I owned several 370z cars, one of which was the NISMO version. They are an absolute blast to drive except on the interstate which is just so generic. Get on to the two lane rural roads and the car really shines. My biggest regret is selling my last one, a 2020 tech model before the coronavirus hit. I now have a 2010 GT-R which is more fun to drive but I worry about the 12 year old electronics, gearbox, etc. I think the 370z is 2/3 the fun of a GT-R at half the price.

I really wish I didn’t get rid of my 2012 nismo 370z that was the best nismo variant imo. I wish it had the interior of the 2017 nismo though with the seats and Navi system. And I love the 2013 nismo five spoke dark rays rims

GTR weighs 1800 kg way to heavy and too many electronics. At least the 370 has an hydraulic steering system. If i want awd i can get an Audi TTRS or TTS and remap that

The car's design was a tremendous improvement over the previous 350z. To this very day, I still get compliments at least once a day and are always surprised that the car is 12 years old - It's a timeless design. For me in terms of power, it's enough to zip through traffic and I have no desire to go down the rabbit hole of engine mods.

Disagree. My 18 yr old 350z still looks fantastic (I think the best looking of all the Z's) and drives fantastic, better front suspension, more than enough power from the Rev Up and my few mods.

I bought a 2019 370Z 6MT sport coupe new and put stiffer Hotchkis ant-roll bars, braided stainless steel brake lines, a Stillen Gen 3 long tube cold air intake, a Fast Intentions x-pipe cat back exhaust and an EcuTek dyno tune. The engine is producing about 46(~378 crank) more peak horsepower with about a 15% increase in torque over the whole rev range. The OEM Bridgestone Potenza tires have been upgraded to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for better grip and longer tread life.
The car is lots of fun to drive and allows me to practice my driving skills in a fun way. It is totally reliable and functions well as my daily driver. Performance wise, I would consider it close to a Porsche 911 Carrera S but at a much lower price. Future plans for the car include lowering total body weight by about 200 lbs and reducing the unsprung weight.

I have a 16 sport tech. These cars are cool, decent performance with reliability. The engine tech is still quite advanced: vvel, variable cam, dual intake, 7speed paddle shift trans, rigid block with girdle, 7500 rpm redline in a large displacement v6, bullet proof. The German cars are more sophisticated, yet bad reliability and ridiculous prices and cost of ownership. 370z is awesome. Not to mention sport package brake setup is impressive given the cost to get into one of these

I have owned a 2013 370Z sport tech touring for 3 years and have driven 55,000 miles in that time. Having taken it on long trips weekend trips with my wife this car shines on the highway. Cruising at the British ton all day long in no problem. Have driven on Blue Ridge Parkway, taken to Niagara Falls, Gatlinburg, Memphis and Crater of Diamonds was longest trip. Have 2020 Mustang GT and thought it’s faster the Z is the one to drive the fastest.

Had my 67plate Nismo for 3 years and it's my pride and joy. Very analogue and rewarding. Key word for this car is balance every aspect of the car is based around balance. It's not too fast, it's not too light, the steering isn't too heavy it all just bang on the mark for what a sports car/GT owner wants. Great handling, good speed and good looks.

Just to add to this to help anyone.
I had one OY13DZN for a year or so when living costs didn't matter before the real world set in with me moving out!
My personal guide is based on a GT edition SIV I believe they were called with some slight facelifts that wouldn't be visible to the normal eye? (Correct me if wrong)
Car was a real cruiser at high speeds and felt like a GT but capable In the Twisties to
The engine was amazing. I bought one on low mileage around 26k before lockdown with minimal use and the independent dealership changed the slave cylinder after a week or so which went.
I added a Nimso exhaust in time and serviced at main dealer which was cheap as it's a Nissan.
No issues, great engine and sound and unique and old school feel. These cars are rocketing in price probably due to the lack of the new Z coming to the UK. It shames a lot of other cars with higher 0-60s etc whilst their auto boxes work out what gear to get into 😂😉... I had the manual.
MPG is actually good on a run and when driven normally, expect early 20s to early 30s depending on driving style and traffic... it's very torquey so requires minimal effort when driving casually.. I put Federal tyres on twice during Ownership and doing high mileage, I cannot remember which model of tyre I got.
The car sticks to the road amazingly, it's a hidden gym, don't hesitate to get one for low running cost performance if you want a purist experience. I didn't have to do anything to the car except the standard changes expected, sound system is amazing, heated seats are good and the sat nav says if theirs a speed camera (outdated for newer cameras unless you update it) but handy and a cool feature.
Any questions feel free to ask.

Great review, your words exactly describes the 370z. Hahaha a person who owns it is me a 54 year old female, always enjoyed driving a car that is enjoyable to drive - owning a Nissan R32 before I had kids and back in the day - that thing flew! I loved that car and the driving experience of that model.I feel in love with Nissan after that. Went through the mum taxi 7 seater kid stage and as soon as the kids left home, the 7 seater was gone and I went and got my 370z and have nit regretted it and each day I get in it I have a smile on my face. I’m someone who appreciates Japanese cars, you get a driving experience without the cost and I respect what these car makers do, they have produced some really incredible cars over the years. I love the look of the 370z, you can enjoy the experience of a sports car without the price tag and looking like a wanker. I love driving a car that is responsive, handles well and at the end of the day how much speed do you really need? Even though, my 2009 still leaves most for dust. This car is FAST enough and would surprise these who have not driven one before.

i have the auto...Relaxing drive and no sore left foot. Im 6'2 and can stretch my left leg straight on a long drive....i had 3 zeds that were manual and really good to drive. I like not having to shift after 10 years. Very annoying in the city and on traffic

I've driven both quite a lot recently so good question! Overall I'd say yes, they are really different types of car but I'd say you'll feel the Z is a bit more special, a bit more committed to being an out and out sports car. Maybe not quite as sharp as the FN2 and a bit more of a GT personality. Let me know if you like it!
