just a little bit of a weeb of Power Rangers that's why I know so much and here is proof th-cam.com/video/uo22qpPPWag/w-d-xo.html you just have to watch the whole video to know about the suit actor was shorter than him

For guys who were more familiar with the Power Rangers franchise, watching the ORIGINAL Super Sentai will twist up your normal Power Ranger beliefs especially with American mindset vs Asian Mindset and viewpoints so I can understand why u guys didn't like some of the opening since you were more accustomed to the US made versions. But keep in mind that what American kids are enjoying as Power Rangers will never be existing if it hadn't been for the Super Sentai franchise

As you already know Super Sentai predates power rangers, as evident with the amount of series in the franchise’s history, given that it’s the original, with it currently totaling at 45 series, with the still-airing Zenkaiger(not shown) which celebrates the franchise’s 45th anniversary.

You guys should try react to the kamen riders opening songs, they are the same company and brand with the super sentai, just that instead of the typical 5 man team, kamen rider or masked rider in English version mostly are one man army, you should definitely check that all, their costumes are very cool and very unique design, you guys won't regret it

When Saban used all of Zyuranger (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season 1) footage, Saban contacted Toei to create more footage for the American Power Rangers TV broadcast. At some point, Saban used Dairanger mecha/ robot footage so that Saban didn't have to keep editing out the battle footage between the Dinosaur megazord launching an attack and getting hit. Note that the two were never in the same shot (from what I heard) that's why Saban changed the dinosaur megazord to the Dairanger (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season 2) and Kakuranger (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season 3) battle footage. Once all of the footage was used up, Saban just went on the next season of Super Sentai Ohranger (Power Rangers Zeo) using their suits and mechas, continued using Japanese footage until it was time to end that particular Power Rangers season. Maybe someone in the comments can make a clearer statement of what im trying to say here XD.

To add to it, the reason they didn't change suits until Zeo/Ohranger was because they didn't want to try and explain why the rangers suddenly kept changing fighting styles.
There was a female red sentai ranger in shinkenger Kaoru Shiba she was the first ever female red ranger played by Runa Natsui. She was also the youngest red ranger at 14 .

What they do when they adapt a Super Sentai season into Power Rangers they change the story a little bit they take footage slice it up into some scenes like some fight scenes for example Power Rangers in space was based off MegaRanger that had nothing to do with space it was more of a video game season so it's crazy what they can do

Jetman is a pretty popular Sentai season. I recommend checking it out. Shout Factory even officially released a English subtitled DVD version not too long ago. I think it’s currently the first and only pre-MMPR season officially released in English.

That’s actually Ryusoulger, which is called Dino Fury in Power Rangers. That’s actually the current Power Rangers season at the moment. I think it’s gonna get more episodes on Netflix sometime soon.
I believe that “Strongest Battle” thingy is some form of crossover TV special/movie.
Power Rangers wouldnt exist without Stan Lee helping create Japanese Spider-man. Battle Fever was originally going to be an Avengers show, Marvel still partially owns it, Denziman, and Sun Vulcan.

Fun fact! Yknow how the titanium ranger appeared in lighspeed rescue? That was actually a power rangers exclusive ranger, so it didnt appear in GoGoFive.

@@THEJVSHOW53 that's why extra Rangers are mandatory. They had too many seasons with extra heroes joining the fight, and then go go five was... five Rangers start to finish. America got frustrated and added the Titanium Ranger to the American version so Toei agreed that every season from now on should have at least one special extra ranger shows up after the season starts.
A few random notes, since you asked; OhRanger(Zeo) very nearly ended the franchise, due to some very bad timing in the real world...and Carranger(Turbo) ended up saving it! GoRanger and J.A.K.Q. originally weren't even Super Sentai series at all, but were 'grandfathered' in some years later.... Dynaman received a 'gag dub' on the USA network, with 5 episodes getting a very tongue-in-cheek treatment. Kyoryuger(Dino Charge) actually got an official sequel mini-series, that was filmed and only aired in South Korea! ToQGer is the 1st and to date only Super Sentai series to win any kind of award.... The actress for one of the secondary characters in Ryusolger(Dino Fury) was suffering from a terminal illness even during filming of the series, passing away shortly after the series was completed, much to the dismay of the other cast members and her fans.

