    I really appreciate that you do not just give people a list of important cards but also explain why and give us some insight into the gameplay with those cards. This really helps. Thanks.

    Whatcha guys think about the Godo primer not playing Ragavan?
    I know the reasons, Godo has to have its mana pre combat and Rag doesn’t help us much to win super fast and it’s not great unless we have it in an opener and it requires exactly red mana to cast.. so on.
    But, idk man., I have it in my Godo list and along w the addition of some of the other new creatures it let me slot infernal plunge back in and Ragavan triggers Birgi and, honestly, how often is Godo depending on being the fastest deck in the pod these days anyway? I have held a lot of unpopular opinions about Godo in the past but I see some of them are now ran in the primer list; Goblin Matron, Sculpting Steel, and ruby medallion for instance (I’ve never not ran all of those cards).
    I think it might be one of these things where it just seems SUPER OBVIOUS from the outside at a nieve first glance… then people more knowledgeable find all the, very legitimate reasons that it’s not as good as it might seem at a niave first glance.. and it’s really NOT as good as it seems at a first glance and there really are some legit reasons to not play it.. but on balance, in the end, it actually prob deserves some consideration???
    Sometimes the obvious thing (Ragavan should be in Godo) can end up both being not as good as it seems and yet still very much worth running.
    That’s my stance anyway. Ragavan is flipping busted. It’s a super over powered magic card and Godo is a mono red deck and I think the burden of proof is on the people arguing against its inclusion in Godo.
    Thoughts from the hosts or the peanut gallery?

    48:00 you said you cant run duplicates of lands, including basics? Did u misspeak ?

    • @LemorasCards
      @LemorasCards  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was in reference to the card Tainted Pact, which is a major combo piece in the format that doesn't function if you run duplicates of any kind, including basics.

    My Turbo Rograhk + Tevish stax is way better than any korvold deck. Check it out Real Hot Chili. Lay Tevish t1-3 consistently. Also in my list wheel of fortune, deathgrip, painters servant, dockside are the 4 main tutor targets. Because I play deathgrip and painters servant alongside red elemental blast and pyro blast I feel like I can keep deflecting swat off the list. Deflecting swat is cool but I honestly prefer red elemental blast and pyroblast as potential removal and counterspells for different things than deflecting swat can hit.

      My man not playing Deflecting swat with a 0 drop commander in the command zone is literally blasphemy. Put that shit in the 0 reasons not to

      @@WhoTFareyou2 I understand that tev is also a commander and also works for deflecting swat but you really need to understand something. I value deathgrip much higher than I value deflecting swat. Deathgrip activated ability on the stack has next to no played responses in cedh, and even if there is a response you can just pay 2 more mana. People heavily underestimate the value of douse, lifeforce, and deathgrip. Imo painters servants original banning took those into account, when it was unbanned they did not take them into account. It’s only 4 mana to put deathgrip and painters servant on the board. After that you possess so much control lethality that most players will never play into you with open mana. Meaning the turn of the player right before your turn is always next to meaningless as long as your mana is up. It’s a 4 mana board state that says “I, as your opponent get to decide what you will and will not be playing today, repeatedly, without spending any cards beyond the two set up cards”. My average cmc is really low and I probably have too many lands in the list if anything.

      @@WhoTFareyou2 deflecting swat just doesn’t do enough things IMO. It’s a card slot I can use for other interaction. If I was gonna cut for deflecting swat it’d be red elemental blast or pyroblast and neither of those feels like a good choice. The deck is designed to make as much excess mana as possible in these colors without taxing my hand size : example, I don’t run Mox diamond or gemstone caverns for this reason. I don’t think taxing my hand size in that manner is the correct play line enabler. The deck consistently puts tevesh into play t1-3 already without such hand taxing cards and to be honest I value my stax pieces more than I value tevesh in play. Setting up a big stax situation or wheel of fortune with 0-1 cards because I hand dumped efficiently is the key to piloting the deck appropriately. You need to protect the wheel of fortune cast at all costs. Usually that 1 card left in my hand is red elemental blast or pyroblast. Sometimes I will legitimately tutor one of those just to do a safe wheel of fortune. The ability to dump and refill hand is essential.
