MoeGameZzz For me it was the opposite... After the review I thought the styling is just awful. Great engine of course but it fails in the looks department...
@S Schroeder: Let’s not forget the Supra is 20% cheaper than the BMW on which it’s based, the engine might have a lower output in the Supra model but the 0-100 time sings a different tune. I’d be a fool to compare driving and handling characteristics having not driven either of these cars myself, however, based on the general consensus from all the different reviews I’ve been watching, Toyota has paid very careful attention to the fine tuning of the Supra and it would seem it’s more dialled in than the Z4. As for the looks, well that’s purely subjective, I personally like some aspects of the Z4’s design, there’s a few angles where it seems to go a bit wrong. (However, everyone has their own taste) I personally think the new Supra is simply gorgeous, there’s very little that I’d change with its design, they’ve knocked it out of the park. I personally think the Z4 could use a tweak here or there, it’s not 100% but then again few cars are... Between the two the Supra is the obvious choice for people with any sense, it’s cheaper, more dialled in, comes with a Toyota warranty, has a comparatively more sought after nameplate (The ‘Supra’ part, not so much the ‘Toyota’ part), and lastly in my opinion (subjective) it’s much better looking. Due to its nameplate and depending on how many they finally produce it’ll probably hold its value better than the Z4. I personally wouldn’t pay the BMW premium over the Supra to have the Z4, the Z4 is much less desirable to me personally than the Supra. Having said that, these two cars are targeting two very different markets, I personally wouldn’t say they directly compete against each other, you either want a Supra or you want a Z4, they’re for different types of people. Anyways, I’ve babbled on longer than needed, good fuel for discussion, cheers mate.