I find it funny that when they got to Go-Busters they get confused that it shows this first instead of later rangers, the thing is they actually come after Gokaigers (Super Mega Force) and they will show rangers that have not been seen in America yet

I'm pretty sure it's been said already, but the season after Lupinranger vs. Patranger isn't Super Sentai Battle of the Strongest, but it's Ryusoulger. The last one was Machine Sentai Kiramager.

Unlike Power Rangers, Sentai is not afraid to kill characters. There is one episode in Gaoranger where they kill 4 of the 6 rangers.
An Episode of Abaranger was aired as a show inside of the Power Rangers Universe, where in universe, they are a show based on Dino Thunder’s rangers.
There IS a Female Red Ranger in Shinkenger/Samurai. In fact most of Samurai’s story is ripped straight from Shinkenger.
Goseiger is based on Angels. But they couldn’t use that in the America for Obvious reason.
Gokaiger is one of the most universally praised Sentai, while it’s American Counterpart (Super Megaforce) is the worst. The American on frequently uses Sentai Suits without any explanation as to what they are or where they came from.

@@yunlien True, though that was mainly due to the toy sales and not the show itself. They had to change the dark tone of the show because it reminded viewers of the Tokyo subway terrorist attack and the Hanshin earthquake which took place that year. The first few episodes of Ohranger had a full scale invasion with buildings being destroyed and people attacked. However, the tonal shift resulted in a disjointed show and very low viewership ratings. To make up for it, they turned to the merchandising sales which is why the show had a TON of mecha. Ohranger was hugely successful thanks to the toys but the show itself was a failure.

Power Ranger is niche in Japan and Asia in general with only SPD and Magic Force become kinda big for a short time for where i live for example as they basically are Western only adaptation
Super Sentai on the other hand is the second biggest Tokusatsu series in Japan only under Kamen Rider as they are the original

Power rangers actually overtook super sentai in some of the South East Asian(SEA) countries when they are first introduced. Which is why the toys and airing of series are one year later than the west.
Kamen rider was also popular in south east Asia ( until they stopped airing English dub Kamen rider in Singapore in 2014, not sure for other SEA countries though)

Kamen Rider is an entirely different franchise by the same company. It's older than Super Sentai and came first.

My three favourites are Gokaiger (the 35th anniversary), Kyuranger and Lupinranger vs Patranger. Gokaiger is an anniversary season with the main team being pirates. Kyuranger has a team of 12 where the show starts when the villains have already won and the team is formed as the rebellion (like A New Hope). Lupinranger vs Patranger is basically a cops and robbers themed show which has a 3 way battle between the Police, thieves and the show's villain and the sixth ranger is really cool.
So the Kyuuranger (Space Sentai Nine-Rangers) teamed up with Lupinranger vs Patoranger. Where the Lupins teamed up with the Thieves from Kyuuranger and played a prank on the police and the rest of the Kyuus. Then had to save the world when shit hit the fan. It's a fun movie.

I think the word kyuu in kyuuranger refer to 球 (spherical or ball shaped object) rather than 九 (number 9) since total members of kyuurangers are 12.

Trusts me, after you guys watched Kyuranger, the only things that completely stucked on your head is the word *''Say The Docking''* over anything else because that words always appeared and being said so many times on every single episodes

I really just want to say this super sentai has a bit more story building than power rangers because after MMPR no PR series went over like 26 or 27 ep but super sentai shows go to 49 ep to give us a bit more story

Fun fact: Super Sentai theme in terms of storyline up until Hikari Sentai Maskman was mostly based of sci-fi storyline. Since Maskman, they branch off to more inspiration of storyline from magic, dinosaurs, animals and many more.
Some of these series has even female leaders(Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, Mirai Sentai Timeranger, Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger, and momentarily Samurai Sentai Shinkenger)

