@@infernojones1758 People were non stop ganking other people. And I mean LITERALLY. There were raids of players waiting for you at the entrance of each high level dungeons so if that raid wasn't of your faction you couldn't do dungeons without multiple ghost runs. This led to many people to not bother to do dungeons anymore and they just stopped playing the game all together.
Another issue is that Horde usually dominated world pvp which made the game unbearable as an alliance player. They were even killing people in ironforge and you could see many skeletons littering the ground of IF. Because of that, many alliance players transferred over or quit the game all together. You can still see the effects of it today, servers like Skeram and Stalagg are over 95% Horde.
Funnily enough now no one is using the 'it killed world pvp" argument against BGs and flying mounts.

@@TheAzozoi I was alliance on skerum before phase 2 and the server was around 80 to 90% horde then. Once phase two dropped it was almost impossible to get anything done without getting ganked.
Phase 2 was the golden age for classic wow. Me and my friend stop playing wow after phase 2. We both were not interested into bg's at all . If we want bg's we could just play private tbc servers or retail wow for that. World pvp in phase 2 was the best time for me in classic wow. Bg's ruined and killed world pvp same in tbc + flying mounts.

I remember being lvl 58 when phase 2 came out. All i wanted to do was my Ony and MC atunements in BRD . . . . it took me 2 weeks of Ghost Walking into BRD to even get my level 59. Another 2 weeks if not more to reach 60..... Being a WoW Classic new player i had no idea at all of what was going on beside being a ghost....
There was literally a train of ghost players walking from Thorium point to BRD.... Good times.... All my friends left WoW at this exact moment lol..

Pvp beef rivalries are amazing tho. once had a 10 level beef over 2-3 zones from mid 30s to late 40s, we kept running into each other. I think Zoille was the ne druid's name. Started with is ganking each other, then like 4 levels into it, and like 3-5 days, we would yell at the other, let the other finish their mob and have a proper fight. And that druid was my rival all the way to 60, stopped running into them as much from 50-60, but when we ran into it each other for the first time in a while for at 60, ooooh we went at it
Yeah I had the same thing except he just killed me over and over again because he was a rogue that could stun me until I was dead
The good thing about Vanilla is that you don't have to do all the worthless quests, just find a good spot with good drops (gold value drops) and grind until you out level the mobs.

Back in burning our guild leader was being camped and at this time I was a pvp feral druid. I bought a hunter hired a rogue and took on 3 other feral druids. And we camped the area for 5 hours

Ive been playing wow on and off for about 7 years and all i ever did were BGs, maybe few dungeons here and there but mostly only battlegrounds. I would just sit there all day and queue for bgs cuz i love them.
I like how the majority of Tip #3 is completely destroyed by the Spy addon.
Easy solution:make a guild of rouges and have a charge fee and just fallow the customer in stealth as a body gauged and anti gank when they get engaged,just charge more for higher levels and do it in pairs of 2 rouges 1 customer
In guild of rogues all the rogues gets a new talent. Its in the they're gonna fucking die tree, right next to I'm a fucking rogue bitch talent. Its called Spawn all the homies. Once activated you will spawn your entire guild inside of whatever zone your in under 5 minuets. Super op. Super good talent.

except that was altered in MoP, and is the current one. it teleports you to a graveyard or just hearths

I’d grind up a second character and whenever I was going into a pvp zone with my leveling character I’d switch characters to my 60 and run all the way to the area with the 60. So in case I was getting ganked by a 54 rouge I’d switch characters as he watched my body and fuck him up.
The problem is, my Draenei Retri Paladin is my first character in years, I'm trying to get him to lvl80 so I can punish gankers, but instead I'm getting ganked all the time, making questing really hard.

You underestimate how long people will grief another person, especially with how many people have secondary accounts, so that they can monitor the location of the player they're looking for
I played a 2D MMO called Tibia where you had a spell which let you reveal a location of any player on the server, there were dominating guilds with bunch of BR's and Poles that would literally follow you for HOURS if you got on their guild black list, if they didn't then they would check on your location at least every 10 minutes so you wouldn't be able to level at all, I hope Shazzrah not gonna have too many shitheads like this.

