I brought a Jabba 7 or 8 years back for one of my sons. One of his arms operated his mouth opening. Pretty cool! I have many original figures from Jabbas sail barge including this torturing droid. I didn't know his name till your vid. Excellent work
Mine was sitting on the doorstep as I returned from my holiday. It's fantastic to finally have so many pieces for a comprehensive Jabbas's Palace diorama.
Hi BB another great episode 👍. By the way my dad was part of the construction crew that made the original jabbas palace and his throne/ base and Rankor pit., for the film. I also work on the films and worked on the last jedi.

ROTJ is my favourite SW film so I have to give due credit to the Hasbro team for the amazing support they have given the film as part of the anniversary. Jabba really is the icing on the cake. Brings back so many memories of that vintage Jabba (note for future Jabba releases: he should ALWAYS come with his dias (?) and SBC!) And like you, I had seen lots of early reviews that criticised the paint apps but I honestly think based on your review the new Jabba looks better! Hopefully finding some time to open my Jabba tonight!
My 2 arrived today Tim but not opened yet so it great to watch this as I’m out of action in bed at the mo having just had a hip replacement so at least this will wet my appetite till i hopefully open tomorrow 👌 I got the 2 this time as I want one to display in the Boba Throne Room Set I got last year
I think the set looks solid. Great review. Your point on the paint in his mouth is a really good one. At this stage though, I am not going to replace my old one. I hope they fill out the Cantina with new characters, not just new sculpts of old characters.
Great review as always Tim. I had to cancel my order because later on I found it was too expensive in EU (110 Eur). I guess I am happy with my decision. Figures have little to no articulation, poor paint job ( Of course I am not expecting too crazy things just not something we see nowadays in TVC. But I am happy for people who were seeking them in a more acceptable price. Have a nice day
The sail barge came out before I started collecting, it's out of reach for me. I didn't buy the Boba Fett Palace, but I love my new Jabba. So I will definitely be buying the palace and the trophy room as soon as I'm able.
I’m pretty happy with this set, now I can finally open the BOBF throne room 😂 The chin stains don’t look too bad in mine either, some of the photos online worried me, but think I’llbe happy as mine is. 8D8 is fine, needed elbows, but fine. Love the cute little Salacious cardback, going to be hard to take him off the card 😂
@@Rob-McAlthough, the Jabba's throne room was on sale in July or June for $168 from the original price of $225. You just never know if items will go on sale or not.
Great video. The vintage Jabba is the same mold as the Jabba from the Rancor Pit, which in turn is the same one they used for the Jabba from the barge. The difference between these three is the decoration of the face, especially that of the eyes. This one takes the gold for the best face painting because they did improve it. The second place is held by the Rancor Pit, it is the one I have and it seems to me that it has better painted eyes than the one on the barge. I also have the Jabba of the throne from 2010 but I don't like it so much, I feel that it is not the right scale and I think that certainly the face is not so faithful to the film. This one is worth it for the throne, but above all for Oola. On my shelf I have the Jabba from the 2015 Rancor Pit mounted on the 2010 throne. Greetings from Mexico
I honestly prefer the POTF version. I got the jabba set from 2010. I'm pretty happy with it and everything I got. I'm just glad that everyone had a second chance at getting a jabba. He really is a necessity. Now if only Disney can take the stick out of their butt's and give us a new Oola and hut slayer Leia. Thanks tim for another great review 👏 👍
I just opened mine tonight (and then fired up YT and lo and behold your review is up - great timing! 😁), and mine doesn’t seem to have that “bullseye” paint job on the stomach like yours. Maybe it was being accentuated in your review due to lightning. On my shelf under normal lighting it looks awesome. Great review and comparisons!
A pretty good Jabba, but oddly small. I have my 2010 on display instead. Great extra figures and accesories, and the dias is great :) Thanks for your review!
Yeah some people say it’s small but looking at source material I think it’s just fine. I’m one of the people that prefer this Jabba to the 2010 version as I’ve never liked the neck line on that one.
Me neither! I even bought two of these sets so I can specifically keep Crumb and 8D8 carded and I still can’t open either of them. Getting unpunched perfectly mint cards is super rare I find it difficult to open them. 🤷🏻♂️
I've been looking forward to this.... Wonder if anyone has yet taken the taun taun head and whatever that other head is, off the 2018 playset, and put them on the BOBF throne, so it's screen accurate to ROTJ. I actually used my BOBF throne for BOBF, as I have the 2012 throne and 2018 back wall together and they fit perfectly in my display cabinet. I got 2 of these new ones, one to keep mint, one for the figures to remain carded.
Loved the carded figures, however, I still think the Vintage version is to small. Paint applications are great but I think the original one is the best one yet. Having said that, I did get 2 of these so that puts my Jabba count including originals up to 10, so I can use any version. The original is a bit of a tight fit on the throne but it looks great. I got 3 of the palace sets, 2 Jabba's and 2 barges. I like having lots of versions to do lots of scenes. My palace set up has double the little goodies, pillows and furs so my throne is packed with pillows, cups, and things. Much like how I will be able to do the same with the cantina when the 3 of those arrive.
@BossksBounty I've definitely noticed that as far as scale, yes, he's accurate. However, in commanding attention in the scene is what any Hutt does, that being said, the Original 1983 Jabba does exactly that. I do, as I said before, have 13 Jabba's because in my opinion the more of anything the better. I just purchased the Wal-Mart exclusive Jabba's throne room playset so I can have the articulated Oola so I will now have 14 Jabba's and I believe 9 thrones. Try putting your Original Jabba in there just to see what I mean, he just looks better, in my opinion. ⁸Love your videos, especially on things I've had to put straight into, what I like to refer to as my area 51 of storage, like at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