Generally, some of the most popular Super Sentai series in the fandom are:
- Liveman (1988): Three students were murdered by other students joining an evil science group. Friends of those students build on the technology the students were working to build their suits and weapons. After 30 episodes, two more rangers join to make five (like Ninja Storm).
- Jetman (1991): An air-based military force were creating a power source called "birdonic waves" that were released after an attack on a space ship that also resulted in the death of the red ranger's lover. The birdonic wave hit four civilians, locking the powers with them, and are recruited (some more willingly than others) to be become Jetman. The season plays like a soap opera, even with a love triangle with the red ranger (an airman), the white ranger (a debutante), and the black ranger (a rebel motorcycle rider/barfighter).
- Dairanger (1993): A kung-fu/Chinese mythical inspired series, five people with Qi energy are chosen to fight an ancient civilization hellbent on world domination 1000s of years after a war. There's a sixth ranger, Kou, a 9 year-old orphan who initially uses his powers to troll. That sixth ranger became the White Ranger in America, aka Tommy. The robos used in the show were used in MMPR season 2 as the Thunder Zords.
- Carranger (1996): It's an insane parody show that is off-the-walls goofy. Adapted into Power Rangers Turbo, Carranger is about a group of five auto mechanics using the power of traffic safety to protect the Earth from a gangster sending monsters to conquer/destroy in order to impress a sexy woman.
- Timeranger (2000): Pretty much the same plot from Time Force, with a group of four time cops going to the past to capture a gangster who escaped from them and team up with a rich guy who doesn't want the future his father laid out for him. It has some the cleanest suits, and solid story moments.
- Dekaranger (2004): Adapted as Power Rangers SPD, it's different from other season as it doesn't have as much as a main villain and does more if a police procedural of the villain of the week. Has really likable characters with interesting interactions.
- Shinkenger (2009): Power Rangers Samurai copied the scripts from the show, but the Japanese version is done way better. Five people in a long line of samurai warriors having to ward off demons while living and training together after leaving their lives to fulfill their duties.
- Gokaiger (2011): Unfortunately adapted into Power Rangers Super Megaforce, a battle of all past sentai rangers leaves them with their powers. The powers turned into keys, and five years after the battle, five pirates arrive on Earth searching for the "greatest treasure in the universe." The Gokaigers, with the powers of past rangers, fight off an empire trying to conquer Earth while searching for the treasure. Also, the sixth rangers is Sentai fanboy.

Strongest Battle opening is an anniversary special featuring a team composed of past sentai rangers from Gokaiger, ToQger, Kyuranger, Zyuohger and Ninninger. It wasnt in this video but it was on your list, so ignore that one. Also a reaction to that would be great.

14:30 Gosei Dairanger, probably the best Sentai series. Good story, great characters, awesome fight choreography (it feels like old school Hong Kong martial arts movie at the time) quite gritty, it has some blood but not excessive. And a lot of fanservice lol. The pink sentai is gorgeous, every '90 Asian kid had a crush on her.

The 1 year gap between Sentai and PR became larger which ended up skipping GoBuster & Toqger (one of my fave Sentai)
16:23 It was also more or less airing during the infamous tokyo subway sarin attacks, which forced massive rewrites and tone shifts.
Sentai at the time was already struggling and ohrangers lack of popularity (in part due to rewrites and inconsistent tone) almost killed the franchise...
Where it not for the following season almost single handedly saving it by basocally being a sentai parody, absolutely not taking itself seriously and just having mad fun (the soxt ranger figure in it is literally a magical girl... who changes actress between apearances, the characters in universe noticing that, as a meta joke towards some of the writers previous works)
Actually Super Sentai was the first to make the Power Rangers.
Video is kind of outdated by a year but the same TH-camr has updated the video (as a new video) to include the 2021 Super Sentai season Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger. Kind of wish this oudated one was unlisted.
So super sentai are subtlety connected. Each can stand alone but if you've watched them across the years they connecte to one another. Usually another ranger is an associate of another or they've heard of other teams

Power Ranger also got a Japanese Dub in Japan. Even some of original actor from their Sentai Counterpart doing the Japanese Dub. They got quite few population.

They live all same universe (mostly). They have movie between currennt sentai & previous one many time. In 35th Gokaiger they can change form and use all 34 senior power, Many of them appear in Gokaiger to give Gokaiger lesson and grant their ultimate power.
Both Carranger and Go-Onger were very silly (hence the cartoony rides you mentioned) and I like Carranger top 5 it’s legit funny. Almost parody. Ironic how Pr RPM was the darkest most mature series.