Warmod is kinda stupid in my opinion. Because you het more rewards for quest that you could finish in 10 minutes normally. And make 4 of those for more reward. And instead you take 40 if you get gank. Don't get me wrong if you don't engaje in pvp you get more rewards but honestly I enter in warmod when I want to see the world burn.
Asmongold's streams are perfect streams to see mob mentality in action. Once one person cluelessly types "???????", because the topic is completely foreign to them, 30 other people follow along. I just don't understand the point of posting "????????" or "TRUE" or "FAKE NEWS" or "AYAYA" or "THICC" or "SKIP" or "VIDEO IS BORING" (despite Asmongold laughing his ass off).
It's not an exclusive thing to Asmongold's chat, nor is it exclusive to Twitch, but it is definitely more apparent on live streaming services, because people have to actually put a bit more thought into TH-cam comments and lets also not forget that a good majority of twitch viewers will want to be noticed by the Streamer, so they post stupid stuff to get attention, heck, I am guilty of much the same thing when I was 12. It's still annoying though.
I was in WSG in vanilla for like 3 hours once and the flag carrier wouldnt cap so i had to just leave.

The issue with not having BGs, anyone who didn;t get 60 before Phase 2 will be killed and camped like crazy in every zone and they will quit the game. I will be 60 before phase 2 and enjoy the hell out of it, but no BGs would be the death of classic as people will quit due to several world pvp, people enjoy world pvp but being killed every 10 minutes by higher levels is not ideal for the health of the game, people need to not be ignorant of this fact. Now the phase 2 world pvp will be amazing, i mean truly amazing, if you're already 60.
We want classic to be an amazing experience and set a precedent for all future games.

Some Warlock killed my Druid while I was questing near blackrock mountain back in WOTLK so I got my warrior main. I killed him and kept camping him until he logged out. I didn't plan on using my warrior for a while so I decided to log out by his corpse and keep checking on him. 2 weeks later, his body was still there. Think before you gank. I might be putting your main out of commission PERMANENTLY! XD

What you do for pvp in phase 2 on a pve server? :S
To me BG's are the best part of WoW, i cant believe Blizzard pushed Arena as the WoW Esport when really BG's were the way to go, Arena's are boring too watch hard to follow, the nuances are just not picked up on screen (use of CDs, preusing skills) , where as BG's you could watch from different players views/angles etc and you understand he's got the flag he trying to score a 'touchdown'. Didnt the dev's try watching Arena then try watching BG's cos im a huge wow fan 500 days /played and i find Arena boring as hell to watch, i always felt Arena was doomed from the start, i mean some matches are boring playing them let alone watching, with BG's you can pick which skirmishes to watch, can flick between Flagrooms when its close it would be a far more exciting to watch than Arena and waiting for dampening. Would be bigger teams, substitutes, coachs etc the whole WoW Esports scene would be bigger, then we have some proper BG's like AV with Raid Bosses you have to fight your way too, then the pro Raiders and PVE'rs start looking at making the switch to PVP, you have to fight in a BG, then compete in a challenge mode fastest wins, then the winner fights a pvp and boss encounter could be huge, way bigger than Arena, Arena was dead before it started due to being zero fun to watch. Imagine a mixture of Method Raiders and PvPers all joining together for some 25 v 25 Epic battle grounds, you might have a 5man grp starting the dungeon to get the key while groups of pvpers go off to gank and take points, which ever 5 man gets the key 1st (fastest) goes to the boss and has to fight their way in 25v25 to get to the Boss, the possibilities are endless, and you get to see like a challenge mode comp, a big PVP raid with the best players communicating rogues trying to gank healers etc etc. also should be able to use pots,engineering, all proffs etc etc, i wanna see 200 IQ plays with resist pots, free action etc etc, i wanna see trinket swapping, gear swapping. clever use of mechanics, i want to see the best players have the most amount of room for 'clever' plays something retail just doesnt do anymore. Blizzard have a huge chance here, and with these 4 words my mantra for life..... Don't Fuck It Up.

Getting a few kills is fine, competing for resources okay, but to hunt people down for over an hour... It's such toxic behaviour. I told many people including my friends that playing on a pve server was the way to go... did people listen... did asmon listen.... no. So i sucked it up and rolled on a pvp server with my friends anyway. Ended up getting killed 6 times on your way into BRD as a prot warrior in blues by 5 people in epics and pvp specs every single time... the classic wow world pvp experience.
I fucking told you all so.

I once camped a hunter for 2 hours in cata. Dude tried logging off for 30 minutes a few times. Best story though is a guild buddy said someone camped him while leveling. I camped that guy, and his wife apparently. They logged onto alliance to tell my friend I'm a jerk. They server transferred both characters. I never forgot them.

BGs suck one thing I wish never entered the game. I find it odd that people who choose to play on a pvp server complain about getting ganked etc. when they can easily be on a pve server. It would have been nice if Blizz only put BGs in PvE servers, since I don't think they are needed on PvP servers. Nothing wrong with giving us options.
