    Flocking yourself is a great way to save money instead of going out and having others flock you.

    Bit of an odd question, but would you imagine that this same technique would be able to be used to cover a roof lining? The fabric of my roof lining is sagging and pulling away from the roof mould, and I thought maybe flocking it would be a more permanent alternative to having the fabric reapplied

    • @Calebjir
      @Calebjir 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d definitely recommend replacing the fabric if done properly it will last ages, flocking really works best on hard plastics.

    For some reason I thought flocking used a system to charge the particles so the stood up when they hit the surface you are flocking. I think Maybe it was Edd China that did it that way

    • @ZingTowPootWerkins
      @ZingTowPootWerkins 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      sinformant yeah there's a few ways to static charge the project so they stand on end, but its good to see how the finish is without the charge, as the companies make out like its a total bust without charging it...

    • @Crushonius
      @Crushonius 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well it actually is a bust like you see here in the video if the particles dont stand up so to speak they dont swallow the light . you see how its all shiny and reflecting the sun thats why you need a negative charge .

      Afaik, the two common materials are rayon and nylon. Rayon being more for things like the inside of the jewelry box and the latter being fairly durable. Supposedly, the nylon fibers are fade and weather resistant, hey hey!

    @JimTMcDaniels1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks guys for the video
    I wish you would discuss the pros and cons vrs other dash covers.
    Looking at this flocking, I like that you don't have to stretch a material over the dash but I don't like the powder mess but I don't like that there's no foam sheet under it (which can hide imperfections, make a real difference if your head hits it in an accident-federal law requires/ed it, and gives a nice feel) and the flock in jewelry boxes seems to hold up terribly and not easy to clean.
    So it seems to me this isn't near as good as covering the dash with foam and then a stretch with heat gun and contact glue vinyl....like our car makers do..
    So thanks for the video but on a dash, what the flock!? LMAO

    Is there a noticeable difference in finish between using this DIY pump and a professional powdercoat-like approach with electrostatic charge? The common opinion is that the DIY kit is only good for small parts. I wonder if it's because electrostatic makes it easier and less messy or it actually changes the structure.