Zyuranger was the 1st Super Sentai series that got an US adaptation which is well known as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, I've heard that it was supposed to be Bioman then Jetman

Just a Small Correction, The last Two Openigs are Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger (43rd) and Mashin Sentai Kirameiger (44th) is the last one, currently airing is Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger which is the 45th Super Sentai which was missing on the video.
Ryusoulger has been addapted as PR Dyno Fury but Kirameiger does not have an addaptation yet and probably it would not be addapted since the toy line didn't sold what was expected.
Kudos for this Top 5, I also love when there are Rock themes on any series Openings like Dekaranger.

U loved the JetMan theme which is cool but fun fact it is one of the darkest Sentai of them all. Innocent ppl die, Corrupt Leaders. Playboys groping girls and baddies that turn the team against each other but sometimes they dont have to because there's already drama!

The villains of the Season Dino Thunder is adapted from call Our Heroes another Earth weirdos because they hail from Dino Earth and our version of Earth is called other Earth
BTW in some songs enemies disappeared and were revealed based on how things were going in the series. Like in Hurricanger (Ninja Storm) When the baddies got destroyed they vanished from the intro 1 by 1. The cute lil girls in the intro...not so innocent......

Go-Onger looks cartoony because it is a really silly season. The talking thinking vehicles are from a different dimension, from a robot filled world. It's pretty similar in concept to Abaranger.
And ToQger has a orange ranger because they use the Rainbow Line train, and they're 6 of the 7 colors of the rainbow. A purple ranger joined them in the special that came after the show ended.
Ryusoulger was the song that you thought was “Super Sentai Strongest Battle”…lol

Only the White Ranger and the Thunder Megazord and White Tiger were the only ones from Dai Ranger that were adopted in the U.S. also Dairanger is the 1st Super Sentai series that introduces a kid as a Ranger followed by Oh Ranger AKA Power Rangers Zeo. Additional information if in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Tommy Oliver's power as Green Ranger got vanished, in the original which is Zyuranger the Green Ranger there dies, the reason Tommy Oliver didn't die in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers aside from he's a fan favorite is Saban didn't get the footage of Green Ranger's death from the original version.

Kamen Rider been running since 1971 and it is the bigger cooler cousin of Super Sentai
Kamen Rider have a more loose concept of what make one a Kamen Rider so it could be more creative and carzy with what it want to do and with the character design, the main Rider could be pink, red, multi colour,.....and the show could either have 1 Rider or even as many as over 20
it is divided into 4 era that all have very different feel to them
first era is Showa being 1971 to 1998 which is alot more goofy and Super Sentai/Power Ranger ish (with exception of Kamen Rider Black and Black RX)
second era is phase 1 Heisei from 2000-2009 which is a very drama heavy and slow era but they are charming
then third era being phase 2 Heisei from 2010-2019 which become quite funky and upbeat but still very great story and some dark element from time to time
and finally the newest era the Reiwa era from 2020-present, it is still new so cannot much about it for now
The show sounds very interesting, I’m interested in actually watching the whole show now not just intros haha

They are the easiest to get into but if you want something with more drama try Kuuga or Ryuki

The masked men were the first Super Sentai where each member had their own vehicle but they weren't color coordinated also they transform using something called Aura power everyone has it you just have to train and master it that's the main theme of the show training evolving and getting stronger as a person geez you'd think it's Kamen Rider Kuga speaking of which the unidentified life forms are my favorite Rider villains
Lupin Rangers vs Patrol Rangers is the only super sentai I've watch...And I loved it. Both red rangers are good but the red patrol ranger is amazing.

Basically, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai(except Denziman and Sun vulcan, Sun Vulcan is sequel of Denziman. Their villain is Rita Repulsa actress, Machine Soga) have no continuity and most of them live in different universe and ignored others existence. Ultraman and Power Rangers have continuity but some season/series not in same universe

Super Sentai came first just so you know and Power Rangers seasons usually are one year after their Sentai counterparts but since Power Rangers has ended we will not be getting a Don Brothers adaptation no matter how much I want it seriously I would love to see Don momotaro rampaging in English but I don't know how they work around momotaro being a Japanese folk tale but it would be a way to explain all the peaches in the footage because momotaro was born inside of a peach the Super Why and the Super Readers version of the story would tell you that although they do call the oni an ogre but it's still something
