This string quartet contains some truly wonderful and inspired music. Great work by a rather underrated master.
such a beautiful piece. cherubini deserves more
Non riesco a capire il perche' nelle stagioni di musica da camera almeno in Toscana non si eseguono i meravigliosi 6 quartetti che rappresentano il compimento di una storia musicale straordinaria nel panorama della musica europea dell'800.
This music is amazing. In our minds is Cherubini associated with the Minuett and with baroque music. Completely false. This music as not less great than Beethovens, Mozarts or Schuberts - great classical music with a lot of innovative elements, inspired harmonies and melodies and a lot of passion. Incredible and thanks for uploading that!
"Minuett and Baroque"? That's probably Boccherini, not Cherubini. ;)
@@SPscorevideos :-D yes you are right... Who had yesterday birthday? Boccherini! and he wrote also a lot of quartets, that's why I confused them. sorry! Do you have also some Boccherini quartets?
@@arsaugusta Well, I never planned, bu tI just noticed that almost none of Boccherini's quartet have a score video... and they're a lot! So, surely some of them will be online in April. :)
Thanks for some lovely music to brighten my sucky day!
Been thinking about listening through the Cherubini quartets; I guess this means I'm doing one daily :P
The first two movements are great, of course, but the last two are pretty fantastic!
The pure essence of the Italian soul ❤️
@@luisrocle9087 Really, Luis? How so? I think Cherubini was mostly centered in Paris and I find these quartets to be heavily based on the Viennese model.
@@joshsussman9432 As you can see that you do not have a good ear.
I just imagined a funny French version of Chopin
@@luisrocle9087 Both Cherubini and Chopin were "culturally half-French" (and they're currently buried in Paris).
This is my first time listening to a Cherubini quartet. At least in the first movement i sense some similarities to Haydn.
I've heard of the Cherubini string quartets but wasn't familiar with any of them . This is a really good piece , and if disproves the claims about him being a dry, pedantic composer .
Upload other quartets.
All six Cherubini's Quartets are already scheduled, the 2nd coming in less than an hour. :)
Sounds almost like proto-Mendelssohn.
😅😅😅😅😅
Big Mendelssohn mood here.

I can't decide if and where to put ads, it's an automated TH-cam thing. :(
